Only two days left and still no leaks.....is this a record for Sony? I mean, I would have expected a sneak shot of the console by now, some game names, DRM plan leaks, anything. I mean especially with the DRM stuff we had leaks for months before it was confirmed. With Sony, we have had nothing, other than a patent that has been shot down already.

kind of crazy, I wonder if they will be able to keep the ship tight over the weekend though.

I feel like the DRM stuff could be changing hourly. There's a good chance that they're meeting with publishers and weighing options as much as they can before Monday.

Wasn't there a hint about SSM's next (GOW?) game in Ascension? Or was that debunked?
Maybe. There were a couple secret codes in Ascension that no one ever figured out.

Only if it's not God of War related and not a shooter. Either of those two things would take hype AWAY from me if they were announced.

Come on, SSM. Show me something I'll actually play. :[

I would be Aok if they announced a "new" God of war. New protag, norse mythology, open world, and then we find out that its a plan for the four horsemen with Kratos being war, the Norse character becomes Death, etc. Allot of cool things they could do with the GOW ip.

I found this floating around, anyone know the source of this?

Apparently Destiny of Spirits is Demon Souls 2.

edit: It's funny how the name can be shortened to DeS as well. Also souls=spirits kinda thing to distance themselves from the souls franchise. It makes sense.

I don't care if this is fake, this is my dream on a paper.

I believe Sony has learned their lesson. Keep the secrets close to their chest. Even away from their own. Just look at what happened with 8GB GDDR5.

Crash Bandicoot?

That needs to be my first Playstation game

Or next-gen MLB, lack of baseball games on everything other than PS has really sucked

I just can't get excited about another linear "experience" game right now. I want something with some longevity to it. Something long and substantial. So far, the PS4 has absolutely no games announced that will be longer than 15 hours, and that's a pathetic shame.

They can bring God of War back in a few years - a reboot would still be nice, like you said - but SSM needs to give us something entirely new for their first PS4 game. And it better not be another damn shooter.

I guess, but like I said we have never really gotten "any" of these rumors for Sony. Only the assumption that because Microsoft was doing then Sony must be towing the same line. Also with Shuhei joking about it, and other Sony employees making some pointed statements about the subject, its just all kind of weird.

We also already no that there are no online requirements (unless added recently) so Sonys system could not be the same as Microsofts in the first place. Still not getting my hopes up, but its just all kinds of crazy this past 2 weeks.

I think the next SSM title has guns.

Yeah, if it's an open world FPS as rumored I've very excited. Shooters have stagnated a bit but the open world FPS genre has been taking off and I feel like SSM's style and brutality would make for an awesome and unique shooter.

Sony, why you gotta make me hate you? I'm trying to give you my money, and you're telling me you don't want it.

SSM's style and brutality would work a lot better with something where your entire means of interacting with the world isn't pointing and clicking on enemies' heads to kill them in one hit from very far away. An open world RPG with strong melee combat would suit their talents far better than another samey FPS.

Maybe it's a unique FPS though.

I tend to agree that the genre is over-saturated right now, but you never know what kind of unique twist and spin they could have on it.

I just generally don't like First Person Perspective. I'm cool if it's TPS :D

I dont know I have not really ever completed any of the Infamous games in 15hrs, but I like to explore those types of games. Racing games like Drive club usually always carry some longevity to them as long as the community is there, DCUO, and Planetside 2 will take up a solid chunk of time. I think John Blow said the witness will have like 25hrs of content also.

Favorite PS Heroes:

1) Kat from Gravity Rush (I LOVED that game)
2) Sly Cooper (this would be #1 with Kat)
3) Ramona from the Dragon Fantasy series.

If it's any consolation, GG is rumored to be working on an RPG that will probably be something like that.

Maybe I'm just really good at the inFamous games, but I beat both of them in about 13 hours and that included getting all the blast shards in IF2. Zero interest in racing games that don't have "Burnout" in the title, and I'm not an MMO player.

As it stands, the only currently announced PS4 title I'm interested in is The Witcher 3. I want to play inFamous 3 of course, but I need something meaty to play on the system to justify the purchase. And so far nothing we've seen fits that bill.

If it's any consolation, GG is rumored to be working on an RPG that will probably be something like that.

