Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

I honestly can't believe it took them 4 games to finally make a Punch-Out level.

Better late than never? It looks absolutely great. Definitely going to be my most played stage.

Also, just from thinking.. I wonder what the boxart is going look like. Didn't have any sort of thought for it toll now.

It's not a punch out ring. It's just a generic smash bros ring, you can tell by the logo in the center of the mat. Sides, if it was the punch-out ring I feel like that would be the place to reveal little mac instead of the villager.

It's a punch-out ring. That ring is just the "Smash Circuit". In Punch-out, you went through different "Circuits" in which the logo changed, but not the ring.

The Punch-Out!! games have different circuits with different rings: Minor, Major, World, et cetera. It's not unreasonable that Smash Bros. would have a new "Smash Circuit" as a tongue-in-cheek way of introducing Little Mac into the Smash Bros. universe.

That doesn't even make sense. Did any Madagascar movie have reptile villains? :P

No, which is why I'm allowed to say crazy things like that.

He fits in pretty well to me!

Besides, nothing in Ice Age wears hats.

Well if we got King Hippo and Eggplant Wizard instead of Little Mac and Hades then we can have all out battle between Pit, Mega Man, King Hippo and Eggplant Wizard. That would be so epic! :P

Reminds me a bit of Peach's very first appearance.

And lol, it's true that Donkey Kong Country aesthetics are rather similar to stuff like Madagascar and Ice Age.

Madagascar ripped off Donkey Kong Country. Nintendo should sue DreamWorks.

Yeah, it's a Punch-Out ring. Anyone who said otherwise either hasn't played it or just didn't care about the game.

Same blue canvas and rope layout. Little Mac attack is in this sucker.

Which celebrity voices K. Rool? Robin Williams?

Whoever did it in the cartoon.

OT: Rogers On Demand had the show up a while back and I watched the first episode and wow, I don't know how I watched it when I was younger. They took it down soon after sadly, but all dat nostalgia.

Sort of reminds me of the Game & Watch branding, which uses a generic "Super Smash Bros." branding instead of any specific game.

Oh I know, I've played all 3 punch-outs and know the circuit stuff. I'd love to Little Mac as a playable character so there could be a chance the rest of the characters can get cameos but I'm still not entirely sold on the stage being specifically punch out.

So when is the next batch of news?(Greedy I know but I´m hyped!)
In 2 months from now?
Damn you Sakurai and your smash madness!

It's almost non-nonsensical to have a boxing arena in a Smash Bros. game and not have it represent Punch-Out!!! Even if Little Mac is not in the game. That's like having a generic jungle stage an not have it represent DK (Or other franchises that have jungles).

Smashville? That's why we were so sure that we are getting representative in Brawl.

Probably on the next Nintendo Direct.

More likely. I would predict that we are getting one on Aug.

Let's not forget that other Nintendo games have had notable boxing arenas, as well. It's a recurring boss level in Kirby, actually.

And, y'know, even if it is the Punch-Out arena, let's not forget that stage from a game series =/= character from a game series. I don't see that Electroplankton level having gone anywhere. =p

Wait, what? I don't understand what you're responding to.

To clarify, I meant whether or not Little Mac is in the game, having a boxing ring stage and not having it represent the Punch-Out!! franchise doesn't make sense at all. Boxing Ring stage + Nintendo crossover = Punch-Out!!

Yes, you have a point there. But at the same time, when you think of Nintendo and boxing, you think of Punch-Out. Anyway, the main point I was trying to make is that I don't believe it's just a generic boxing arena.

Yeah I know that. I said that in my post.

"Even if Little Mac is not in the game..."

Depends. Would the E3 Direct be a part of the schedule?

Well if you look at the history of Nintendo Directs, we got a 3DS one in April, Wii U one in May, and the E3 Direct in June.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Direct_shows#2013

Their schedule seems a bit messy at the moment, but I'm guessing you're most likely right.

