Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Guessing there's no cross-platform play between Wii U and 3DS versions if the levels are different, huh?

I love Smash, so the Sakurai interview was a really nice watch. Nice to see the little tweaks and overhauls to Bowser - he was a fun character to play in Melee and Brawl, but so limited in scope. Hopefully Sakurai does the same with Ganondorf and makes him actually interesting. Mega Man looks fun, even if I would've preferred X or Zero, and I have no qualms with the Villager.

Also, hoping my boy Marth comes back. I needs my speedy swords!

I wonder what Wii Fit lady's role in the story mode of this Smash going to be (if there is one) she's entering battle to burn calories?

Is there any remote chance we'll get Chrom and EIRIKA? Marth is iconic but I find Chrom way too similar to him. A female from the Fire Emblem series would be nice.

Probably something on the lines of say King Dedede went flying and lands inside her house, and then something comedic happens to get her to join.

It has more similarities with the Punch-Out ring, but a dedicated stage doesn't 100% confirm Little Mac, though it's close.

I really want Isaac in this thing :(
He certainly deserves it.

You don't think DeDeDe got the money for awesome ass sound system. He is the king,

( I honestly do not think that mac is in though )

Really hope they start dojo in about a month. And just drop feed us to release.

While all of my disappointment with Brawl can't be entirely attributed to the Dojo, it did spoil the discovery-type fun I had with Melee. I was hyped pre-game like never before though

Hopefully there isn't a SSE mode to drain resources like with SSBB.

It was a poorly done adventure mode; players spent as much time running around as they did fighting (nightmarish, unfun-to-fight) enemies. A mode with platforming areas that are comparable in length to Melee's adventure mode levels between main battles with a simple crossover story that allows for co-op would be great.

Good chance *marth* replaces marth.
Especially if he wants more female characters.
Literally can keep most of the character the same and technically still change him.

Well Gematsu said a tip was right about Wii Fit Trainer, with said tip saying that Little Mac, Pac-Man and Mii would be announced this E3, so who knows?

Yep, the site also seems to have enough space for more updates, the E3 site also has "coming soon" spaces, and so far they've only shown 3 new characters, plenty of time for more reveals. Who needs one good trailer when you can have 3 average trailers...wait what?

I'm all about that preface hype character wise.
Don't mind if levels and other stuff stay secret though.

Did anyone point out that Villager might be similar to Balloon Fighter? After all, he was the third classic character (alongside Ice Climbers and Pit) Sakurai wanted in Smash, and Villager has at least one move like him (the balloon flight move, complete with pose and helmet).

Yeah, it seem to be that way. No cross-platform play and Sakurai's interview concerned me tho.

I'm worried that Sakurai might lend to system exclusive characters since they didn't specific said that we would get same roster on both system. I know I may be very paranoid but it would suck hardcore if few favorite characters are on 3DS and I have no way to play with them on Wii U against different characters that are exclusive to Wii U.

I remember when people over the years would tell me "how could they possibly put in an AC character? What's he gonna do? Garden? Fish them with his pole?"

fucking showed you.

you can design a good moveset for almost any Nintendo character with a little creativity :)

Wii Fit Trainer Girl was a massive surprise though.

Not really. It could easily be a Kirby stage too...tho the ring has a smash logo.

And don't forget that stages don't translate straight to characters - Smashville was in Brawl, but no actual characters. That said, Little Mac's ring isn't exactly iconic by itself so it's more likely for Mac to be Back.

Well, we've seen Wii Fit Girl on the 3DS version, haven't we? If they were going to do console-specific characters, she would definitely be Wii U only, since there's NO Wii Fit presence on the handheld side.

I think the roster will be the same in both versions. Maybe one exclusive character per version as a bonus, but it definitely won't be significantly different. Sakurai wouldn't do that to us.

Really love the look of Villager and Mega Man. (so hyped for him!)

Wii Fit Trainer is a great WTF character, would like to see more gameplay of her though.

Also will there be anymore reveals at E3 or is that it?

Well, there are six empty character slots on the bottom on the website. How soon for them to be revealed?

It'll probably just increase gradually when they are eventually filled.

Mind to link me to Wii Fit Girl on 3DS because I can't find anything on that.

Someone said in another thread that this was 1080 when all the screens are 720 who's right?! =/

I would says 720 since almost all of video are 720.

Better chance of Lyn, Micaiah, Titania, Mia, Lucina, Tharja, or even Mist than Erika imo.

And as much as I'd love any of them, my hopes aren't very high, although Lucina *might have a chance considering her design and recent game's big success. If Lucina did get in I'd not be surprised if she either replaced Marth or was a "clone" of him.

All the returning characters introduced were the ones in the original 64 opening. They're like the world warriors for street fighter, series staples. The exception is Pit taking Yoshi's place because Pit is Sakurai's baby.
If they remove Yoshi.... I will slap everyone.

We haven't, so all the more reason to think console specific characters.

I just checked the Dojo and you two are totally right. Huh. Fair enough, I guess we will be seeing console-specific characters. I still maintain that the bulk of the roster is going to be the same between both versions, though.

Also, I'm willing to bet right now that Mega Man is replacing Sonic on the roster and that Snake won't be back.

I'm betting we get one newcomer tomorrow, then they put in 5 more of the obvious returning characters. I don't think daily Dojo updates will start for a few months though. I honestly don't expect the game to be out until early 2015 (a delay seems inevitable to me) - so that's a lot of time to fill if they start now.

Megaman was the most predictable of the 3 new characters BY FAR.

Well, kind of... except there was a little niggle of "He's so obvious, he has to be there... but then why the hell wasn't he in Brawl?"

That's the thing; I was partly assuming that whatever kept him out of Brawl was still a factor.

Did you watch Nintendo Direct or did you jumped straight to SSB4 trailers? Also I have release date in my thread title. Believe it or not, 2014. I wouldn't be surprised if they had to delay it.

Went to bed having poured over the initial reveal, Villager and Megaman, woke up to Wii Fit Trainer. Amazing. Sakurai is nuts, I don't know why so many people were suggesting we'd get a 'safe' 'predictable' roster for this.

Brawl had 5 newcomers in the trailer for it, so another newcomer or two is not out of the question

however, I think this game will not add as many newcomers as Brawl did, so maybe not...