I've heard GG's new IP is also a shooter though, just a very different kind than Killzone.

I just don't understand why Sony keeps going back to that well instead of giving us new things to try. They have Killzone for their flagship FPS, and they have Uncharted for TPS. They don't need any more shooters - they'll just be competing against each other, just like Killzone 3 did with Resistance 3.

SSM is a huge studio with an impressive amount of pull. I'm sure Stig and the team decided on something fantastic. Don't forget these guys made God of War. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt if they decided on a shootbang. The only thing I am concerned about is the story. GoW 3's plot was unacceptably cliche.

I don't understand why anyone needs to "meet with publishers". Publishers are not going to have any sales without consoles. Consoles have a plethora of games, but EA only has 3 console options to generate sales. Same with Ubisoft and Activision.

This idea that console manufacturers have to bow down to publishers is asinine. Publishers won't sell shit without consoles willing to play their games. I really don't get it. Publishers are not in any position to tell one of the main 2 console makers, "we're boycotting you." No way, no how. Unless Activition wants to only sell half of the copies of CoD they did last release.

Losses from used games pales in comparison to avoiding a premier console.

I have a question do you think they will announce a price and do you think gamestop will let people pre order immediately after announced because I'm so ready to run to the store and put money down.

GoWIV > SSM shooter

probably

Stig is making a new game...so even if turns out to be a shooter, wouldn't be surprised if it was a real crazy looking one

But guys keep your expectations in check. I wouldn't be surprised if this was regarding the GOW:A team. Might be info on future DLC or something. Go in with expectations low

I'm not saying I want it that way but there could be agreements already in place for exclusive DLC and stuff that they could be threatening to pull. I'd love for Sony to just give them the finger but it won't happen.

I want to say they will announce the price but I'm thinking they might wait until Gamescom so they can see what MS is going to do. If MS announces the price for the Xbone on Monday afternoon, I think Sony will do it that night.

Here's the thing - I just don't enjoy first person games, period. The viewpoint gives me vertigo, and I don't enjoy interacting with the world through a camera lens, especially when the only means of interaction is non-stop murder. I just can't get excited about a shooter from SSM, regardless of how talented they are.

This is also why I don't care about Destiny. I want to control a person, not a camera with a gun duct taped to the lens. I know that's not a popular viewpoint, but it's how I feel. :[

Yep but I'll probably do Amazon as you don't have to pay to pre-order ahead of time.

Sony traditionally announces prices for NA at E3, Europe at Gamescom, and Japan at TGS.

Well think about it this way. Developers don't have to go through the difficult architecture of the PS3 anymore. The PS4's architecture allows for easier and smoother development for games so developers can devote more time into the design and structure of their games including storylines.

I think they're both going to have price and release date. Obviously a lot of people want both of these consoles, and at this point I'm pretty sure this is time you want to release the price so that people can more easily pre-order them and have an idea how much they need and when they can get it.

If Microsoft is having as many issues with production as rumors have been pointing to, I could see them not having a price or date set in stone yet.

That's a totally unsustainable position. There are just too many exceptions to dislike such a huge genre. I'm not an FPS guy either, but R3 and Bulletstorm were two of my favorite games this gen. Hey, it might be third-person, I don't know. I just hope it isn't post-apocalyptic.

I think that has already been confirmed. New gametype, right? But whatever they are working on, we will see it soon. There's no way they are going to build a new engine all over again (like GG and ND). And God of War III shipped early 2010 -- meaning whatever this game is, it started prototyping/development in late '09.

I really hope they do I would be first in line at my game stop I think them waiting on showing the price could hurt them now release date I can see them not saying much only to protect in how much they need to make.

Unsustainable? I don't know about that. I've managed to survive most of this gen while largely avoiding first person shooters. The genre just does nothing for me. Portal 2 is really the only first person game I've played this gen that wowed me in any real significant manner.

I even suffered through New Vegas in third person just to avoid the disconnect of playing as a disembodied camera with a gun taped to it.

Yeah, I'm pretty confident we'll see something new from SSM for PS4 at E3. GG and SP have already announced their games and KZ and inFamous aren't the biggest franchises, ND probably isn't going to show anything before Last of Us is out and Polyphony is working on GT6 for PS3 so having a new game from "the makers of God of War" will be something Sony wants to get out there.
