Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Perfection.

Sonic should have had the same treatment in Brawl (as in: CLASSIC Sonic instead of Modern Sonic). Alas, Sega.

Not that Capcom's any better, lol :(

The difference being Sonic didn't join the Nintendo crew until his "modern" self while Megaman was born on Nintendo systems.

So what's the deal with Samus this time around? I remember in the Nintendo Direct they said she was designed based off of Other M Samus? Never played Other M but I know a lot of people hated Samus in that game. Some fans might not be too happy bout that.

Is she gonna be short-haired Samus? And more importantly, will she talk? :3

While I am no fan of Other M's Samus design, the Smash redesign of it actually makes the suit look kinda good. Not as plasticy and sterile. Like someone with actual artistic ability redesigned it. Still would have preferred the Brawl look or the Prime 2/3 look, but this is good enough.

Zero Suit Samus won't be the short haired design though, that only appears in flashbacks. Her Zero Suit design in Other M looks like this:

So she'll look something like this then. This design I actually prefer to the Brawl design (mostly for the toned down hair, removal of the silly individual boob pockets, and the holster) save for one key difference that makes me hate it:

These stupid goddamned heels. How do they even fit in her Power Suit?

Maybe the Smash gods will smile upon me and remove them for her Smash appearance.

Not to mention, it makes no sense. Why would you have heels unless you're dressing up? I always thought the Zero Suit was supposed to be a utilitarian thing.

So what do you guys think about Lucario and Ike returning?

Both are not really relevant anymore, but both were unique characters and popular at the time.

Honestly, I want both to return, but they did cut Mewtwo, despite him being unique (I'd also love to have Mewtwo back)

Can't say I'm not disappointed, given how mind-blowing Brawl's reveal was. But still pretty cool. Not as soul crushing as 3D World at least.

Expected, but really glad Mega Man got in.

Brawl's reveal showed more characters and characters long overdue for Smash bros (Wario, Metaknight and Pit) plus the huge reveal of a third party character.

That's also ignoring the epic music and the reveal of a huge, dynamic level.

No clue what they'll do about Ike. Hell just Fire Emblem in General is a wild card now due to awakenings popularity. I'd figure they'd just reskin Ike and Marth to whoever the closest awakening characters would be.

Lucario is out. Make way for gen 6 rep.

As popular as Awakening is no way will they represent Fire Emblem with only characters from it. That's a terrible way to represent a series with as long of a history as Fire Emblem; just a complete shitting on the fans of the older titles.

And Marth is never, ever going anywhere.

Ike was unique, gameplay wise, so i'd like to keep him. Lucina/chrom can replace marth, but it'd be nice if they were exchangeable skins.

Lucario can be replaced by mewthree or whatever he's called, since lucario basically replaced mewtwo.

Fire Emblem is a huge conundrum. Nintendo seems to consider Marth the original and permanent official main mascot of the series, in Awakening no one ever shuts up about how Marth was this ultimate most legendary king of kings in the mythos despite many of the other main protagonists existing in that lore as well. But at the same time they introduced a new popular character who uses his likeness and is fit to replace him.

And besides that situation, there's still the choice of either replacing Ike with Chrom, or having Ike AND Chrom AND Marth or Marth's replacement, and having THREE blue haired sword dudes around? Not to mention if there's any possibility of Roy returning as well. Sure makes me wish they had more FE lords that at least used spears.

I simply cannot comprehend people who want Marth gone in exchange for 'Marth'.

Does anyone else think it was kind of funny how Star Fox as a series got such high billing in the reveal trailer? I mean, I know why--Fox is on of Smash's biggest mainstays. But I just thought it was funny, considering how much the series has fallen by the wayside in comparison to the other franchises in the opening montage.

Especially when you consider Marth being in smash bros is the only reason Fire Emblem is even known outside of Japan and even was localized.

They'll just give him a costume to look like that other dude, if even.

I forgot that new form of Mewtwo existed lol. That's going to take some time to... adjust to. I hope if it gets in it has an alternate "classic" style so I don't have to care about new fangled pokamathingies.

I was wondering why Fox is basically his Brawl model, then it occurred to me he's the only vet in that trailer to not have a game come out since Brawl was released...

Or get rid of Ike, and have both Chrom and Marth's replacement together in a Pair Up, akin to the Ice Climbers (with the ability to swap the primary character on the fly). I know I've said it at least two other times in this thread, but I honestly think it's a great idea.

They'll definitely not replace Marth. Marth is the series, really. Ike and even Roy though? Awakening characters baby.

Fire Emblem is big enough to support 4 characters. If Star Fox can get 3, FE can easily get 4.

Marth in his Brawl form, Ike is unique already, Roy is Marth without his Brawl updates and maybe some more unique firey attacks and some Awakening character.

Having a series represented in Smash Bros where half their cast is refreshed with the "flavor of the month" is kind of annoying to people who are more of a fan of Smash Bros than Fire Emblem (like me :x)

Sakurai tweeted something about Palutena

Google Translate:

Confirmed for Smash?

Uh, no.

The daily image is a habit that has continued on from Kid Icarus Uprising for the staff to enjoy. This time, we made them public. Of course, all the images are 'in-development'. You can see some of the daily images from KI:Uprising in my 'Things I Think About Making Games' column.

Seems they did this sort of thing with KI, but didn't make it public. Kid Icarus is known as Palutena's Mirror in Japan, which is where the confusion comes from, I guess.
