I can't believe Retro's teaming up with Sega to make Star Fox x Sonic Racing.

I like your list, but I think we'll see a few other surprises in there, maybe a 3rd party game or 3 as well. I expect at least two major "gigaton" announcements.

I really hope so, but Nintendo already blew a pretty large WiiU load with Jan. Direct and Sonic World, I just don't expect them to reveal every single other game they currently have in development for WiiU (even though they need to). I suggest dialing down your hype-level.

They'll have surprises. Smash/Kart/Mario being shown just don't happen to be them, even if what is shown happens to be surprising ;)

Maybe it is E3 on the mind, but that wink makes me think you know something "surprising" that has to do with one of those three titles. Is it Sonic Vs. Mario Kart? Spill it EatChildern or you will force me to start posting Metroid Vs. Star Fox fanfiction!

Is there any actual proof that Retro's game will be there or is it still based off that one twitter account that said they were in crunch a year or two ago, coupled with the fact we haven't heard from them for a while?

Oh, I guess they moved into bigger offices, too?

Earlier in the year their LinkedIn mentioned they were hiring testers. That in addition to a poster here saying they began testing a couple months ago really makes it seem like the game could release very soon.

Guys ive been listening to this on repeat and my hype can't be contained.

Super Mario Galaxy: Gusty Garden Galaxy

So good. The Galaxies and Xenoblade are my go-to video game OSTs.

Nintendo's surprise will most likely just be Retro's game. What other Nintendo dev or second party has yet to show a game for the Wii U?

Everything related to Retro's game and when it will be announced is conjecture based on hirings, LinkedIn profiles, twitter gossip, and vague PR crap from the likes of Reggie. In reality there's no confirmation, or proof, that Retro's game will be announce in the Direct. Even if it's expected for other reasons.

I know absolutely nothing about Nintendo press reveal. Getting any secrets out of Nintendo is harder than squeezing blood from a stone. I have some solid leads on other E3 stuff, none of which related to Nintendo. I don't think I've ever been privvy to some super surprising Nintendo news or announcement. Like I said, iron fortress.

I'm as much in the dark about Mario, Kart, and Smash as any of you.

I ditched my new leaf avatar after the hype thread got closed for being creepy. Can anyone give me an only on Nintendo avatar?

please and thank you!!

The Pikmin/NSMB team is probably the furthest into their next project and could easily have something ready. I'm sure EAD Tokyo already knows what their next project is and could already have done a good amount of work on it.

Seriously, I just have no idea about the surprises. Obviously the one is Retro... But we can't be even sure about this. They likely work on a new IP but StarTropics is a possibility too even if it's more unlikely to happen. Metroid or StarFox are possible too. What I really don't know are 3DS surprises. I expected Zelda to be but they revealed tbat. Maybe tbey really are making a MM 3D too... And Metroid,StarFox could be on 3DS. Everything other than those, it's just too unexpected.

I expect very few (if any) new 3DS first-party announcements. This year alone is completely full as it is and Nintendo is not usually one to announce games that are a year+ away. I'd say Smash 3DS footage is even unlikely. Anything new for 3DS will most likely be third-party related or new information for already announced games. As for Star Fox, I think we could see a Platnium developed WiiU entry in the series further down the road but I imagine any realistic hope of seeing that franchise in a week is if Treasure's 3DS game is somehow Star Fox-related. As for Metroid, I'm convinced Retro is working on something FPS-like, maybe something Metroid-related (if not a new IP).

The only thing really about their game was when the dude born with a fucking Dorito on his head asked Reggie about Retro at the last E3(or somewhere) and Reggie said they are working on a fantastic project and when asked if we will see it at the next E3(which would be this one), he said around there, possibly before or after.

Basically, it's ready to be shown and the only reason it wouldn't be is maybe they have too many games but they might as well show them all since the system is doing shitty.

Btw, I so totally can't wait for that Zelda Wii U trailer, because it is so totally happening!

It's not happening, I can't actually believe people think it's going to show up.

I'm also wondering what Monster Games is up to and NLG. I remember NLG saying something about working on more Nintendo IPs.

Edit: I want to believe we'll see Zelda U in some form. :(

I figured as much, but I just wanted to believe!

Oh right, Monster Games is pretty likely too. I was surprised they didn't have an Excite title at launch. NLG could happen I guess, but that quote you mentioned was only from a couple days ago, so they may not have their next project yet. I also think we could see IntSys' Wii U game. Their reign of terror on the 3DS has to be put on hold at some point!

Intelligent Systems is co-developing Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem with Atlus and G&W is coming out soon so I don't think we'll see anything new from them other than SMT x FE.
