Redditor claims MS employees monitoring Reddit; making positive posts about the Xbox1

My only concern is the differentiation between who is truly a shill and who is a fan/super-fan simply expressing their enthusiasm.
 
Well, that's... Nothing new. XXIst Century Marketing.

Honestly, each and everyone of us will decide to buy or not to buy an XBOne/PS4 based mainly upon what WE think, the games we want to play and the money we have. These people, who behave like true fanboys are inmediately attacked and their opinions lose any value.

If you have you arguments for not buying an XBOne, i'm sure nothing but a change of Microsoft's policy will change your mind so, Who cares about this? They're even people devoted to uncover these marketing employees so... Just enjoy the show :)

Quite a number of prominent defenders and fans on GAF (with a few notable exceptions) have jumped ship, or became non-aligned since the great reveal a few weeks ago.

Being non-aligned is the best way to experience this whole debacle right now lol.

MS hasn't mentioned the cloud in forever now. It's like they gave up immediately after their first try when everyone pointed and laughed at them.

Shills seem to love the "Sony might have something like this too!" card as well. Despite Sony stating outright that they won't. That or they're just a bunch of people hard of reading.

Imagine if the for-profit prisons are paying people to defend them and strictly laws?

Imagine if monsanto has hoards of posters running out to ridicule anyone who buys organic?

I could've sworn I've seen a few posters defend the wholesale G.E. of plants and animals by Monsanto as a good thing in a few threads in off topic. Not to the degree you're implying though.

I thought this was to be expected. Why wouldn't Microsoft do something like this? Microsoft has enough money to attempt damage control on a site like Reddit.

Seriously, if you're good at it and it comes naturally and you enjoy it why not consider it? You could always combine your writing/PR skills with a particular field you're interested in.
 
This shit is so goddamn frustrating. Anyone who tries to defend blatantly anti-consumer bollocks from MS or Sony this E3 gets the instant stink-eye from me.
 
This is a common PR firm move. It happens more than any us knows and mostly because of the explosion of social media. Social media itself now is a huge advertising market. And it can be used both positively and negatively to impact product and even competitors product. Its why Amazon now requires people to have proof on their accounts of having bought the product they are reviewing... ofcourse the Amazon system can still be abused and is.

And now, given the past few pages I have read...apparently if you say something pro Microsoft you must be a PR Plant.

I don't particularly care for some of the terms MS put on used / loaning of games...but honestly none of their policies will impact me personally. So I still have a fairly open mind about the console. Does that make me a PR plant? I would think not...but if it does...will someone please have MS send the check to the right address?

That rhetoric has been cropping up a lot lately. Writing positive things about Microsoft policies and business practices will not get you banned. You can be as positive as you want as long as you are able to make your case and present coherent arguments. I haven't seen cases where "normal" users were hit.

I trust mods to have a better perspective about a user post history, ip address or the email associated with the account.

As for your argument, a policy that doesn't impact you doesn't mean that it won't affect others.
