Honestly? Brawl took the last big batch of "duh" choices. Right now, we're looking at strong additions from established franchises in Smash (Palutena, Dixie Kong and the like), cult or non-traditional stuff (Wii Fit Trainer and Villager work here), "smaller" franchise reps (getting a playable rep for stuff like Golden Sun, Sin & Punishment, EBA-Ouendan, Advance Wars etc.), and of course the retro stuff (Sukapon, StarTropics, Mystery at Murasame Castle).
Edit: Little Mac is legitimately the last "big" guy left.

Are there really any BIG first party characters left to include? I mean, we're digging through Famicom Detective Club to find new characters. Villager was a big addition, but I can't think of many big, or even cult, Nintendo franchises that are lacking representation unless we go the Japan-only route. Maybe Mike Jones from Startropics.
Also if they do put in Takamaru, they should use his Captain Rainbow design.
Ray 01 from Custom Robo, Isaac/Matthew from Golden Sun, Saki from Sin&Punishment, there are others as well.

I think that if this were 6 years ago, I would have been pissed. G&W pissed me off. Rob pissed me off. "Joke" characters were wasted spaces to me. My attitude toward that stuff has changed, now, and I respect Sakurai's decision to include these unexpected characters. I am not fans of them, and I do not use them, but I respect it. I think my wife falling in love with G&W prompted the shift.

That would be awesome if both got in. When they had Nintendo Direct in few months, and they would announced Mike Jones and Takamaru for SSB4, so they can running marking on that where they would release Star Tropic VC for Japan and Mysterious Murasama Castle for US/Europe. It would be good chance to test the water.

I was salty when I heard that she got in the game due to twitter. I was like why would they waste the slot for her until I saw the moveset. I was grinned. I thought Sakurai did good job to find a character that we didn't even predicted or expected to see and make it work very well that we would embrace her as playable character.
So which Style Savvy character will receive a full-blown fashionista moveset?
Maybe in 20 years when everyone's forgotten about the game.

There's actually gonna be a Style Savvy mode in which you are able to dress the characters in cute frilly dresses you unlock in Story mode. Game of the Forever.

When he grabbed Smash ball, and once you activated the smash ball. He would jump into background and scared the ducks to flying around the stage and we are able to control the aim. Ducks may crash into the characters to stunned them for brief so it would be hard to run away from the aim if you have a lot of duck flying around in the stage.

Cool! I've never seen his Captain Rainbow design until now. I like it a lot! Better than the original imo

Jesus christ man, Olimar is 2 fucking centimeters. That's his actual goddamn size. You think they can't make Ray 01 bigger or Ridley smaller? What the fuck is wrong with you people. Ray 01 is the closest thing to a Gundam this game could get and I actually prefer him over a Gundam.

The real problem with Ridley isn't that he's too big, but rather that he's too long. His hitboxes would be enormous.

So, after re-watching the Smash developer direct, I started to think - for those of you who play competitively, how big do you think Mega Man's extensive use of projectiles will work out? I see him being a very distant fighter, with weak-ish smash attacks. I also see him being quite light.

Infinitely. I've been wishing for a new F-Zero and Custom Robo game for the Wii U since the tablet was announced. Imagine how hype a game like Custom Robo on Wii U would be? You have the robo's parts on that touchscreen, shows damage to the limbs, could go into first person mode or something. It's fucking awesome.

Yeah he's lanky, but I still believe they can find a way to shrink him where he doesn't get totally disfigured. It's not impossible, they just need to put in the effort man.

He was like one of best designed fighters in Smash. He's kind of like Mega Man in the sense that most, if not all of his abilities were faithful to the original games. I do agree that ROB is a joke character along with Pichu and Ganondorf

Just make it like basically every Metroid game ever and have it that you can't hurt him by hitting his tail.
Though having his tail treated like a sword would probably make him pretty over powered unless ungodly slow/weak.

I have such overwhelming love for Mr. G&W. He has like one frame of animation per move, and yet he exudes more personality than 99 percent of videogame characters these days. A work of comic genius!

Makes more sense for his tail to be used like a spear or whip of some kind, imo.
So I was just thinking of all kinds of things related to this game, and after watching the developer direct, I also realized that Sakurai is being terribly rushed right now.
Then I realize how many delays Kid Icarus: Uprising had, and how amazing it turned out.
So... I hope Smash is delayed for at least another year, to 2015. Give the man the time he needs to do what he needs to do!
