Just watched "Who wants to be a millionaire" and one of the questions we're "which company started off at a card company in the 1880's?"

The guy didn't know it but when he jumped the question everyone in the audience was like "no!"

Lol.

...It's a sign (It really isn't!).

I just read up on the history of Nintendo..wow, they've come a long way.

All this time I thought they started out with video games.

LTTP with Bayonetta 2 GIFs, but I wanted to make one lol.

The artwork and animated .gifs are some of the best parts of this thread, and these countdown .gifs are the cream of the crop.

DaBoss, can you repost them all in one spot for us to enjoy or get the OP to add them?

It wasn't until Yamauchi visited Disney Land that he knew he wanted to make Nintendo something more. They partnered with Disney to make merchandise for them. This Was what initially allowed Nintendo to actually get into the Kyoto and Osaka stock exchange.

Watch this for more info in the history of Nintendo if your interested.

Leave luck to heaven

Seems like a relevant place here to mention that I just got two guinea pigs. Named them Waddle Dee and King DeDeDe.

going to have to phone up the vets tomorrow to register them. Oh god.

Sakurai confirming the Smash trailer means Nintendo has some more surprises up their sleeves (as just showing Smash would count as one).

I broke up from uni a while ago and have nothing to do. It's really sunny outside too but I have nothing to do. I'm going to start taking some driving lessons in a few days but all of this isn't making the wait any easier :(

Alright Gaf, I'm trying to figure out my Tuesday E3 Breakfast.

I'm choosing between wine (gentleman) and Beer (slightly-less-gentle-man) as my beverages.

Today I'm going food shopping. What should I eat?

??? Smash was confirmed to appear in the Direct months ago, and a trailer was expected. We're also getting trailers for Mario 3D and Mario Kart, both of which will be playable at E3 too.

Doritos

Can't go wrong with an omelette and French Toast/pancakes.

Expected but not confirmed until now. Iwata didn't imply anything more than screenshots.

Beer is the best choice for early drinking.

Chips, jerky, and a small variety of sweets is what I'm going with.

Don't forget Star Fox Metroid being playable as well.

I'll kill you, poo. I swear it.

Right, but the expectation was reasonable, and Sakurai confirming it hardly constitutes as Nintendo having more secrets up their sleeve. Nintendo said Smash would be at E3. Smash is at E3, in at least trailer form. Surprise?!

It was expected but never confirmed and it's good to hear it after all, so many people thought we would only see some screens. So now we can expect (dream of) a little more unannounced stuff.

Now if they have playble demos of smash, maaaaan.

Nintendo usually always has surprises though. Even last year they did with NintendoLand and The Wonderful 101.

I'm fully expecting to see:
Mario 3D U (like promised)
Mario Kart U (like promised)
Smash Bros U (like promised)
Wii Sports U (surprise)
Retro Studio's new game (surprise!)

That is where my expectations are currently set. The rest will be filled with other stuff we are already aware of and a few other non-significant new announcements. Hopefully I'm wrong, but all-in-all I wouldn't say that would be a bad E3, just not the one they so desperately need.

I'm pretty new to photoshopping, so I'm not entirely sure. When I saved your old one and tried to just select and delete the background, I wasn't able to. It may be because it was a .png, but I honestly have no idea.

Ok thanks. It's weird cos it looks fine in photoshop and on my desktop, transparanet background and all. Just not on gaf. Maybe resoution too high? Hmm. Oh well, this works great thanks!

OT: Mario Paint U is a no brainer really. Which is why I'm not expecting it...

I like your list, but I think we'll see a few other surprises in there, maybe a 3rd party game or 3 as well. I expect at least two major "gigaton" announcements.

Right, and that's great. But it's hardly evidence of Nintendo having a bunch more surprises. That's not to say they wont, but any surprises and probability of surprises is exactly the same as it was before this thread even went up. Not much has changed, as Nintendo's iron fortress of secrets prevents leaks and hints.

They might! Who knows. Guess it depends how far the build is along. If I recall correctly Brawl was in trailer form for the first year, then playable for the next. I'm fairly confident Smash won't make it out until Q3/Q4 2014 (I think it will be a big title for that year), and that if any of the three are not playable at E3 it will be that one.

They'll have surprises. Smash/Kart/Mario being shown just don't happen to be them, even if what is shown happens to be surprising ;)

Not Doritos.

Doritos

Can't go wrong with an omelette and French Toast/pancakes.

Triforce Omelette confirmed

and LOL @ doritos

Burgers and beer.

"Beer! It's liquid bread, it's good for you"

Chips, jerky, and a small variety of sweets is what I'm going with.

Hmmm, I may have my entire day planned out then.

I have burger meat already, BBQ Lays (one chip and a bag of air), a ton of candy (Hopefully not from Halloween.

I think I'm going to try and decorate all of my food for Nintendo.

Expect pics during the Direct Thread

Photoshop can be funky when it comes to the "bottom" layer, one of the quirks is that if often times doesn't like transparency on the bottom layer. The easy solution is to duplicate the layer (so you have an exact copy) that isn't on the bottom, disable the bottom layer (turning off the eye next to it) and then removing the background of the new duplicate layer, then save as PNG or GIF (jpg doesn't support transparencies).

Seriously, I just have no idea about the surprises. Obviously the one is Retro... But we can't be even sure about this. They likely work on a new IP but StarTropics is a possibility too even if it's more unlikely to happen. Metroid or StarFox are possible too. What I really don't know are 3DS surprises. I expected Zelda to be but they revealed tbat. Maybe tbey really are making a MM 3D too... And Metroid,StarFox could be on 3DS. Everything other than those, it's just too unexpected.

Wii Fit U
Wii Party U
Pikmin 3
WWHD
Wonderful 101
Mario Kart
3D Mario
SSB4
X
Betrayalnetta
Yoshi Yarn
Retro game

These are the games I'm fully expecting to be there. Outside of Wii Sports U, I can't even begin to think what surprises they could have. I don't think at least a couple unknown games would be too much to ask for.

It would be some sort of furry paradise I imagine.

I've only ever played one Star Fox game; Command. I'll buy a new one Nintendo.

I'm more excited for the fanfics that will come out of it if anything.

Is there any actual proof that Retro's game will be there or is it still based off that one twitter account that said they were in crunch a year or two ago, coupled with the fact we haven't heard from them for a while?

Oh, I guess they moved into bigger offices, too?
