Sounds much closer to Lost Planet, MechAssault 2, and Starhawk to me.
Because KOTOR, Morrowind, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Left 4 Dead, Splinter Cell, and Minecraft all released for PC and still sold gangbusters on Xbox. Console exclusivity is the only thing that matters for console sales.

So.. biggest leak in video game history? I mean we were going to find out about it in a week anyway but I have to imagine MS and EA REALLY didn't want anyone to know about this so it would be a huge, potentially console war winning surprise.
'Cloud' is a marketing gimmick in many cases. You're right, this doesn't sound like it's doing anything different than any game that's ever used authoritative MP servers, the only difference seems to be who's data center the game server software runs on.
It's the same with 'cloud applications' in other domains too. Cloud became a bit of a meaningless buzz word in how it was often applied.
but again.. how would that cripple Kilzone SF sales..? why did you even bring that game up..?

They're far more likely to invest that sort of money into whatever their Black Tusk Studio game is. Their own IP.

It's on PC as well but I get what you mean. It's not on a good priced console and PC's are expensive to build. That's why I set myself up quite nicely and am fully ready for PC ports of next gen games with my rig.

In a sense... at the same time, the notion that respawn's game was gonna be tied to the xbone to some extent has been floating around for a while, so it's not exatly shocking.
I bet they won't even show it during their conference.

The information about Destiny that got leaked/released as part of the court battle between Activision and Respawn was FAR, FAR more damaging and juicy, because that was MONTHS before that game was supposed to be revealed.
Not to mention the fact that this doesn't hold a candle to when the hacker released the source code to an early prototype to Half-Life 2. This leak will be forgotten in about 3 months.

There are always shooters on the market dude. I'm pretty sure Cod being bigger then Halo would have been scoffed at years ago.
The game could be a failure who knows but I'm postitive it won't be.

Someone else brought it up in a comment that stated Killzone would hinder this games chances of becoming huge. Clearly you missed that.
But those four days are important because Microsoft wanted to make a big splash at E3. It was scheduled for Monday, after the conference, I believe.
This game has everything they want.
- FPS
- Example of cloud gaming
- Exclusive
- Great studio
- Early generation game
They could make this game enormous if they wanted, and E3 was their big chance. Now, because of this, the reveal is "cool" instead of "HOLYSHIT DID YOU SEE THE MS CONFERENCE THAT GAME WAS AWESOME"
Yeah; even back in the day, people actually had to wait until HL2 released to play V:TM Bloodlines.

What? It sounds nothing like CoD. It's much closer to Lost Planet and Mechassault than CoD from the sounds of it.
Jeez. Just because it has shooting and is an FPS doesn't automatically mean it sounds like CoD.

How can they cripple the sales if the game comes out let's say in May or June? 5 or so months after Killzone: SF? Killzone doesn't exactly have long legs in sales but when you're buying a new console the attach rate for the exclusive launch lineup is probably going to be high...especially with a title like Killzone (which has a fanbase)

Undoubtedly both. Probably was supposed to have its world premiere unveiling at the MS conference, then a more in-depth gameplay demo at the EA one, I'd guess.

So... yeah... I'm more excited for Destiny. And all this cloud computing stuff, guess we'll see how it pans out. I have few reasons to have faith in it. The PC version should be pretty sweet with the modified Source Engine. I wonder if te game will have some sort of "GWFL 2.0" deal or just use Steamworks?
