yeah I bet two versions were being developed concurrently but the PS3 versions were dropped and all development was shifted to next gen instead.He said we heard about next gen to two years ago, I believe.

I just hope they thoroughly test it and deliver a smooth framerate. In the announcement trailer there were many instances where the framerate started getting choppy. In the battle trailer there are a few.

nah, the most likely scenario was that all the development up to that point 1 year ago was all shifted to next gen

I was surprised they shifted completely to next gen. This means the game probably won't be out for another 2 years, because of the install base.

When you guys look at the sky, can you not see anything but eye-searing light? I feel like I must see the actual sky different from the rest of the world, given that every single next gen game shows the entire sky as this blinding fucking blob whenever you're looking anywhere other than dead opposite the sun. Had a similar "can't see shit" moment with some of those excessive particle effects, too.

I'm personally glad that they waited so long to release it. I can't wait to get it and see it in all of its HD glory on my PS4 
I think it will be mentioned in every gaming event for maximum coverage. This is their biggest in YEARS.
I'm not expecting it at Japan Expo, but definitely TGS. Kinda hoping/thinking we'll be getting a release window there.
After all these years of little to no information, they should be releasing media on a monthly basis as repentance.

I appreciate the fact that they're trying to do something different than the turn based battle system but why would i want to play from what looks in the video to be a poor man's version of any other action game this generation? Shoddy hit detection and hack and slash that's reminiscent of Monster Hunter.

Since they have finally announced it, I'm hoping for new info at least every few months until it releases (similar to what they have done with the XIII series). And release window would be fantastic. It will decide when I get a PS4.

If this is your poor man's definition of anything, then I'd like to see what's not poor. This is not Devil May Cry and if you expect that kind of depth, you're in the wrong place. Doesn't mean it can't be super-fun like Kingdom Hearts. Please, don't troll.
And "poor hit detection", lol. We have Noctis punching people into the ground. Of course a big enemy like a Behemoth would not have too much of a reaction to a puny humans sword slashes. The hit detection does need some liberties with those kinds of enemies.

My big fear is remembering the initial Final Fantasy XIII trailer and seeing Lightning doing all these crazy attacks with a system that never made it into the final game. Please delivery FFXV.
