The art is simply amazing.

This is one of the best looking locations I've ever seen:

Absolutely jaw dropping.

I went back and looked at the 2011 Verses trailer and then XV's trailer and you can definitely tell the difference. Some of the CGI stuff is the same, but XV's trailer is just so much smoother and the scope is much greater than the 2011 trailer.

Seeing Roberto Ferrari credited for character designs was interesting. Anyone know who he is?

I wonder what designs he's responsible for versus Nomura.

He did the character designs for SQEX's iOS game Song Summoner, Moon Diver, and... Tekken...stuff? Nina Williams specifically?

Edit: And apparently Last Remnant

Yeah, it's insane. Amazing how this seemingly is just the Lucis Kingdom. To get a nice sense of scale, looks like the scene where he's running to the Leviathan is the same spot in the top right corner.

FFXV HOOK:

Noctis and Stella are the children of two rival kingdoms, (?) and Niflheim. They meet each other as children but they do not know each other's true identities. One day, Stella's father finds out about Noctis and chases him away from Stella.

Fast forward to the future when the game takes place. Stella is sent to spy on Noctis' kingdom. They encounter each other in a party. Unfortunately, Noctis doesn't remember her.

Soon after, the party is crashed by GIANT MOTHER FUCKING PLANES. Niflheim's army comes roaming in and starts to attack the entire city. City is in chaos.

Noctis and his friends conclude that it's all about the damn crystal after realizing Niflheim is declaring war on many other cities. They realize that Noctis' dad is in trouble. They go out to save his ass.

Unfortunately, Noctis' father dies. Noctis goes emo mode and sits on the thrown. Ignis tells him he'll think of a plan and return it 100fold.

Also judging from some of the trailers, Noctis is pretty brash. He either begins to realize his powers or he's never used them before and he starts to notice how powerful he can be.

Only problem is that Stella is from Tenebrae, which Niflheim is also attacking based on the new trailer. I'm having trouble figuring out how Stella fits into all of this.

fuuuuuuuuuu. I thought I got the story weaved in pretty well.

If she's from Tenebrae... and her city is getting attacked, why does she confront Noctis in one of the trailers?

From what I can see, it seems Tenebrae is being forced into aiding Niflheim for some reason, that or they have an alliance against Lucis.

So Stella is forced to fight Noctis against her will I guess.

Don't all of the nations want the crystal? Maybe she went there to save her own.

Old Tatsunoko animator who worked alongside Amano on stuff like Gatchaman and other projects

Also did designs for Moon Diver and Last Remnant

beaten, of course

The hair looks so... clumpy.

War-proof hairstyle.

Yeah. IIRC, I remember hearing a description about the situation where Noctis has to face Stella that the swords just suddenly appear when they confront each other on the city's streets, not summoned by either one, as if something else than themselves is making them fight each other and they can do nothing but comply. That's probably some of the l'cie stuff that comes with the FNC territory. I'm sure there's more to it than that, though.

I hope the game will have a big wardrobe for the characters.I like to see my character's appearance evolve based on equipment. Its like one of my gaming fetishes :3(and I like to discover them ingame Pulease! no dlc :P)

Next-gen still can't do hair.

I noticed that in the MGS5 trailer.

I noticed that games tend to look velvety next gen. This really soft appearance.Way better than wet rubber LOL

Not quite. The scene is one where Noctis runs into Stella on the street. She runs toward him, but then gets covered in black energy and draws her sword, getting very serious and angry. Noctis pulls his sword out to protect himself, and looks pretty worried as he does it.

Stella's definitely being controlled.

I do wonder if XV will still have the grabbing the mecha and stopping on enemies and the turret sections that were in the 2011 trailer.

Game looks great, but the combat looks dull and boring. Like a half ass'd hack n slash. I'd love to be wrong though.
I'm starting to feel positive that these are troll posts. If this looks like a half assed hack 'n slash, what does a good one look like? Because this pretty much wipes the floor with any and every action RPG's combat ever released from what we've seen, at least if the controls are responsive (don't see why they wouldn't be, SQEX are action RPG experts by now) and the game offers at least a hint of challenge so it doesn't become too much of a simple buttonsmasher but requires some thought and careful approach to battles & not letting your guard down too much during battles.

It looks dull? I can understand thinking it might not have substance but dull!?

Yeah, I mean just watching the combat looks so boring in the context that actually hitting enemies simply slides them or seems to have no reaction at all on the larger ones. Just makes combat look really dull.

Though I can see where that statement would be considered weird, since the player jumps around and looks all elaborate. It's really not the execution of the fighting that I find dull, just the lack of reaction in what you hit.

Edit:

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the game and I know it's still in development and I know things can change in development from experience. I just think right now there are aspects of the combat that make me feel like it would get old after a few fights.

eh...

Some of the concepts are promising but I wouldn't go that far...

3:53 if anyone is curious about the scene or just wants to rewatch it.

Warp command will certainly have a tactical function. Its insanely interesting how you could use this to platform and plan out your next move.

WTF is with this sausage fest.

really...haven't you had enough female chars for an entire generation ?? Plus stella and the other girl could be amazing impactful females. You never know. Its not like people love lightning , serah , vanille and fang this gen.

god this looks great! really excited to see a change in the combat it reminded me a little of the combat from Kingdom Hearts. Also it looked like Noctis was hiding there at the end maybe there will be stealth? Idk but that would be pretty cool. This looks like the FF main line title people have been waiting for.

Again, there's no lack of reaction. The human sized enemies get knocked around by Noctis' attacks (they do, that's undeniable) and I don't think it's somehow horrible when a massive enemy like the Behemoth doesn't react to every hit that these tiny humans inflict on it (it does to some, especially ones done with the bigger swords/weapons).
