Sooo...anybody actually gotten Uncharted 3 to work with just the Single Player Experience and 2D movies installs? I finally downloaded and installed both, but no Uncharted 3 game icon appears in the game section. Do I have to install more? I don't know how much room I have left...

I dl'd it over night and it was installed in the morning. I have two bubbles (that I'll delete) for Language pack and 3d movies, game was under those.

You also have to download the 4 gig mp pack. I did the same as you, and once the mp was downloaded the UC3 icon appears.

Thanks! I had actually already thought to try this, and it's d/ling now, but I'm relieved to know that this will actually do the trick. My PS3 has been downloading since Tuesday and I really want it to work! I wonder if the multiplayer will still include the ads or whatever they added for the free to play version, since this is supposed to be a "paid" version of the game.

Anyway, looks like this upgrades the actual required free space to play the game to around 54GB since you have to have the MP pack as well.

The multiplayer still has ads. They are only giving the single player portion of UC3 away for free. It's similar to what they did with StarHawk.

I have a question I have a UK plus account but I'm in the US and buying PS4 over here do I still have to pay for plus in America to play MP because someone in this thread just said once you have it on one account you have it on all accounts and the PS4 isn't region locked. Just wondering?

Going to buy 90 days of PSN+ today to try it out. If I like it and buy a full year, will it carry over when I get my PS4?

And one more question, I dont want it to automatically renew. I want to make that decision myself, how do I make it not charge me after the 90 days are over?

It will carry over. And to stop-auto-renew go to account settings, services and take it from there.

Interesting.

So I downloaded the Single-Player and 2D movies for Uncharted 3.

I freaked out earlier today because I couldn't find the usual little bubbles that are ready for installation. I then remembered I had downloaded the Uncharted 3 F2P multiplayer a while back and it was actually tucked away in there. Weird how that works.

Maybe I'm imagining things. Does the U3 single-player and 2D movies not need manual installation?

Thanks, bought it now and downloading LittleBigPlanet Karting! How often do they give out new games?

Are you in the US or EU, as they have different update schedules. Check the Plus OT and it has calendars and all. But they update weekly, not always free games weekly, sometimes two at a time, sometimes none in a week.

If you have Plus, do games and stuff install overnight like how they do patches?

If you have them queued to download yes. They will download and install and be ready to boot up. Sadly patches are not auto-downloaded until you boot a game the first time.

automatically installed for me last night after starting the download before going to bed.

Maybe my memory is hazy, but I'm pretty sure Sony pushed out a few demos when ps+ was new. They seem to have stopped doing that though, people probably complained.

Wife and I just bought a 3-month card, feelsgoodman.jpg.

Did some of the Home bullshit to get the Destiny theme since I was just using a FF13-2 theme, which was the only theme I had since I don't use the PS3 much >_>. Currently copying all of my saves to the cloud (because why not), got auto-updates turned on, then once this cloud stuff is done going to grab all of the currently free stuff. I shouldn't have looked at the listing of free previous games, super salty about a few of the recent ones I missed like Vanquish, but ah well. We decided to do this now because I kinda wanted to check out Sound Shapes and she really wanted Unfinished Swan, and with the Plus discount on both games right now that literally paid for the 3-month membership anyway. Good times.

Hey guys I recently got a white PS3 with "LBP, R&C, and Infamous 2" on the box. It says I get those games on the box but when I signed up for PSN which came with a 1 year sub, I cant download those games.

I understand that it changes each month, and some fall off after a while so you cant download if you sub late. However, since they are on the box that I purchased, would sony honor them if I called them or would they say "tough titty"?

Does anyone know what's up with the vita's plus plan? Im waiting for god eater
PSP/PSN game is usually released on the 2nd to last Tuesday of the month, PSV game on the last Tuesday of the month. So GE should be released on the 18th, VLR on the 25th.

I doubt you would get them, there's probably some fine print on the box that says the games could be rotated out at any time. It doesn't hurt to try though.

I wouldn't be surprised if it says somewhere on it "Games are subject to change" or something like that. They only just changed this Tuesday.

A couple of quick questions:

-I activated Plus on my account, but my wife has her own account on the same system, she still has the same access to all of the stuff right? Would I just have to do any actual downloading or account stuff on my account, but she would still have access to everything once it's actually on the console I'm assuming?

-I downloaded a couple of games and set it to background download, but then turned off the PS3 before they were done, does the PS3 auto-complete those then shut off like 360 does, or is that an option I can turn on anywhere?

I believe when the games are set to expire ("Expires soon"), they're taken off the 2nd Tuesday of every month, when Plus' free library is refreshed.

1. She will have the same access, just as long as the original Plus account, yours, is still on the system, she's golden.

2. If you're downloading something, and want the PS3 to auto-shutoff after downloading/installing, go to System Settings > Turn Off System > check the box before you say yes to shutting down. I believe the box asks if you want to shut down after games finish or something like that. The PS3 will download and install all queued games, then shut down automatically once done.

*edit* Shit, double post. Sorry.

