Top decks in Standard (the most popular format, which only allows cards printed in the last two years) can still cost a few hundred depending on the cards solely based on secondary market prices.

WOTC does acknowledge the existence of the secondary market and they do try to reprint highly sought-after cards, but
a) they tend to do this only for stuff after it rotates out of Standard and
b) they don't really do this in large quantities to avoid pissing off said secondary market resellers

They also sometimes host events in Limited formats, where you basically build a deck out of a fixed number of packs that you receive day of the tournament. That way everybody's on equal ground fiscally.

Yeah, limited/draft are a fun way to play that basically removes the pay to win aspect.

Comparing KI3 to T5:DR in terms of exclusives selling consoles seems a bit absurd to me, but I guess weirder things have happened. I hope TOs know better this gen, and unless they're getting a massive subsidy via sponsorships I hope they don't throw down massive amounts of money with so many unknowns still in the mix.

Except WiiU for smash I guess, since the game can't possibly be worse than brawl

Yeah there are way too many unknowns in the air right now to call a system to bank on for TOs. Rough times are ahead for TOs, we're gonna see limited set ups and maybe even personal consoles people use.

The biggest unknown, how well devs optimize, is what is unpredictable and something the competitive community can't wait on, but will have to. Pre-release reports never really hold up until lab monsters put the games under maximum stresses or certain situations DF probably won't do.

Speaking of Mega Man, I've been watching the Marn vs Noel FT20 and goddamn if Marn isn't the coolest Zero player.

Dude is a better player with a two-character team and 50% combo drop rate than most of the people that make top 8s.

Microsoft still has yet to be clear of anything, saying is one thing. The fact that they thought about it and with all the PR talk of we're going through with it despite anything says consumers should be cautious.
It took for them to have crappy preorders numbers, a huge backlash via media including celebrities and people that aren't even associated with gaming and constant ridicule from all sorts of people and places to finally change it.
This is a great peace of mind for consumers but the console itself still has lots of problems that need to be dealt with. The system still needs Kinect to function properly, it is still $100 more for underpowered hardware compared to competition, and since apparently this DRM thing is a software thing despite them saying it's built into the console we can never change it, blah, blah, blah, the idea can rear it's ugly head back in some form, like publishers doing it themselves so MS doesn't get any crap for it.

and you are still buying two of the console :P
I hope you are flipping them. Actually, imagining them Red Ringing and people paying extra for a flipped console makes me laugh xD

Keep one. Sell the other for a price that would make it as if I got the first for free so that if it does crap out I won't be bothered. The talk about GS getting very low allocated numbers and low yields leads me to believe that they are having trouble building the system. Yeah. Sounds like RROD all over again. MS was never really a hardware company to begin with so it makes sense. It took them 7-8 years and several different revisions of the 360 to finally get it right supposedly. The new model seems perfect but since nobody seems to have bought it yet we don't know for sure.

Chaos Legion was fun in it's own way. Not really comparable

Yup, makes sense. As long as you are not losing out on it. I'm starting to wonder if ps4 might get flipped for higher since sony already said they wont have enough to match the pre-orders.

What does MvC3 have anything to do with an obviously broken F2P game model that caters neither to the fans nor the beginners of the franchise?
And I don't even like MvC3...

It's clear that they rushed TR out, and are only now starting to think about how they could make it work.

If you're thinking the comment had anything to do with/was directed at MvC3 fanbase in specific, then you're thinking wrong. It was an example.

And yes, TR was rushed. But what more did anyone expect? It received no marketing and was announced 3/4 days before its actual release. It's a free game for people to try out Tekken and they'll slowly improve. Not sure what the big problem here is. I personally don't care for TR but I'm taking the positive out of it and seeing it as testing ground for new mechanics.

It doesn't have anything to do with Marvel. I think some Tekken people are sensitive.

But I don't understand how anyone can call a free game with an established engine rushed. It isn't perfect, but the core gameplay is there. It teaches new players to see certain critical moves and to not just mash buttons. It allows older players a new twist on the gameplay.

I would understand of they threw a broken mess out and told everyone to be happy with it. But they hardly even hyped the game, released a polished product, and are looking at fan feedback to make future decisions.

Edit: I guess my phone was on an old page

Get out of here. I'm not sensitive. :P

Especially for something like Tekken Revolution which I don't even like. Someone calling Tekken a bad franchise isn't exactly going to hurt my feelings either. lol

Yo the combos both RayRay and Insaynne are doing in this set are off the charts.

Dat Wesker side switch combo.

"Chaos Legion > Devil May Cry" - Nerd Josh, 2013
I bought Chaos Legion day 1 because it was hyped as "If you loved Devil May Cry, you'll love Chaos Legion". It's on the god damn back cover... I am looking at it right now!

It's not a DMC quality game despite running on the same engine as DMC2. Drab environments, monotonous monsters and just bad color tones all over the place. It did bring a lot of cool mechanics to the action genre with the whole summoning familiars and using assists in actual combat which supplemented your movelist.

I would love a next gen fully featured Chaos Legion that makes Sieg Warheit as fluid and expansive as someone like Dante/Nero with a whole slew of legions at his command. I would also like the limit of legions at one time to be expanded to 4 at once for some truly godlike strategy and synergies (of course up the number of total legions in the game).

Chaos Legion had a lot of potential but the things you mentioned here kept it from greatness

You almost described Kingdom Under Fire.

Whoa, the saltybet site is way different now from months ago. It looks like someone actually put effort into making it look nicer.

I actually find the way ChrisG promotes AGE products pretty funny. Fanatiq drops his promo code all over the place to the point of getting annoying, but ChrisG just wears like a dozen headphones and glasses and walks around like a Christmas tree while winning every tournament. In the end that might actually be better promotion for them.
