Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

I want her Rollout and Sing to be usable, and give her fairy neutral attacks too, oh and also, this is of extreme importance, Rest needs to be as devastating as it was in Melee or even 64

Rest was one of my favourite moves in Melee. Such a good feeling when you pull it out correctly. That sound... That instant KO... <3

Well, it's not the first time Mewtwo has been a super sand legend.

So... he just get angrier?

I hate when the topic of conversation veers toward Pokemon because I can't provide any input.

I've already submitted to the fact that smash folks can't into Pokemon. They think Lucario is irrelevant and all that shit lol

People want Newtwo, I want Genesect. Much more "potential" and a fresh entry.

Pokemon is pretty much the only franchise where I throw my hands up and leave the discussion when trying to guess what'll happen rep-wise for Smash games. All I know is Pikachu and Jiggs are grandfathered at this point.

Ok Pokemon related smash junk. Pikachu, keep volt tackle or go for electro ball like the anime?

The cherish ball should be a new item that always give a legendary Pokemon.

Just installed Project M for the first time. Love how Squirtle and the others are their own separate character selections, and their new Down + Bs are pretty cool too.

Hope they ditch the trainer and let these characters stand on their own.

Holy crap, positive Jigglypuff talk for a change?

As much as I adore Queen Jiggly, I'm not sure being a newly stated Fairy type or part of the original 12 is enough to stay in judging from Sakurai's latest word on roster. Heck, I could see Ness being cut too.

But since we're here, I would love Jiggly to have a new Up-B Fairy attack. Maybe have the sleep effect occur during Smash attacks.

Oh, speaking of which, I hope you can toggle what Pokemon and assists come out of Pokeballs and Assist Trophies. Let me make a match with constant Goldeen and Mr. Resetti.

I knowwww, I only ever see stuff like, "Will she finally be cut now?" Jiggly is fantastic, love using her.

Hopefully she'll stay in simply because she's been in all three so far, or as a Fairy rep.

I can't wait to see the XY rep. None of the pokemon seen so far have screamed "Mascot!!!" :O

I really can't see anyone from the original roster being cut, even Pigglyjuff

They're the series staple, others can be interchanged but they have too much history and too many people would be getting pissed off I think. Arguably much less with Jigglypuff but I still wouldn't want her gone... it'd be like a pet dying

Change Thunder Jolt into a chargeable Electro Ball.

I'd like Iron Tail, the BW-version where it's a huge metallic tail.

Let it deflect projectiles and replace Skull Bash.

"Perhaps the best way to think of it is: it's not the strength of the attacks that change--their power--but the directionality of those attacks will change with customization."

wtf could that possibly even mean?

Honestly, a trip-less, metaknight brought back to humanity brawl is my dream. I prefer brawl to melee too.

As do I! If Brawl was like that, i'd have definitely preferred it to melee.
"People have defined in their own minds what constitutes a fighting game, and that can be such a specific set of characteristics that when other people are viewing a game from the outside and they learn it's a fighting game, they may predetermine it's not for them simply because of what they expect from it as a fighting game."
Let me just say this, I freaking love Sakurai. I haven't give him enough credit, the man's a genius.

Yeah duh. But it's not like people disliked Melee because it contained those things in it. That's why the changes to brawl were so dumb. Piss off the competitive because... well just because.

Yeah. He's right.

The Melee community is loud, and has a huge online presence, but doesn't compare to fans who casually like it.

It's actually a bit of an echo chamber in many smash communities.

According to... what, exactly?

(Sales numbers of an installment on a weak-selling console versus an installment on a high-selling console won't be accepted.)

In Brawl you could make your own little profile, which kept some records and displayed your name and your preferred control scheme for every controller configuration, and I think there were even ways to transfer this to a friend's game, so I sense it will be something like this but go even further. Not just customizing the button layout, but the way whole characters control and how you perform their moves.

Like using Ganondorf's up-tilt A attack a lot? Well it can be his neutral B special now. Make Bowser's forward-B slashing grab special his regular grab, and make his forward smash his forward special, etc..

Look no further than Project M as an example of this echo chamber, really.

Maybe it's kind of like the difference between normal Mario and Dr. Mario? Maybe they are going with this instead of clones

Melee popularity is heavily anecdotal. "My friends like it, therefore it's popular." Casuals like Brawl more in general because there's more content, more characters, and as you said, on a console that sold tons that specifically caters to the casual demographic.

There's a definite bias as many of those fans may not have played melee to compare. But they don't care. Numbers do matter, and whether you accept it or not is irrelevant.

The great thing about the silent majority is that it can easily be used to support any appeal to popularity. And they dont talk!

You just used anecdotal evidence to a support your argument against other anecdotal evidence.

Needs I remind you Smash Melee was the best selling Gamecube game and the definition of a casual favorite. I cant think of a game with a more absurd attach ratio.

Yeah, the first part has anecdotal evidence.

Based on raw sales numbers and using Sakurai as a primary source though, I can claim my argument has at least a bit of credibility.