When do they switch out the games, the first of the month? I wanna sign up for psn+ finally but the current games suck >.>
The schedule is posted up on the blog the Monday before the first Tuesday of each month. This is the rotation for June:
Leaving PS Plus In June
  • June 4th – Sleeping Dogs
  • June 11th – Closure
  • June 11th – Ratchet & Clank All 4 One
  • June 11th – inFAMOUS 2
  • June 11th – LittleBigPlanet 2
  • June 18th – SOULCALIBUR: Broken Destiny
  • June 25th – BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND

Entering PS Plus in June (in no particular order)
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PS3)
  • Machinarium (PS3)
  • Saints Row: The Third (PS3)
  • Gods Eater Burst (PSP, compatible with PS Vita)
  • Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward (PS Vita)

Next month they'll most likely dump Deaus Ex (7/2), God Eater (7/23), VLR (7/30), & possibly Joe Danger and Vanquish.

Another thing to keep in mind, the games announced right before E3 (Uncharted 3, LBP Karting, & XCOM) are gonna be available on the service till next E3. A similar thing also applies to the core games of the Vita collection (Uncharted, Gravity Rush, & Wipeout). In November those 3 games are gonna pulled for 3 new games that will stick around for 1 year.

- She will have access to the games as long as you download them and your account is on the system. When she uses her account she won't have access to the deals, the PSN avatars, the cloud save uploads, and I want to say the Automatic Updates but I'm not 100% on that.

- You have to turn it off via the XMB (User column -> 'Turn off system' at the very top -> turn off once download completes). Alternatively, if you enable Automatic Updates it will boot up your console at at the designated time and resume any unfinished downloads.

Rad, thanks guys! I had turned on automatic updates, so when I woke up this morning it had finished all of my downloads. I also really like that the system tells you what patches it applied when you boot up. It IS kinda weird that it doesn't apply patches for things you have on the system but haven't booted up apparently though; I just booted up Sound Shapes (which was one of the games that downloaded overnight) and it required me to download an update. If the game required an installation first I could see that, but just weird that it didn't grab the patch for this automatically, or maybe it would have tomorrow, it just can't download the game AND patches at the same time overnight? Not a big deal either way though. When I get home tonight gonna log in through the webstore to grab all of the current free games.

Oh yeah, is there any way to see what size HDD you currently have in the system? I couldn't find it anywhere. This is a ~5 year old system that just has the HDD it came with in it, and I have no idea how big it is except that it's probably pretty small. Not gonna happen short term, but I'm really going to need to upgrade this thing at some point, I think it might be a 40gig?

I think the patch auto download is set to work on the last 5 games you've played.

Oh okay, that makes some sense. The fact that Journey was in my last 5 games played probably gives you an idea how much I've played the PS3, since I haven't played it since the day it came out >_>.

Thanks again for the help with the newbie questions guys, I'm on board!

I wonder what those will be; I'd fear by then they'd be running out of high-profile Vita titles to release. Assuming, of course, they want to stay well clear of the newest ones. But then... Gravity Rush was only a month or two old when it was added, wasn't it?

I think it's the last 10 games you've played wich auto-updates. And I think SCEE also pushes Gran Turissmo updates, I've probably played a few dozen games since that, but I still see it updating alot. :P

Haha, don't make me believe we can get Killzone and Tearaway. My heart can't take it.

somebody help me out here:

yesterday I've started the UC3 download and left it downloading and installing overnight.

now I'm sitting in front of my PlayStation... no download, no install bubble, no game.

but my HDD lost about 34GB of space.

what am I missing?

euro account btw.

yelp!

I have a 30 day EU plus code..

PM me if you want it.. you must not have had Plus before, and have an EU PSN account for it to work.

Going by the comments on the blog there is apparently something wrong with the UC3 download. If you had the multiplayer mode from before you should be able to start the game from there.

You need to download the multiplayer separately to play the game. You probably just downloaded the 12 GB single player file that is now sitting on your PS3 being completely useless on its own.

So this new PN+ paywall is for the PS3 as well?

Nope.

Why didn't you guys tell me about this PS+ thing months ago! Little disappointed that I didn't get some of the older games on the freebie list. Oh well, time to stock up on some past exclusives I never bothered with.

This way will show what you have left for space and the HD size. By "upgrade" I hope you mean upgrading the hard drive and not "upgrading" to a whole new PS3, to get a larger hard drive.

Navigate to the "Settings" menu on your Cross Media Bar.

Scroll down to the "System Settings" option and select it.

Scroll to "System Information" and select it.

The amount of free space available and HD size can be seen.

I bought the GOTY version of U3 months ago. I want to use the PSN version that's available now, but will my online pass and GOTY stuff work with this version?

So ... this is going to sound really stupid ... but, what can't I find my Uncharted 3 install? I've downloaded the entire thing twice! I have my games in folder view.

I've had the f2p multiplayer for a while. I tried selecting that and nothing is there for single player. I literally can't find it. Never had this happen before.
