Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Thank you kind junior! I know what I'm getting tomorrow when the store updates. ^_^
You're welcome :p
Gods Eater Burst is a great game, so enjoy! It's actually one of my favourites, even if I had to use other people's templates to learn to use the bullet system, and I rebought it when I first got my vita just so I'd be able to keep playing. I'm kind of hoping that including it in plus is a good sign for GE2, but even if it's not I'm glad more people will get a chance to play the first :)

To cheat my way out of a top of the page recommendation: If you have US PS Plus, get Gods Eater Burst tomorrow! Also, its free DLC does actually work on vita - you just need to transfer it via PS3.

I don't know why I was expecting a price drop or new bundle to come from E3, but I really want to join VigaGAF soon. I am still looking for the best entry point. I am also still considering getting a PS+ membership even though I don't have a PS3 or vita because of the games added to the library each month. I am obviously a crazy person.

Releasing tomorrow. Presumably the 19th in EU? I don't know. But it seems as though a lot of us are going to be waiting for impressions rather than just picking it up (which I feel is justifiable).

I can pick this up on the PS3, but would rather play on the Vita. Steady 30 with a few drops here and there would warrant a purchase. Running 20 fps would not and I'll get the PS3 version.

You are not crazy. I didnt do it and now i missed MGS HD in eu. If you are sure u gonna get 1 soon its not that crazy.

Also i got US PS+ as well now. Got ACIII:L, Sound Shapes from the sale . I so need an additional memory card next to my glorious 4gb.

Can I even register an account without having a current Playstation system?

shahidkamal wants to know if you prefer card or digital for Vita games. Use hashtag #vitamediapoll

I prefer have everything in the memory, but dd only release should be preferred only if the other option is no release imo.
More games in the retailer shelves = more visibility to vita.

Yes, u can reserve all ur ps+ titles on the web in your pc.

Guys i cant use my physical buttons in OS. Never had that problem with Eu account. System is uptaded as well. Is that weid?

You have to go into settings and enable it. It's off by default, so when you changed accounts and reset the Vita it was turned back off.

insane deal

thanks! i harassed the shit out of their customer service. got them to price match the target deal for ~$50 off, then honor an expired $50 off coupon, then signed up for an amazon visa card for the last $50.

nice little birthday gift to myself.

woof.

from the pocket gamer review of J&D HD:

"
Where the PlayStation 3 version runs at a silky 60fps, the Vita outing has serious frame-rate issues. The second game runs fine and holds steady, the third occasionally dips, but the first is all over the place as the Vita struggles to render everything on-screen.

And the controls feel wrong. Movement can be twitchy, and the commands that are assigned to the rear touch pad feel gimmicky and imprecise. When the platforming, shooting, and driving asks you to be very precise, the controls often let you down.

It's a real bummer, because without these problems The Jak and Daxter Trilogy would go from being a good package to a great one. The script is witty, the gameplay is constantly changing, and when everything's working as it should be these are among the best platformers ever produced."

Hi all, long time Vita lurker here. I bought my first Vita couple of months ago and it must be my favourite console since Dreamcast. I already bought 22 retail games and dozens on psn titles. I also have baby daughter so my gaming time is very limited, so Vita is perfect device for me playing in small bursts.

Anyways, some views.

I found Jak & Daxter from store last weekend and I’ve played couple of hours of the first game, I’m not quite sure it’s native resolution but I think it looks nice enough. Frame rate seemed kind of crappy at first but it doesn’t bother me anymore, I probably just adjusted to it, or it got better. Game really pulled me in, I haven’t played good 3d adventure game in ages. I haven’t played any J&D game before except that psp game that was just on sale.

Also found Legends of war for 15€, it looks really horrible, didn’t bother to play it more than few minutes. Gameplay might be interesting if I have some time.

That's too bad. I guess I'll skip the games then :(

Welcome to Vitagaf,
your story reads like the typical Vita experience.

Thanks for the J&D impressions. Just hope the Legends of War curse won't hit you ;)

We have another Sahid!

And HipHopGamer "knew it" :D

Translation: We'll be showing the system's games for 10 minutes instead of 5 at E3! Improvement!

And the system will continue to nosedive in sales because Sony isn't doing SHIT for it besides indies which obviously isn't working in getting people to buy the system for that.

32gb cards are so extortionately expensive. I figured that's how Sony made their money on the device. Sigh. That Target deal for $200 seems pretty sweet. I'll hopefully see if I can travel to Target in Honolulu to grab it when I land at the end of the week. Looking forward to getting my hands on a Vita.

Yes they are. When I got my Vita last week, I got a 32 gigs card for my EU account and considering the price I went with 16 gigs for my JP account, thinking it was enough. But here I am with Phantasy Star Online 2 taking 6 gigs, FF8 taking almost two, Type 0 being like 2,5 gigs and some demos. It's going to be full soon and I haven't started putting PS+ games on it... Time Travellers is 1 gig while Trails in the Sky is 1,6 - god help me.

By the way, one thing that REALLY stinks about account switching is that there are A LOT of things that get reset each time. Near, PSP/PS1 emulator config and so on. It's more of a hindrance than anything else but it sucks :/

Come on Vita-Muffins!! WAKE UP!! Muramasa is only two weeks away, TWO WEEKS!

Two....WEEKS!

Dos WEEKS!!

My only regret is that Amazon doesn't have release date delivery on the collectors edition. I will have to wait a couple days *Sad Panda*

The system music! The maddening system music!

Well, I expect Sony to show off more new games. Hopefully it's a mix of PS4 and Vita games, and also knowing Shahid is from SCEE it seems like SCEE is making a big push to court devs. Worst case/most depressing scenario will be more ports of indies/PSN games. If we get at least a couple new, original games (even from existing IPs) for Vita, I'll be happy with that at least.

What I can't understand is why people buy the 32gb. Just on principle I refuse to.

hip hop gamer is the worst. i dont understand his audience

He's hilarious, though...

Is hot shots worth it for like 13 bucks if it doesn't have the online pass?

And how is the port of sonic transformed? Didn't it have framerate issues or did they solve them?

Ugh I just don't know what to do with Jax, I really want to try these games but not if the frame rate is terrible.

Is it just stuttery or is it unplayable (like the ratchet and clank game)

Hey guys,

I've been neglecting my Vita a little bit over the last few days (damn you Animal Crossing!!!) and I'm suddenly finding that my Vita's battery drains really quickly during sleep mode even if I don't use it. I have been recharging the thing every second day and right now I barely use it but for some internet surfing here and there - still it drains to the point where I actually have to plug it in and charge for a few minutes to even turn it on.

I didn't really get such a bad impression about the battery capacity and the sleep mode before since I normally use the thing for at least an hour every day. My Vita is about a year old by now, so I wouldn't expect to see any significant decrease in battery capacity already. Does anyone here have similar problems? Did anybody else notice some battery issue perhaps with the recent firmware update?

Thanks,
the_korben

Plays great. The demo stuttered a bit but the full game is mostly smooth at 30 FPS like the console versions.

(I also have it on the PC where it's a consistent 60 FPS but I've put more time into the Vita version so far.)

This is legitimately weird, but I've seen a couple of other people say this same thing. I can tell you that I don't have this issue. I have two Vitas, and my second Vita hasn't been plugged in for five days (I just don't really use the thing). I just checked the battery and it's full. That's leaving it in standby rather than powering off. So I don't think it's just you, but it's definitely not universal either.
