The Witcher 2 getting full combat rebalance mod with new animations and big changes

I saw the link and it was a post from May 15 and it said it would be done in two weeks. There's a download link or it got delayed?

I was going to play through the game before Witcher 3 comes out. Do you think it's worth waiting for this?

I say definitely wait for the mod. it seems like it's overhauling the entire game into a different experience and for the better. It's basically fixing everything wrong with the game right now however small.

I never really enjoyed the combat in this game. For this reason i only beat the game once. Roche's path.
Waiting for this moid to go Iorveth.

Hard to say until we try it, but I think so. I have a lot of gripes with the combat and balance in TW2 and this seems to fix a lot of my problems.

Looks like I'll wait a little while then. Thanks.

I actually enjoyed the combat in TW2 so an improvement in that aspect is very enticing. I might hold off on playing it until I do my TW1 and TW2 playthroughs leading up to the release of the third game.

When I built my PC last November, The Witcher 2 was the first game that I bought for it due to all the praise. I enjoyed what little of the game I played, but the combat always felt clunky to me. Can't wait to get this mod, though, sounds excellent, and I commend CD Projekt for actually working to improve a game that is pretty old.

Added strafing while being locked on an enemy and walking.
Holy shit. I might actually start playing again. That was a dealbreaker for me.

I play with a 360 controller on the PC though, and the menus are clunky as hell with it. I wish I could insta-switch between the controller and the mouse for the menus (Deus Ex HR supports it). That was really annoying...

Delayed to the 20th of June.

Building my new PC today... sounds like he was just doing me a solid.

This will probably be one of the first things I stream along with some Borderlands 2 this week. I really hope this brings back some finesse and speed to Geralt's combat.

Finshed the game download yesterday and now I'm waiting for this :)

Yeah same. Trying to finish up The Last of Us and 999 before it hits as well.

Tried twice to play through this but honestly it didn't capture me like the first one did. Hopefully third time is a charm.

anyone else get a weird bug while playing Witcher 2, when I open a door and walk into the room the camera snaps around a bit. Drives me crazy..

CD Red have already won my undying love

Installed it last week. Wanna enjoy the game with a better combat system.

I wouldn't say better, just a different take on the combat system. I can see how the Witcher 2 combat--as it is right now--could frustrate someone because the player has to wait for Geralt's animation to complete whenever he did a specific move. This meant if enemies smacked the player mid-animation, it'd interrupt; and that another button input during an animation wouldn't do anything. I was alright with this because it made combat a bit more methodical with timing but a more input-sensitive combat system would definitely be truer to a Witcher's nature based on the books.

The Witcher was on sale this weekend on steam. Picked up the 1st 2. playing through the 1st one now, looking forward to having the updated version by the time I get to the 2nd..

Oh wow. Did not know about this patch. I'd picked up the game on PC after hearing everyone gush about it. Couldn't stomach the combat after 6 or so hours and just kinda dropped it, interesting choice filled fantasy setting and all. Kept telling myself I would play it through later. But with my backlog piling higher and higher, when was that going to be?

Will definitely retry now because they patched the game so extensively. Here's hoping for the best.

Oh man. Maybe I'll give the game another try.

I gave up on it last time because an NPC I needed for a sidequest vanished. And even though it was a minor sidequest, GOTTA DO EVERYTHING.

This is good timing. I had to build a new pc and I was about to start playing through my gog copy. I bought it when it came out but I dealt with a lot of stuttering. I am glad I saw this thread!

Great news, I was just thinking about giving Witcher 2 another shot. The changes from 1 really hurt it for me, I've never played past that first shitty town in large part because I found the combat frustrating as opposed to the first game. Maybe these changes will help me with that, hope so because even now it's a fantastic looking game.

Looks like i'm beating this game this summer. I wonder if this will make the combat as easy to get into as the adjustments they made for the 360 version.
