Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Still not a huge fan of Command Fox with oversized animu head

Me either. First time I saw that I felt like puking. The head was going that way since Assault.

It's been explained many times in the thread that reduced probably doesn't mean less characters. Many, many times.

It's an ambiguous statement that could mean anything from tweaking the characters differently in each version to limiting the size of the overall roster in some fashion. We have no specifics.

Guys, in his very next statement he's talking about the number of characters.

Sakurai via kotaku said:
"So we're forced into the situation where we may need to reduce some characters to a certain degree. but we're really working hard in order to include as many characters as possible."

Of course that's what he's talking about, or he's at least strongly suggesting it.

Now I suppose you could look at this in a way that says "we're sorry we can't make deep and interesting characters because of the 3DS, so here's many more simple characters that won't challenge the 3DS", but simply put, it looks quite like he's referring to the amount of characters with that second statement.

Actually the guy in the brawl thread linked an entire gallery of the wii fit girl.

Got a link if that is what you are into. 4 chan is a weird place.

I am about git rid of that 4 chan history , as I always do with 4chan , so act fast.

Guys, let's talk about this comment some more:

My inquiry about Namco Bandai characters did lead Sakurai to ask me a question in return - if I had to pick one character, which Namco Bandai character would I want in Super Smash Bros.? The answer seemed obvious to me - the original arcade version of Pac-Man. Sakurai then asked me what a Final Smash might look like for that, and we started to discuss how how Pac-Man could become super-powered, and chase other characters around a stage, attempting to eat them. It was a surreal discussion to say the least, but shows that Sakurai is always contemplating what else he might add to his projects, packing them full of as much content as possible.
That's not just shooting the shit. Sakurai is totally feeling out expectations for Pac-Man because Pac-Man is in the game.

That's not necessarily true, reducing the characters "to a certain degree" could mean anything especially in translation. The last sentence about wanting to include the maximum number of characters could just be a "well that sucks, but there is also this" sort of thing.

Yeah, I think that was a really interesting comment. It's weird that Sakurai would actually start up a discussion like that; I wonder if it was passed along to him that Pac-Man has been leaked (assuming the rumor is true).

A part of me thinks they've decided against showing the rest of the six because they heard it was leaked and because hype levels are so high on the three they've revealed as is. :-\

You know, Sakurai talking about how much of a hassle guest characters are is making me wonder whether they will just do a character once for a Smash game, and then for the next game pick other 3rd party characters. (similar to how other fighting game series handle their guest characters)

Do you really think they're aware it leaked? It's not being reported anywhere big

Gematsu, the site that was told the six that were planned the week before E3, is a fairly big site, and they reported it as soon as Villager, Mega Man and Wii Fit Trainer were unveiled.

Good god I've got multiple complaints today about creepy posts in here. Stop making creepy posts that make other people uncomfortable. It is insane that this is the second Nintendo-related thread we've had to warn about in the last month. Can't you be fans of something without "ironically" posting links to sexual stuff? Good god. Go do it on another site or on IRC or not at all.

"BUT HOW DO I KNOW IF MY POST IS CREEPY?!?!?!?! I DON'T THINK IT'S CREEPY!!!! IT'S JUST A JOKE"

Oh my god be considerate of other people. Put yourself in their shoes. If it's linking to sexualized pictures of Nintendo characters, "jokingly" talking about sexualized Nintendo characters, whatever it is, it's making people uncomfortable. Now you know, and if you're not a sociopath, your reaction will be empathy to those you're making uncomfortable instead of getting defensive, complaining about people complaining, etc.

Next complaint we get, thread will be locked.

I completely understand the sexualized thing, but what about creepy in terms of those images of Villager depicting him as mass murderer? Are those "okay creepy" (for lack of better terms)?

In general if the context is arising naturally out of the content made available in the game, and if it's not sexual, then you're doing OK. Pretty clearly Nintendo's objective with the AC Villager was to juxtapose the innocence of the series with, ya know, beating people up, so that's logical and in-context. If it's just random sexual jokes or images, you're not doing OK. Please do not PM us with any clarification requests as to what side of the line something falls, just exercise judgment.

They are just talking about the sexualized stuff. He makes it pretty clear...

Are you trying to start a sexuality versus violence thing?

Alright, you heard the man.

CUT IT OUT WITH CREEPY THINGS! If you have urge to do then try to contain it and not post here. I would appreciate it very much if you don't post creepy things.

Alright, thank you. I just wanted to make sure those were on the safe side. :)

No, not at all! My question was sincere and I had no intention of sparking any other discussion beyond that. I just wanted to make sure, since some of the images are rather grim (like, that one fanart where the guy literally decapitates Mario). That's all!

Is it just me or does anyone else dislike Pit's character model in the Wii U version? His face looks really thin and he doesn't look like a HD upgrade compared to the rest of the characters.
