^_^ Cloud Gaming = DRM Enforcement. Designed from day one for DRM. You know this already though, MS idea, they approached 3rd parties with this, not the other way around. EA/Ubi biggest suporters of this not Activision Which is odd to me.

Thanks CBOAT, now I know who to boycott next generation alongside Microsoft.

3. Be nice to Major Nelson, he has a job. Like Al Snow. (who?)

Al Snow was a professional wrestler. In the WWE he was mostly used as a "jobber," a wrestler who job is to mostly lose matches to further other character's careers/storylines more than his own.

Basically, CBOAT is saying don't be mean to Major Nelson for lying/towing the company PR line, because he's just a company man doing his job for Microsoft.

Microsoft is paying third parties to not mention PS4 versions a la Sony and Diablo 3 (until they just announced it for 360 a day or two ago). If a game is not explicitly said to be Xbox One exclusive, it isn't.

This to me, really, really stinks. This is deliberately stifling information from the public using wads of cash or other incentives. I don't like this at all.

Oh so the rumour about Microsoft trying to pay third parties to be quiet about multiplatform Ps4 titles was true? Fucking assholes.

Thanks, CBOAT, for allowing us to be wise to their schemes.

Also: Wow @ Microsoft going to third parties instead of the other way around on that point. Just wow.

Just a silly question, but would any of this be mentioned in your summary thread?

60 million people play world of tanks!?

sa_wtc_zps8ee63dcd.gif

Well, no, to be more accurate: World Of Tanks Hits 60 Million Subscribers came out two days ago.

Not all are active players.

paywall!!? >:(
Looks like Im skipping x1 for PS4...if they dont follow MS's consumer shafting paradigm.

This is what happens when I leave GAF to play games. Buttocks happens.

Hot damn.

So the DRM is even worse then we know? Sounds right. You're usually supposed to get some foreplay before being fucked.

Eh, Not announcing a game will also be available on the PS4 is one of the few things I don't have an issue with. Lots of third party (non exclusive) game's TV commercials end with an XBox or PS3 logo. Same thing, IMO.

You need to pay for Xbox Live Gold to play free to play games.

Now this, this pisses me off.

Yes, the vast majority of that list is disgusting, but for some reason that first bullet point really rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. Oh well it's business and par for the course I guess.

If you were posting information that jeopardized your job, would you do it in a way that it could be linked back to you through any logical means?

Well posting it on a forum as well known as this doesn't really help, surely. I mean, I don't really see the benefits of writing the way he does when it's so easily 'decoded'. But then again I'm not the one leaking said information and wouldn't know how to go about it anyway. Fair enough, whatever the case.

...

I have no words for the OP. Hard to believe DRM can get worse...

Maybe he should stop acting like something he's not then or come clean like wrestling did and admit it's all bullshit.

Activision not being behind the DRM makes sense. Their income comes through DLC and other microtransactions. To them, a used game is someone else willing to buy Map packs and weapon skins.

and thats the proper way of thinking about used games.

In terms of Microsoft buying off publishers to ignore the PS4 announcement at E3, would there be anything to stop Sony from adding the said titles non chalantly during a montage or launch window game list during their presentation?

Maybe now people can stop harping on about third parties pushing the industry towards DRM, and strong-arming Sony into inevitably doing it with the PS4.

This is Microsoft's decision.

Yeah, but I'm sure those same parties then went to Sony and were like "This is Microsoft's offer - what's yours?" So I'm sure they're still able to pressure Sony.

That was surprisingly easy to read
The fact that MS went to pubs is fucking despicable, pieces of shits

They aren't what I envisioned in 1999 when they decided to get into console gaming. They've morphed into what I've disliked about them since pre-1995.

Microsoft is making me become a Sony fanboy.

That Microsoft stuff sounds terrible. I HOPE the fact that it was Microsoft pushing for DRM and now third parties means that it doesn't NECESSARILY mean doom and gloom for PS4 as well.

I think it's not so much the translation as making sure he doesn't use a normal phrase that he's known for.

Like if someone saw my posts here, they know I use the phrase "To be fair" a lot and would be able to figure out which user I was.

Also, it makes it more fun for all, lol.
