Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Continuing my random train of thought on this game, seeing as Bowser is being slightly revamped I wonder if Wario will get a similar treatment to be more "land like", and i'm not just talking about his moves here but rather his movements in general, all this G&W talk reminded me that Wario moves in a rather bizarre few frames like fashion himself in Brawl.

Actually the Kremlings are fair game including K.Rool, they've all turned up numerous times in recent years after Rare left, DK spin-offs like Konga, Barrel Blast and the two Climber games all featured K.Rool. And even a few Mario spinoffs have some Kremlings as well, Strikers has Kritter Keepers, Baseball had K.Rool and Kritters.

No, the Kremlings are 100% owned by Nintendo.

Oh okay, gotcha. Hmmmm, interesting, for some reason I thought the Kremlings were owned by Rare. Oh well. Maybe that means he will make an appearance after all!

I could see them giving Ike's moveset to Chrom. Chrom certainly had powerful-looking moves in Awakening. Perhaps that's what will happen -- Marth will always be the mainstay, while the most recent Lord will get second slot.

Of course, they could retain Ike as a rep of the last console FE, and add Chrom as the portable rep. It'd be fitting, since the WiiU and 3DS games are playing homage to console and portable titles with their stage selection, at least. Remains to be seen if "same amount of characters" means the same characters or same number thereof.

We could see a Pair Up character, rolling Chrom and Lucina into one.

Or we could see a wildcard character like Tharja, beloved among the dev team at IntSys. She'd offer interesting potential as a ranged spellcaster.

Hmm...

From the developer direct I think I have Mega Man for the most part figured out;

Jab: Mega Buster
Dash: Top Spin
Side Tilt: Mega Buster (can move and shoot)
Up Tilt: Mega Upper
Down Tilt: Slide
Side Smash: Charge Shot
Up Smash: Spark Shot
Down Smash: Flame Blast

Neutral Air: Mega Buster
Forward Air: Flame Sword
Back Air: Slash Claw
Up Air: ??? (only one I don't think we've seen)
Down Air: Hard Knuckle

Neutral Special: Metal Blade
Side Special: Crash Bomber
Up Special: Rush Coil
Down Special: Leaf Shield

Grab: Super Arm

And no Final Smash seen yet either I suppose.

Up air is what megaman does after the shoryuken in MVC, or possibly an air-man attack. He does it at the end of this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=qJmzalIXRKw#t=96s

at around the 96 second mark, he shoots a blue thing straight up through the platform. Possible to combo it after mega upper would be my guess.

I see the GST being Pit's new Final Smash, and I'm still banking on the classic GST as a way to add Brawl Pit to the roster (except being heavier and stronger)

There doesn't need to be a classic Pit, Pit in this one seems to be mostly the same save for like three new moves. Bowser was more fully revamped than he was.

Oh, nice catch. That does look like all of his attacks save for the FS are accounted for then.

i can only hope ssb4 also has car-based cutscenes

What do you mean how? Probably just set it in the settings, which one you want to use. That's how Mario Tennis works.

So you would only be able to use one Mii and not different Miis? That sucks.

I see the Mega Man fans are coming out of the woods since their character is seemingly not cancelled
for now
.

Who didn't want Mega Man? And whoever isn't happy with it is a nutcase.

ROB's gotta go!

WHY?.jpg

He had shitty moves, but it was always a good inclusion, he is part of nintendo's history. I hope they change a little his moves, and Im sure the character is going to stay.

I'm uneasy about Mii being a character.

They are showing one people wanted (Little Mac), one that has to be probably becuase sakurai thinks is important part of nintendo's history (the Mii, and he can change the face to what you want), and the second third party (PacMan, becuase it was obvious becuase of Namco)

It makes sense they are showing this ones the first. Im sure there will be more surprises during dojos life.

If Little Mac is indeed one of the reveals, I hope it's Punch-Out Wii's Little Mac.
That would certainly seem most likely, given the trend of sticking with the most recent depiction of the character (I.E. Other M Samus, etc).

