Nah. Maybe in six years for the next Smash. Look at the Animal Crossing villager. He isn't based on the 3DS game. If the 3DS Animal Crossing was too new for this Smash, a game that hasn't even come out yet certainly won't be getting representation.

But... the 3DS Animal Crossing isn't too new. His design seems to be based on the villager on the cover of City Folk, but watch the Smash 4 reveal trailer and you can clearly see that it uses elements from New Leaf like Isabelle, Tom Nook's new outfit, and the look of the Villager's house and mailbox.

The viking's already have a lot of personality by virtue of being actual cartoon animals instead of walking bongos. I just hope they don't boil-down to being model-swaps of the Tiki's, which in turn many of them came across as proxies for older DKC drones.

The only good thing about that mode was the cinematics and the bosses. If they make a single player mode that, you know, have Nintendo characters as enemies and maps that looks like they're from a Nintendo franchise, it might be more interesting.

The single best thing out of subspace mode was the Kirby cutscene. I practically got tears in my eyes when he came flying out of the distance. ( ")7

The ones we've seen in the demo levels don't have their viking hats, but the ones that do will probably be the higher-tier generals that appear sparingly, requiring you to throw things at them or avoid them altogether.

Lol, I'm not sure I would call that "intimidating" but I do think the Vikings have the right vibe for DKC. They convey the same sort of goofiness as the Kremlings. Much better than the personality-free Tiki Tak Tribe.

I figure that DKC's final character will be Kiddy Kong (the last returning playable character from the classic series), Funky Kong or Cranky Kong (because they're popular and haven't been playable).

The hate for Subspace Emissary for having original characters seems weird to me. I've heard barely any complaints about all of the characters with made-up movesets or the final bosses of the first two games being original. They should retire the iconic Falcon Punch because it's not from the game either.

Admittedly, Subspace Emissary would have been improved a lot if they made it play closer to Kirby Super Star. Disable percentage-based knockback, rely completely on the stamina rule instead.

The funny thing is, there are actually a few hackers I've seen trying to import those Gmod pony models into Brawl, but I can't get over how horribly they clash with the Brawl style, and yet, here, with the slightly less realistic textures and brighter colors, they look to fit in much better.

It will be fun to see Brawl hackers attempt to make something like "Project 4" and try to convert everything over.

Edit: Yeah, that new fire Peach looks great.

I saw this on GameFAQs and thought it was worth a read. As previously speculated, the boxing arena is undoubtedly from the Punch-Out!! universe, probably a fictitious "Smash Circuit."

First off, the audience is human, so you can rule out any possibility that this is a Kirby themed stage (all Kirby boxing rings have Kirby characters instead). The marquee's in the background are all dot styled, which is consistent with the marquees in Punch Out Wii, and even the title screen and round indicators for Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

All logos in Punch Out Wii are adorned with clusters of stars, which are usually in 3's because triple star punches are the most powerful punch in the game, as well as the "leaf vines" on the sides (forgive me; I don't know the term for this) and a ribbon at the top. The logo in the ring, while being smash themed, shares all of these characteristics.

The ring ropes are also identical in both color and configuration as the Major Circuit ring in Punch Out Wii. Similarly, the corners are all identical colors and positions as the Punch Out Wii corners.

Also, it's worth noting that the final fight in Punch Out Wii, Mr. Sandman, has a very particular entrance for both his Title Defense and Contender fights. He approaches the ring while there's a green laser light show that goes on behind him. Well, check this out...

Only if they go fun parody tongue-in cheek style for the entire game and none of the lol srs bsns bullshit from Subspace Emissary.

To this day, I still want to know what the original Brawl story (Snake, Mario (?) and Link are on a bus ride somewhere...) would have escalated into. Taking something so mundane and going all Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan with humor would have been the best thing of the forever.

The best level in Melee's Adventure Mode was the one where you had to race to the finish while avoiding the onslaught of F-Zero cars.

Oh God, the 200% speed up version of this segment as one of the events is one of the most hilarious things in the world to see people play drunk.

It's not a punch out ring. It's just a generic smash bros ring, you can tell by the logo in the center of the mat. Sides, if it was the punch-out ring I feel like that would be the place to reveal little mac instead of the villager.
