Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

PS Home is back up, got my copies of Rymdanskel(s) and Haunt the House.
And Killzone Merc Beta which can't be used until Aug 21.
 
Holy fucking shit at that Killzone footage.

All the stuff we've seen before is kinda dark but still great. It looks beautiful in that footage. It literally looks like a PS3 game, which I guess makes sense since it's running on the Killzone 3 engine.

EDIT: Batman looks dope!
 
I think the saddest part about the Vita this year is that we can't even get iOS ports from big publishers. The recently announced 2K Drive, Vice City from Rockstar or some Final Fantasy iPad ports from Square. Not a single publisher announcement, right?

Thanks for your impressions. So seems like last E3, shitty press conference and some decent showfloor presence. At least I can't understand it this year because it was all about PS4 but why not make a separat Vita event just to show support?

You needed to pre-register to get the rewards anyways I think. There's also a PS+ and Music Unlimited trial, along with some PS3 dynamic themes.

Quick question regarding the E3 port that we were told told to expect and that loads of people had asked for last year - was that meant to be TWD (which we knew was coming anyway) or GoW HD collection, for which I can't remember seeing anyone ask for?

I should probably state that I've only played the PSP GoWs so will be good to have a chance to play the first ones, but like most others they are hardly the ports I was hoping for!

I don't think we were told to expect it at E3. We were told to expect it in general. It wasn't those games.
 
KZM looks so sick with that lighting. The guys at Guerilla Cam nailed it really.

Anyway, does anybody have any idea of what Ready at Dawn could have been working on for the past 2,5 years? Their last game was Ghost of Sparta for PSP in 2010. RaD said The Order 1886 is currently in pre-preduction so it must be something else. I wonder could it be a PS VITA game?
 
That footage of Killzone...it doesn't look"great for a handheld game". This thing would look great for a PS3 game. That's absolutely incredible and I have a hard time believing what I'm seeing. And that framerate is rock solid.

Batman looked really interesting to me, as well. Loved the dynamic camera stuff. Of course, Tearaway looked fantastic, and Epic Mickey looked surprisingly good too, although that got really terrible reviews on consoles so it's hard for me to get excited.

They've shown it at the E3 presentation, it's a steampunk shooter called The Order. Not a Vita game, no.

He means the fact that, despite their last game coming out two and a half years ago, The Order is said to be only in "pre-production". This makes him wonder if they have something else they were working on up to this point. I doubt it, personally.

In other news, still love my Vita. This conference was better than last year, though still lacking. I hope something big gets mentioned, something big before the end of the month. But yeah, not expecting anything.

Assassin's Creed Liberation has a price drop that is permanent on the EU store. It now costs €30/£25 pounds. Is it worth getting guys? Have they released more patches to make the game less buggy?

It's over 50% off here. It's less than 9 pounds with PS Plus, I'm tempted to get the game at that price. Lego games are mindless fun and the gameplay videos look pretty good of the vita version, similar to the early PS3 games.
 
has there been any demonstration or any more details about vita remote play of ps4 games? i really really want to know how well it will work. why does it seem like none of the press outlets are asking about it?

Since 400 days is included in Vita version and its one bundle not episodes i highly doubt it. Dont see why others couldnt but since these are late ports wouldnt count on it.
 
What's the consensus on Vita-GAF about Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time?

I have a long-ass flight and I'm probably going to get sick of playing MLB 13. Other suggestions are also welcome, of course.

People have yet to realize the awesomness of playing DC Universe, FF XIV and XV and KH 3 on vita. Thats why. It will come, like people suddenly realizing it with Wii U.
 
Can somebody explain what you do to get the KZ Mercenary beta code and also the PSM games on Home? I know "do quests" but I have no idea what that entails.

Did you pre-register? I believe you had to to participate.

Enter home, press start, Navigator, go to E3.

Once there, check out the Vita booth to get a Vita. Then go to the Quest Counter (big square in the middle-area between both halves) and it'll tell you what to do one at a time. Typically checking out a booth, watching a video taking a photo (all of which is immediately cancellabe), doing a quiz back at the counter, or most annoyingly Key/Eye scavenger hunts. Each time you report back to the counter you get your reward.

Most important tip is to look upwards for the big blue glowy bits that tell you where to go without having to search.
 
Keep up the good vibes my Vita gaffers. This is awesome! Not as good as we hoped, but we're getting some quality games. KZ Merc looks incredible.

If you like 3D platformers or Sly 2/3 you will get your moneys worth, it's a good game. There's a couple of framerate issues that happen in certain areas/worlds which can be really bad at times, but from what I hear the PS3 version suffers the same issues.

All games I'll be buying day one. I realize many of these are ports and all of them are available elsewhere, but for me it's perfect. More releases I'm interested in than any other platform. The videos posted earlier in this thread are awesome.
 
Hey guys I preordered a PS4. I am thinking the Remote Play of the Vita, especially since it is required (?) for PS4 games, would make this a good device for me for when my wife is watching TV and I just want to hang out with her.

I have not kept up with this system (or any really in a while). Is this thing a wasteland? Is Sony abandoning it?


Edit: oops, wrong thread? Is this THE vita thread?
