Why do alot of people hate kanye?

It's all part of the forced outrage celebrity culture. I don't really know much about Kanye as a person, yet I'm fed stories that are supposed to make me hate him. It's all so arbitrary and ultimately pointless. For me, Kanye made two great albums. He never killed any puppies, he's just a bit of a dick. And I'm not roommates with the guy, he's just another artist. Why should I really give a shit about his personality? Why should I hate him? Honestly?

People need to get over themselves and direct their energy towards something besides hating on random celebrities.

Every celebrity needs a gimmick. You can be the drunk, the asshole, the sex god, the goody two shoes, the philanthropist, the tough guy, etc. Kanye chose the asshole.

And remember, when you have things or a life that people want but can't obtain themselves, they just look for ANY reason to dislike you. That's why you see movie stars and other celebs acting so humble and modest when they go on talk shows or do interviews. They can't all be that damn nice and gracious. If they show any hint of arrogance, the resentment from the haters that was bubbling just under the surface explodes out and potentially hurts their career. So they play the game. But Kanye seems to not give a fuck about the game. Yet unlike others that refused to play the game and paid the price (Paris Hilton, Allen Iverson, etc) Kanye has too much talent to simply be pushed aside. He just may be the greatest music producer of our generation. And that's what pisses the haters off the most.

I'm not
This thread is for discussion not me justifying my feelings
You totally are though. Every time someone gives you a reason for not liking him you feel the need to try and invalidate it.

You don't have to? It's just really questionable when people hate a celebrity based on media tabloids
People have given you many reasons outside of tabloid headlines as to why they don't like him but you refuse to accept any of them.

This is getting sad now..

I only invalidate it when it holds no weight
Find me a good justification for actually hating him
You can be indifferent towards him no problem
I don't care for the Beatles but you won't see me slandering them and bashing them

I think if you got the accolades and sales he did you'd be pretty egotistical yourself.
I mean, look at the dude's life.
He chills regularly the highest selling solo recording artist of all time.
He impregnated a celebrity that almost any dude will kill to even get 2 pumps.
His albums sell like hotcakes.
He regularly recieves awards.

In short, he's a pop icon.
I don't think anyone should get a fat head in life no matter what they've accomplished. You can have confidence in yourself and be proud of what you've done, but that doesn't mean you can be so arrogant and self absorbed that you like to jerk off to your own reflection whenever you see yourself in the mirror. That's Kanye. He's so in love with himself it's revolting.

Also, I would never allow myself to become egotistical in any way, shape or form, no matter what I do because I find egoists to be the kind of people I hate the most in this world.

Pretty much a whole album of Kanye West singing like a robot with Auto-Tune, gets all emo-y on terrible tracks like "Heartless." Click here to watch the video for it. (Well, the video itself was pretty hot.)

Lol this is on that list for reasons to hate someone

What's wrong with Yeezus?

Right, that's why you called people who disagree with you ignorant in the OP.

I'm not getting bent out of shape. Making an observation.

Sure, attacking someone personally because they express negative views of a pop musician is certainly detached rational observation and not at all fanboyish idiocy.

If you guys just want unanimous ballwashing of the genius Kanye West, that's what the Yeezus thread is for.

"I don't need your pussy, bitch I'm on my own dick" - Kanye West

The Taylor swift incident eh?
There was also another video with multiple examples, including one of him on stage going against any apology he made for that incident and one of him interrupting another artist and claiming that if he doesn't win the award ceremony loses credibility. He even did it without seeing the content the artist won the award for. Seems like a classy guy.

He speaks his mind, which many celebrities are afraid to do.

I just think people need someone to hate, and Kanye is totally fine with being that person.

College Dropout is his best album though

KANYE CYCLE. GO.

He isn't smart though, if he was in anyway smart he would not have interrupted Taylor Swift's speech. Let alone we could go a year without him making some stupid comment.

He is smart. You're still talking about the Taylor Swift moment years later right? You remember all the shit he says right? He understands that people talking, whether good or bad, is still keeping him in the public eye.