Wait, what? I don't understand what you're responding to.

Smashville is an Animal Crossing stage yet it didn't have a character in the game outside of an assist trophy.

I can see the sentiment of not liking the Kremlings, but the Tikis were awful in Returns, worse than the evil Kongs in Jungle Beat. The new villains in Tropical Freeze are a step in the right direction though.

Kung-fu Kong is the best.

And Jungle Beat is way better than any other DK game

Pretty much this. Oh, and that it's pretty much the Punch-Out ring. Even the logo with the stars mimics the circuits from Punch-Out's logos. I don't even know why there are people arguing against this.

I can say with full certainty that THAT boxing ring, is from Punch-Out. Regardless of Little Mac being a playable character, or not.

Yes, I know this. I'm not saying Little Mac is in the game, I'm just saying that boxing arena stage isn't generic. If you go back and read my posts more carefully you'll see this.

It's a punch out stage. Far too many similarities to suggest otherwise. Does that mean we are 100% getting Little Mac? No. The 3 stars all but proves it to be a punch out stage though.

those are all super minor characters in the Metroid series

let's just hope Dark Samus won't be in SSB4, in part because her moveset would completely overshadow the original Samus. Actually, now I want Dark Samus
but also Ridley

Nintendo has said they want to expand/grow the series. Including them in SSB would help that besides F-Zero and Earthbound were fairly obscure series in the first SSB, granted these are obscure characters as opposed to an entire series but still there had to be a portion of the SSB fanbase that only learned of series like F-Zero, Earthbound and even Fire Emblem thanks to SSB.

Rather than some of the back and forth on the previous pages with having to retool Ridley to make him somewhat workable even after his addition as a boss these hunters already have basic movesets which are all unique to them. Besides there is a chance Ridley would end up as a Charizard clone if he was added.

I don't really want Dark Samus either, granted he/she/it is a prominent character (At least in the Prime Trilogy) but she's already a jacked up Samus in the games, in SSB there is a very good chance she would end up the same.

Hm... I only noticed this bit now:

Sakurai left himself an out on that explanation, however, saying that if there are items on the Wii U version that can't technically be accomplished on Nintendo 3DS, he'll leave them out of that version.

Hopefully this means that, if, say, Olimar's Pikmin mechanics are downgraded in the 3DS version, the Wii U's won't change - although they might just be referencing actual "items" too...

I'd don't think I'm ready for hearing ridley talk in a way that doesn't sound like slowbeef or diabetus.

This is the only voice that fits in my head anymore.
Oh good, I'm not the only one.

IT'S A LIVIN'! AAAAAAAAAAA

I found it impressive

but here

I thought the model was good looking.

Don't ban me ;o;
Please, don't be ridiculous.

Rainbow Dash would be the only logical choice.

Looking at the Wikipedia entry, there seems to be about two Nintendo Directs per month (either regular, Wii U, 3DS, or game-specific). I'm going to be optimistic and say that there will be a Smash Bros. Direct at the end of June where Sakurai will reveal Little Mac, Mii, and Pac-Man. What I believe happened is that the mysterious leaker saw those six newcomers without realizing three of them would be saved for a post-E3 Direct. It's very likely that if new characters are to be announced within the month, media would have already been available a week ago alongside that of Villager, Mega Man, and Wii Fit Trainer, which is what the leaker probably saw being prepared.

Whatever the case, I strongly believe we'll be seeing those three characters sometime soon. If the leaker wanted to lose credibility by lying about three characters (for some strange reason), he would have gone with more exciting picks.

I wouldn't be surprised if between now and release we get 1 character every other month or so announced on an nintendo direct.

Also I would like to point it out that it might be good reason why we haven't seen Villager and Wii Fit Trainer in 3DS graphic yet because they haven't convert them.

Here's a question. If the 3DS version only is going to have customization, shouldn't the Wii U version also have some sort of distinguishing content? It would be kind of lame if it was an inferior version with better graphics.