I think Little Mac has interesting character potential. Imagine a Down Special where he sits on a stool while Doc Louis towels him down and dispenses advice, replenishing health. Or a Forward Special where Doc Louis dashes forward on his bike, steamrolling enemies while Little Mac jogs behind. Imagine an Up Special Star Punch uppercut... Maybe a jump rope attack... And of course Giga Mac for the Final Smash.

With the boxing arena already being a level, it seems obvious Little Mac is in. When people think "boxing" and "Nintendo," Punch-Out immediately comes to mind as gaming's most famous boxing series.

Little Mac is pretty meh. Pac Man is awesome but in the reveal trailer should have been him and Mega Man. Hardcore. Mii is expected pretty meh.

How is Little Mac meh? The main character of Nintendo's alternative fighting game not being in their main fighting game simply makes no sense -- plain and simple. I mean, it's like the main character of Nintendo's alternative racing game not being in their main racing game. Can you imagine Mario Kart without Captain Falcon?

Wait.

Does anyone think that boxing ring looking stage shown in the trailers are from Punchout.
The colors of the ropes, the posts, the location of the signs, etc, all match up with Punch-Out. It's just the references to the WVBA that have been changed to Smash references.

I'm just curious as to how he would work ? Since well what do Mii's actually do apart from stand around, wave and smile ? (not bieng rhetorical here). Maybe they'll give him moves that come from the games he has been in, (i.e a tennis racket or a kart style move) But that's not very unique. Just have to wait and see I guess.

Speaking of Nintendo fighting game characters:

Do it, Sakurai.

There's a simple explanation for this: Punch-Out!! is comprised of a bunch of different circuits, right? This new stage could very well be named "Smash Circuit" while still being categorized as a Punch-Out!! level.

People can't automatically assume that Little Mac is a playable character because his stage is in. Animal Crossing had a stage in Brawl without a character.

That being said, I think it's pretty likely that he will be a character.

Like Smashville being the AC level -- true.

Another possibility: There might be multiple arena-based Nintendo characters joining the fray. Not just Little Mac, but also...

If they had Punch-Out AND Pro Wrestling reps, a "Smash Circuit" would seem even more appropriate, since it's not tied to either and yet it fits both.

That's the stuff.

Also, people over at Rockman Corner and The MM Network are going nuts over the announcement. This has truly brought new hope in the Mega Man community. :')

It's a sad day when nintendo is bringing more hope to the mega man community than capcom.

Hype it alll the way up lads you lot deserve it tbh.

I think people are assuming because someone who leaked Villager and Wii Fit Trainer also said Little Mac and Mii were in.

Well, if you had been told yesterday that Wii Fit trainer would have been revealed, would you have known how she would have worked? Sakurai will think of something. Plus, the Miis have been around for 7 years, and they've been in a lot of stuff. I can already envision a Mii Parade Stampede as a Final Smash.

Nothing would make me happier than Little Mac showing up. I was so disappointed when he was just a trophy in Brawl. If there's one guy in Nintendo cadre of franchises tailor-made for fighting, it'd have to be him.

Now watch it be Super Nintendo ugly duckling Little Mac

Im actually thinking exactly this, if you try to watch carefully theres a word on the top and another word on the bottom of the smash logo. The top one if IRC is smash, so the one down could be circuit.

I would have liked if there was still VGBA logos on the post though :(

That individual also leaked Mega Man (although if you're saying Villager and WFT were unexpected, I agree).

For those who aren't aware, the full leak list by the individual, posted on GAF the night before the Direct, and shared with Gemantsu even earlier, went as follows:

- Villager
- Mega Man
- Wii Fit Trainer
- Mii
- Little Mac
- Pac-Man

These were described to Gemantsu as the "E3 reveals." Gemantsu then withheld them until after the Direct, since at that point half of the predictions were confirmed.

However, even if the predictions are true -- and they seem likely -- it's NOT a guarantee they'll be revealed at E3. They might've prepped E3 trailers for all of them, but decided on a wait-and-see approach, playing by the ear with people's expectations and hype levels.