He can't hold his liquor

Just let it go man. Dude Abides doesn't actually like anything.

I like plenty of things, just not poseurs who think they're God's gift to music and waste their talent trying to be deep and edgy, like the fuckin' Eagles. Kanye groupies are such fragile little flowers.

He can't hold his liquor
So he was drunk in every single one of those examples. Right. Like others have said, you made this thread as a circle jerk for Kanye fans, we're done here.

The bush thing is the only one I can think of where he wasn't drunk
And we can mostly all agree he was correct

Seriously. Not even Corbin Fisher can compete.

But, again, it really doesn't matter either way. Kanye will still make money. People will still enjoy his music. some people will talk about him in a negative light, others in a positive, and none of us still don't know a damn thing about him.

A good recent example of him acting a fool is when he hit his head on that sign in front of the poparrizzi. He could have just laughed it off and gone on about his business. But no. He feels embarrassed and lashes out like a fucking 3 year old.

That said, I like him just fine, but it's easy to see why some might not be fans. He doesn't make it easy on himself.

Surround anyone with a bunch of lowlife bottom feeders constantly taking pictures of them after hitting their head and they'd do the same thing.

I love Kanye West's music. But:
He apologized, he was drunk, she accepted it, get over it
Being drunk doesn't make it excusable. In the end, it gives good insight into the type of personality he has. A shitty one.

There are quite a lot of celebrities who hold their shit together just fine with these lowlife bottom feeders.

He just may be the greatest music producer of our generation. And that's what pisses the haters off the most.

He doesn't have producer credit on half his 40 fuckin minute album. Co-credits on most of his other releases looking back on wikipedia.

His early solo stuff I saw on MTV was enjoyable and that stuff is almost all credited to him. Well done.

But that pales in comparison to what Teddy Riley did over 10 years. He was a major force on 10 albums during that time frame innovating and refining a sound. Not even counting the quality years after that period or the song or 2 drop ins he did for someone or a group.

Or Babyface who had a midas touch to make huge hit after hit after hit.

I would be upset if I hit my head and people were just there taking photos

How did you this info? Is this the info mike dean said was false? Sounds like it to me

I dunno. All I know about him outside of the tabloid stories is that he sampled a Can song, which is cool, but the lyric he wrote over the top of it was generic club crap, so I was pretty unimpressed. But the bridge was nice.

I don't feel like he contributed much to Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.

Seems like an odd guy, maybe a little too locked into his echo chamber.

Most of the people who dislike Kanye to the point of loathing him, often seem like bigger assholes than he is. This thread is a good reference point of that. So much venom spit over a man you've never met. Celebrities and artists alike are often douchebags but Kanye west is one of the most hated for whatever reason. Many of you act like he slapped your mother.

This is precisely what I've been getting at
Click on any web article referencing kanye and you'll get some of the worst responses imaginable
Even here some people seem very spiteful

I think there's a severe lack of humility that he projects that rubs people the wrong way. He's an extremely talented guy, but he is also very aware of it. He comes off as very smug and overly proud of his own brilliance.

The being said, I don't hate the guy, there are plenty of people in the music business that have done some seriously reprehensible stuff, but Kanye isn't one of them. I get the impression he doesn't think before he speaks sometimes, but if we faulted every successful recording artist who loved themselves too much for saying something dumb, we'd never stop talking about it.

The guy creates stuff that critics and audiences seem to love, so power too him.

Not everyone is a god (literally) stackin' millions. They jealous.

jordan is fortunate that when he was in his prime we didn't have youtube/the internet like we do now.
I think his appearance in things like the Hanes commercials and space jam helped people overlook or ignore his horrendous attitude
Lmao Jordan is an asshole. Man that guy is mean haha
I can understand if people think kanye is an asshole but Jordan is much much worse
My dads friend used to be maintenance at UC when Jordan was playing and he'd treat them like personal servants who are unworthy of making eye contact
