Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Please don't get us locked guys. Tone it down with the psycho villager stuff.

I'm still somewhat surprised that more characters weren't revealed at E3. I hope we get some more character reveals soon....
 
So I'm wondering if there was any reason in the trailer showed that we didn't get to see Samus finish her Final Smash. Could it be that ZSS is a completely separate character or maybe not in the game at all?

Probably just didn't want to reveal ZSS early.

How long did it take for the dojo to update with regular Samus despite her being in the original trailer of Brawl? I remember people actually got worried about her inclusion.

I'm a little disheartened, honestly. Five Brawl newcomers were revealed six months into development, but we're over a year into this game and they only announced three newcomers. That doesn't bode well for the total count.

A damn shame, and particulary ugly for him since a lot of the playtesting of the series is done by himself, the worst part of that particular illness is that he wont fully recover unless he takes a prolonged break and/or surgery.
 
Was this posted yet? Sakurai says that Smash 4 will be striking a good balance for both casual and hardcore players.

"I would consider the changes that we're making this time around not as fixes, but that we're changing the direction," he said through a translator. "And so the vision for the overall balance of the game in Smash Bros Melee, it was sort of more focused towards more hardcore players. Then when it came around to making Brawl, this was a game that was targeting a Wii audience where there were a lot of beginner players, so it sort of leaned a little bit more in that direction."

"So now, for this time around, we're sort of aiming for something that is in between those as far as the speed of the game. Because I don't really think this time we're in a situation where we're trying to accommodate that many new players."

We might get Smash Bros. anime shorts like Uprising if Sakurai decides to promote the game like that again.

I love Sakurai so much. I generally compartmentalize my feelings toward a creator as "appreciating their work," but you can't convince me the sheer amount of warmth and love in Kid Icarus Uprising wasn't the purest expression of a man who has the heart of a child and a soul of gold.

Funny. It goes to each console's aim as well.

Gamecube was aimed at more gamers, so Melee.
Wii was aimed at newcomers and the "casual" audience, so Brawl.
Wii U is trying to be inbetween, so is Smash 4.

Speaking of KIU-style promotions, imagine if each copy of the 3DS game came with AR cards, and each copy of the WiiU game came with miniature NFC toys...

Is this a meta commentary on the jack of all trades and unfocused nature of the WiiU and 3DS? :p
 
The only Kid Icarus short worth the bother was SHAFT's. 4C's was too much srs bsns and Nintendo's in-house animators have proven they can do much better CG than anyone at Production I.G.
 
I didn't grow up with Mega Man, but I'm keenly interested to try the series thanks to his Smash inclusion. What games would help me best appreciate his Smash presence?

I know exactly how you feel, man. Sakurai has been my game designer since Melee and I love the dedication he puts into his games.

Uprising completely blew away my former high expectations for the game. It was so good.
 
Hmm I remember seeming a mod adapter thingy for the Wii U to use a GameCube controller on a Wii remote

I wonder if you can use it in the next smash bros (although the controls will probably be diff :/)

I hope the "console version has stages from console games" rule doesn't exclude KIU -- I'd love to see, say, the Reset Bomb Forest or the Pirate Ship as a stage in the WiiU version.

Or they could make a catch-all stage that simply represents many elements from the series... Call it Underworld and make it a counterpart to Brawl's Skyworld.

I played and loved Meteos on the DS, a Nintendo system! Has Smash-style menus, too -- such is his signature, I suppose!
