Game looks gorgeous. Gameplay looks like shit.

Like the worst controlling action game.

Curious about how it actually plays out. Hope it's more rpg than action.

This is easily one of my favorite games of this E3 so far. The combat looks crazy. The environments are fantastic. As long as the underlying RPG elements are strong, I'm probably going to love it.

I was worried that I would never be hyped for a Final Fantasy game again.

Not really happy about it being a numbered game now due to it being an action RPG, but I'm still interested in the game, and it looks pretty good right now. I just wish that they had kept it as Versus XIII and made something else for XV.

It looks great, however I'm curious as to how much of the actual combat was contextual. I don't have many issues with the scripted finishers, such as the one on the Iron Giant, but if there's not a lot of variety they could get boring really fast.

The scale of the Leviathan fight (even if it's not direct combat) impresses me.

Thinking back to last nights announcement, the animation from Versus XIII to XV with the accompanying witty dialogue was something straight out of a fanboy dream, I didn't expect them to do that. Totally expected if this was to be XV they'd burn all traces of Versus XIII and act like it was supposed to be this way from the get go.

This game literally looks better or on par with most of with Square CG up to FF10...

I want this so bad. Give it too me. Now!!!!

I really hope this is sooner rather than later. Realistically my guess is holiday 2014-first half of 2015. Has square mentioned anything about possible release window?

What is with people rejecting it as XV because it's an action RPG?
SE have always said they like to play around with different styles of gameplay, and Final Fantasy is their biggest franchise, frankly I'm glad they have the balls to try something new instead of rehashing the same shit with each numbered entry and only experimenting with lesser titles.

And it doesn't signify the end of turn-based JRPGs, they said that after XV they're not necessarily staying with an action system, they'll continue to experiment.

Looks really cool and flashy, but some parts of it come off as too scripted to be trusted. Like when they pierce the giant's hand to the ground and then two guys take their sword. As a "battle system" trailer, it didn't really tell me shit. It seems to be party based, but I have no idea how that works really. Is there some universal disable mechanic or was them pinning down the giant a one-off thing?

Anyway it is a huge change for the series. Even more so than the MMOs and FFXII's MMO style I'd say. Seems like they were going in this direction for awhile anyway.

EDIT: I don't really mind if Final Fantasys stop being JRPGs, but I think the potential for JRPGs hasn't been reached. Virtually no one has taken advantage of how abstract they are, except maybe to some small extent The Last Remnant. They mostly limiting themselves to "football" line-ups of some fashion.

EDIT: Action RPG. Is it really so hard to drop that one little phrase? Square Enix is allowed to make games you don't have to call a "RPG".

EDIT: One final thing: This game reminds me of Zoolander in some ways. Like what if they made a badass Zoolander action game. Bayonetta level wacky. It is mostly the blonde lol.

FF15 is an Action RPG?

This feels like the ending of an era.
I really think this is a special case. After having 3 FF games with XIII in the name, the production level and resources poured in to this, and the fact that they probably have barely started on a traditional FF sequel, it's a no brainer to just go ahead and call it 15 as opposed to ghetto-ising it as a side game. Remember, this is a company that numbers their MMOs as if they're in the main line. I wouldn't be surprised if 16 is more traditional and in pre-production already.

It's actually quite reminiscent of KH2's "Press to Awesome" moments really. Not that this is supporting that, but I don't think it's scripted.

I don't mind "Press X for Awesome" if what I get is indeed awesome - and from the looks of it, it might well be.

Wait, they've gone full out action RPG?

Colour me disappointed. This will probably suck. Will there even be a world map like what versus XIII promised?

Considering Nomura has helmed the direction for combat in this game, and Nomura makes fun games like Kingdom Hearts, it will probably not suck, unlike recent Final Fantasy games.

Game is stunning and I am so happy that they kept battle numbers in there but made it as minimilistic as possible :D My true love manifested!

Reminds me heavily of Ch. 12 of FFXIII actually.

I'm not sure how I feel about the combat. Doesn't seem too impressive.

Yeah Eden was mindblowing in XIII's finale, But not nearly as explorable and interactable as this.I mean you will probably be able to get on top of any building with your teleport ability.

I have always hated Final Fantasy. This is the first game I may actually consider. The androgynous art style still bothers me, but ultimately, the gameplay in this looks very satisfying.

I really wish they'd have shown something out in the field areas we were shown earlier. I'm assuming the game is still going to have open fields like the last time we saw any footage of it.

In any event, it looks nice. Better art design than FFXIII and its ilk though the footage this year is rather drab in color usage. Water at the end also looked pretty crap, but oh well.

I can't say I'm waiting with baited breathe. Regardless of the renaming I'll always remember this game has its roots in the horrid FFXIII Fabulous Crystal Novatron series and its labored development process. Just sort of sours the whole thing for me. I'd honestly have preferred a clean slate, but not much they can do about it.

Honestly I'm more excited for KH3 at this point since I'll finally play the other games through the PS3 HD collections.

Androgynous? How is this androgynous? Hell, half the characters have beards. This is one of the manlier FF casts we've seen in a long time. Just because Noctis isn't some musclebound bald soldier doesn't mean he's androgynous.

my ONLY concern with the arpg aspect is that KH did not play very well, the camera was weird, the control was off, and the characters and weapons felt very floaty with no weight to them at all, which is kind of what i'm seeing from the XV gameplay trailer....i hope nomura gets it right this time...

I wonder when the next time we'll see this game is.

Definitely agree with that.

Looks good but I don't like JRPG's and androgynous character style but dat scale... DAT SCALE:
The Amano characters you probably adore so much are much more androgynous than anyone in XV. They look like young, attractive men, not like you could mistake any one of them for a female (get your eyesight checked if you think so).
