Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| We Need To Go Cheaper

I am junior member so I cannot create a new thread and this is next best place to ask..

So I am from Croatia and in 20 days we will enter EU....for better or worse, but I would like to focus here on gaming.
I would like to know more about new possibilities and benefits that we will get.
So far I know no more custom fees and package sitting for 2-3 days on customs. Maybe I finally get to play games on day 1 :)

What else? I mostly shop on UK webshops. Amazon so far did not ship electronics (and games) to Croatia. Hopefully this will change now.
Are return policies (customer protection) the same across countries or at least if I order from another country (UK in this case) do I get same benefits as locals?

I notices that you mention price matching. How that works? I suppose the stores must be in the same country.

So far I focused only on UK stores that deliver to Croatia. What are some other good places (not necessarily in UK) to shop and that deliver inside EU (and hopefully soon to Croatia).

Customer rights in Croatia are not so high so I want to get up to speed :) So far it was "order and be lucky if everything is ok"

Any other helpful tip? :)

You might be better of with one of the Amazon stores that are closer to your country, like for example Italy, on occassions. They will likely be cheaper for shipping. Might even be free if you spend more than 20 euros or so.

Price matching afaik is mostly between Amazon and GAME afaik, maybe also Tesco. People contact Amazon/the others to tell them about cheaper prices elsewhere and then sometimes Amazon change their price accordingly.

Customer protection should be the same throughout Europe. But, if you shop on a Croatian site for example, it could be that you don't have the same level of protection yet if European legislation hasn't been adopted yet in Croatian law.

we will enter EU....for better or worse

So you don't really want to be in the EU, but you do want the cheap arse perks. Is that what you are saying? ;-)

CroatiaGAF here. ;) hi!

So far I know no more custom fees and package sitting for 2-3 days on customs. Maybe I finally get to play games on day 1 :)
Doubt this, especially Day One delivery. I don't think stores guarantee this for any country other than the actual country they're in (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

AFAIK, we will be able to order games, electronics and lots of other stuff from Amazon. Yay! \o/

We should be able to order from Play.com and hopefully other online retailers after July 1st. We'll see soon enough.

Welcome to GAF, btw!

Enjoy!

Wow. Great price on 3DSXL at £119. Picked my 3DS original up for £115 six months after the launch when the price cut hit. Everyone should buy at that price!

I paid 2 weeks ago and they cancelled my order because of funds on my credit card.

I made order again, paid 2 extra pounds, now I'm waiting... Don't know why they cancelled my order in first place.

No :)
Actually I voted for EU, I volunteered for some pro-EU stuff and I'm looking forward to it. Also I work for large european company so it will help me a lot I think. Besides i work in IT field so it can only go better. But don't worry I don't plan to start "stealing" jobs outside Croatia any time soon :)

Thanks for help

and
Hvala IvanI :)

Yep. Any wired 360 controller will do. Grab whatever is cheapest and plug it in! Windows 7 will know what it is and most games will dynamically map the buttons depending on how old the game is.

Why wired? Always used my wireless controllers on my pc. Just buy one dongle (or one x360 PC wireless pad) , then you can connect as many pads as you want to one dongle, using the x360 gamepads you already own.

Just a heads up for those, like me, that have left it late to pre-order TLoU.
Green Man Gaming have the Joel Edition available for pre-order @ £44.99 (7% Quidco)

After I ordered it there was a message saying it would be with me for release date. I'm away on holiday so not too fussed about delivery speed.

Something must be happening at E3 / Nintendo Direct - too many weird priced 3DS XL recently,

teaparty.jpg

Confirmed. Same resolution as 3DS (small). Pixels the size of your fist. Good stuff.

Some new amazing colour... a revision of some kind (draws less power)... an actual price drop which will drive these prices even lower... I dunno - maybe nothing

Amazon offer T&C...

...I will wait till E3 just in case.

The offer is valid until then, but the 120 price will probably change. Besides, the machine is not in stock (for the silver one it is 1 to 3 weeks) so you can always cancel.

What do I do? What do I do?
People, tell me what do to....
Keyser Soze is perfectly right. I'd say wait for tomorrow's N-Direct. The offer lasts till July, no reason why you couldn't get it after the conference. I don't think a price drop is in sight but maybe a revision or some very good news about the system (account system? new games?) that will make the decision easier for you.

Nintendo has said that they will not announce any new hardware during E3, then again I believe the DSi XL was announced two days after Miyamoto said that Nintendo weren't working an a DSi XL.

Does anyone know what the cheapest prices are for Luigi's Mansion 2 and Animal Crossing: New Leaf that ship to mainland Europe? Are there any prices at or below £20 or is that just wishful thinking?

Very wishful. AC @ 28 from amazon is pretty good price

The email from ShopTo about Animal Crossing said they were processing them early in order to ship them on Wednesday so I don't think we are getting it before Thursday at earliest. :(

Yeah, I got that email for both games. :(

I'll still hold out hope for a Tuesday dispatch, as that's the earliest it usually happens.
