Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Did anyone know that Footstool is still in the game? I saw a thread at other forum and they said that it's in.
I noticed it when browsing through the press kit. Didn't think it was important enough to mention.

some people will tell you that the "ooh metal blade is overpowered" or "blah blah it's effective against like 80% of the enemies and bosses how boring"

do not listen to these people

it fires

in

eight

directions

yes

let the blade take over

there is no shame in defeating those too weak to stand against it
Wow this blade is useful against these mini-frogs the big frog spits out, lol. I can hit them mid-air!

Was this posted yet? Sakurai says that Smash 4 will be striking a good balance for both casual and hardcore players.

Thank you Jason for asking him! I look forward to the answers to the other questions.

Edit: Oh it seems like it was. Oh well, I was gone for a few hours.

Great news!

I am hoping against all odds that it's the Mach Rider.

Damn, that's a great pick. I never thought of that one after all these years for some reason.

I think Takamaru being in the game is a near certainty. Didn't Sakurai say around the time Brawl released that they strongly considered him?

Although he did show up in Captain Rainbow (who also better be in this game).

I like it.

HOLY SHIT THE METAL BLADE FIRES IN ALL DIRECTIONS

Overpowered? Should I stick with pew-pew?
Metal Blade is super good, but can remove some of the experience (like the little frogs - you don't have to shoot them with your bb gun now).

My order will always be

Metal Man -> Bubble Man -> Flash Man -> Wood Man -> Air Man -> Quick Man -> Crash Man -> Heat Man
Flash Man is always penultimate for me because his stage kills me so much. :-(

Crash Man has always felt random and beats the crap out of me, but I always win somehow. Heat Man is last, and the rest I fight in whatever order I feel like.

So long as footstools are techable now, I'm okay with them. If there's increased hitstun, more characters may have footstool combo options other than pretty much just Snake and Pikachu.

I'm going after my third boss, Flashman, and this stage is more slippery than a Bubsy game.

Hey, it seems like different health bars are tied to different suits?

In MM2, I usually go
Airman -> Crashman -> Flashman -> Quickman -> Metalman -> Bubbleman -> Heatman -> Woodman
.

I just feel dirty if I use Metal Blade. Also, I generally do buster-only runs.

I always go Airman first too. My first impression as a kid was that he was the weakest.

Hey, I'm just on Stage 4 (Woodman is who I picked), and I tried the Flashman weapon, and the screen froze, and a separate meter ran out, and now I can't use it anymore...?

Also, I have this new red suit powerup -- I don't know which boss I got it from -- but it spawns mini-platforms?

Normal. I always go with the default difficulty the first time around. I'm sticking to my pew-pew for the time being.

These giant firebreathing blue robo-dogs in Woodman's stage are TITS.

Total Commander Keen vibes.
Normal difficulty is a lie added by Capcom USA because "American players are bad at video games." Difficult is the only difficulty mode in Rockman 2 in Japan. Normal mode is an absolute joke and makes the Mega Buster significantly stronger among other ridiculous balance changes that make the game a pushover.

Yup, mega man 2 is by FAR, I mean FAAR, the easiest Megaman game in the entire series. Boss health levels were so low in that game even on hard.
Edit: meant to say 2

Oh really? Damn. Well, I'll treat this as training!

WHO PUTS FIRE-BREATHING DOGS IN A HIGHLIY FLAMMABLE FOREST.

You probably didn't notice that because Metal Blades barely drain its meter. You have to pick up the blue things while having the weapon equipped to refill it.

While I usually play the default as well, I think the harder difficulty is actually the original. IIRC, Normal mode is more like easy mode in MM2.

EDIT: Beaten

Do you guys think that the currently announced Super Smash Bros. titles are placeholder names? Because they certainly sound placeholder to me.

Then again, the third Smash Bros. game was revealed as Super Smash Bros. Brawl, not as Super Smash Bros. for Wii.

Personally, I feel that adding the word "Wii U" to the title actually devalues the game to "core" gamers, as the Wii brand has negative connotations associated with it to that audience.

Was an article posted a bit back that confirmed them as the actual names I believe.

Not really a fan but eh
