Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

I'm glad that topic was locked, albeit for the completely wrong reasons (IE: not because of the creepy fanart, but because the source of the OP was TSSZ, AKA the Daily Mail of the Sonic community)

Did they confirm if both versions will have the same number of stages? I have a feeling the Wii Fit stage may be console exclusive and maybe the Smash Dojo one assuming it is a Punch-Out stage.

I think Sakurai said that the 3DS version would be getting handheld game stages, while the Wii U version would be getting console game stages, so that's probably true.

That dark 3DS stage with the wheel, we think it's from DKCR, right? If so, I think it's from the Mangoruby boss fight.

Also, I know the game recently got a 3DS port, but it's odd that it's getting a stage in Smash 3DS since it made its debut on a console.

Probably. Valak Mountain was the only place in the entire game that I found really boring.
It did have that cool slide. With a warp point at the top. Monolithsoft knows their audience.

"Wheeee!" *warp* "Wheeee!"

But from Xenoblade, I'd really want a Fallen Arm stage, just for the view you could have from it.

I'm actually really glad that the 3DS version will have its own stages. My biggest concern about Smash Bros. for that version specifically was screen size. Even when the camera zooms out on some of the levels in Brawl, it can be hard to see your characters and all the items. And that's on a big TV.

It looked like there was only one character (Mario) while that stage was being shown, so maybe it's a single player stage? Or maybe they just didn't show the Wii U version of it.

Speaking of 3DS ports, I find it weird Gerudo Valley was shown on the 3DS version, but not Wii U. Granted, it represents OoT 3D & maybe it'll be on the Wii U version, but if it's not, that'd be rather strange.

Yeah, it sounds like the 3DS exclusive stages, especially what we've seen, are designed in mind for that version/reason. I assume the stages that'll be exclusive to the Wii U, aside from console-based games, are the bigger stages similar to New Pork City or Temple.

Only if they have it during the evening/night.

Daytime looks so dull.
They could cycle through it.

Mechonis Arm is the stage I want. For reasons that people who played Xenoblade know.

This would be amazing as well.

Even more awesome would be if they cycled through locations like this. Satorl Marsh, Mechonis Arm, Valak Moutain, Gaur Plains, Eryth Sea, Makna Forest, etc. Man that would be awesome.

This is probably the game announced at E3 with the longest thread.

The hype generated by a new Smash is unmatched.

HELL YEAH!

Considered that there are like 8 smash threads (From E3 news)

1) first trailer
2) Mega Man
3) Wii Fit Trainer 1st
4) Wii Fit Trainer 2nd
5) NO TRIPPING
6) Classic or Modern Sonic
7) Will Snake in?
8) This thread Dojo

Smash Bros is in a hype class of its own.

Sure, the PS4 using the same DRM as the PS3 is neat, and Final Fantasy versus XIII is now XV, plus Kingdom Hearts 3 is now a thing is also pretty cool.

But did you hear MEGA MAN IS IN SMASH BROS?!

There are very few games that can do that. And it's really part of the fun of Smash.

Probably due to all the speculation that happens. Stages, characters, items, music, & more. So many possibilities as to what can be included in the game.

Sonic the Hedgehog AND My Little Pony in one thread? Yeah that'll bring out the trolls.
Yup. Even mentioning FiM brings out the crazies on NeoGAF, I've found - and it tends to be the trolls who do so, not the ones who actually like the show.

I wonder how long until we get a general sticky thread on cutting it out with the creepy fanart? Well, except for the thread dedicated to it.
Hopefully, sooner than later. Shit's getting out of hand - the "Animal Crossing comes out in 1 month" thread was evidence enough of that.

That sonic topic was so tame when I saw it earlier...that last pic...

a photograph of planes hitting the Twin Towers on 9/11. I wish I were making that up. Not linking it, though; we've had more than enough creepy going around
.

Personally, as far as interest goes, I'm interested in Sonic: Lost World (despite the apparent control issues), Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8 (eh, kinda), Knack (despite GAF being down on it), Kingdom Hearts 3 (not like that'll be out very soon, anyway), FFXV (vaguely, and mostly because Dark Schala is actually hyped for it after being so down on XIII and its sequels), Batman: Arkham Origins (because the last two Arkham games are some of my favorite games of the current generation), and of course Super Smash Bros. 4. Most other games at E3 weren't even a blip on my interest radar.

Smash Bros, X, Pokemon XY, Final Fantasy XV, and Kingdom Hearts 3 are my most hyped E3 games.

She's from the awful, awful Dragon Ball GT show.

To be fair to that thing, ss4 is cool, and the end saga is literally the best dragon ball idea conceived ever. But yeah the rest of its terrible

As far as hype goes.

X and Y will probably be my GOTY. Sorry, Revengeance, Fire Emblem and BioShock.
Amazing GIF! Also, what a coincidence, BioShock Infinite is my current GOTY, with Fire Emblem and Revengeance as the runners-up.

I'm sure to love Pokémon X and Y, but the real challenger to my personal GOTY looks to be either Super Mario 3D World (sequel to my favorite 3D platformer), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (sequel to my favorite 2D platformer), Rayman Legends, or The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Oh, and then there's also The Wonderful 101. Can't forget about that!

I ordered The Last of Us but haven't played it yet. I'm sure it'll be amazing in various ways but I doubt the actual gameplay will fill my soul with light like those other games.

Of course, Smash Bros. is the game I'm now most hyped about. Also stoked for Mario Kart 8. Nice thing about Pokémon X and Y coming out this year is the mystery of the new Pokémon will distract from the frustrating suspense over the mystery of Smash's roster, lol.

EDIT: Oh, and Sonic Lost Worlds, Bayonetta 2, etc, all look amazing. Little down on what I saw of Shinji Mikami's The Evil Within, but I'll keep the faith!

From the "next-gen" consoles, FFXV and MGSV are definitely the most interesting picks. Main concerns there are the camera in FFXV and Kojima's tendency to have no self-control editing his cutscenes in MGSV (which stands to be exceptionally painful here, where we have scenes such as operating on a child without the use of anesthesia -- that was excruciating to watch even in a trailer where there's music and you don't hear the kid screaming).

Those gripes aside, the two games look wonderful. Redeemed an otherwise sort of bland showing for the next generation. I'm definitely looking forward to getting a PS4 at some point.

But thank ye gaming gods for Nintendo. This year they delivered, in spades, what I had hoped they'd deliver last year. Just gobs and gobs of COLOR, WARMTH, WHIMSY. Crisp, clear image quality with shaders and texture and slick lighting up the ying-yang. Fantastical art direction and instantly likeable characters and wondrously creative worlds. Mario Kart 8 blew my mind. 3D World looks like something I would've dreamt of as a kid, the whole team ganging up to fight Chargin' Chucks and ride Loch Ness Monsters. Tropical Freeze introduces Viking penguins -- the next best thing after pirate crocs! And of course, SUPER SMASH BROS., now with sociopathic townsfolk, smoking hot yoga pants and MEGA MAN.

What a show. Best E3 since 2010. In fact, E3 TIER TIME:

1) E3 2013 *
2) E3 2010
3) E3 2006
4) E3 2004
5) E3 2002 **

* Screw the honeymoon phase, E3 2013 was god-tier, imo

** Was E3 2002 the one that had Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime and Wind Waker?
