And? You can make a comment that "this is subject to change" by the leak. It's not fucking hard and its called covering your bases. When you make a sweeping and bold statement then be ready to fall with it.

Oh I had great fun with it don't get me wrong but some people were definitely annoyed by it. I think the worst one was definitely the red mutha fucker hint... I mean all the hints were leading to Carnage until Lupinko started specifically steering towards Firebrand.

I agree. It really felt like a Bingo of who will get in and who will be out. He brought the hype and the red herrings. It was an amazing hype thread when MvC3 came out.

When you post on GAF you have to abide by the rules. The TOS clearly states:



So if you say stuff like "FFXV is PS4 exclusive" that is a knowingly false statement and breaches the terms of service for GAF that is grounds for a ban. You can post a hundred accurate leaks but if you put down one false one that is grounds for banning. Its the same thing for posting a bigot comment... you can have a pristine record of not even uttering a single profane word but one is all it takes. If you start relaxing the leak policies then you should start relaxing the other rules too... and this is GAF so that is not going to happen. It's why people post here, they know the rules are strict and you are accountable for your posts (it even says so in the god damn TOS).

Also I would I like to add that I am not even asking for permaban. Just a 2 week ban for a false leak. So you can leak all you want just be ready for the hammer in case you get something wrong.

The keyword is knowingly. If the leakers believe their information is accurate, they're not in the wrong even if it turns out to be false.

That is a slippery slope. Any false leaker can "believe their information is accurate" and put the blame on someone/something else when they get something wrong.

My level head is what is allowing me to keep making these posts. If I wasn't level headed then I would say let that shit rock so you can have numerous random leakers throwing out random stuff until something sticks and they are declared "prophets". Clearly we don't have that on GAF, people have and will continue to get banned for false information. Overall I am actually very pleased with the way GAF handles this.

People think someone like Thuway getting banned was wrong, I simply disagree.

Well I said pretty much everything for Lupinko because the information that I saw he posted was accurate. Maybe he posted some inaccurate information somewhere that I didn't see but what I saw was fully accurate. I mean if he got something wrong he should be banned of course but he didn't as far as I know.

Isn't the system there to prevent randoms from pretending to have inside information, not to punish actual insiders?

It seems like following the letter of the law and not the spirit of the law when you ban insiders who gave information without the intent of being deceitful.

Only when someone is claiming to have inside knowledge or when leaks are involved. There aren't even that many full blown leakers on GAF.
 
Honestly this is such a small issue that we have forgotten the bigger issue which is banning all Svennson related information from GAF.

Yeah I saw that forum, that was a fucking cesspool... way worse than the GAF thread here. Even the UMVC3 Lupinko thread was a cluster fuck.
