The Witcher 2 getting full combat rebalance mod with new animations and big changes

It points to your installation when it installs, but the actual mod gets put into the same witcher directory that the saved games do in the documents folder.

Is it supposed to go there? That's where mine installed to, but the mod isn't working. Nothing's changed from what I can tell. I can't move while blocking or anything.

Might want to hold off until this weekend when Flash posts the patch to the mod. There is some outstanding issues that could make playing less than fun right now.

Fuck this shit! I beat this game for the first time a few weeks back and would have loved these changes. Still the game was amazing but I wish I had waited so I could experience the game again with all of this. Maybe when TW3 comes close to releasing ill do another playthrough.

You need to activate it from "mods" in the launcher. Possibly you need to start the launcher with admin priviledges.

Well if you only beat it once you didn't see the entire game. You really need to play it at least twice to fully experience it.

Cool, I didn't really like combat in TW2 and gave up because of it. Really looking forward to this update, will have another go at the game once it's out.

And yes the support CDPR provide for their games is superb.

Same for me. I gave up and didn't even finished the tutorial. The fighting was so annoying for me...

But, well done, CDP. I will try again after installing this. Hope now I can enjoy it.

Is there a way to riposte an enemy's attack? I skipped the tutorial because of the bug not telling you how but it would be nice knowing if it is still possible somehow.

Patch 3.4 screwed with my game, I really don't feel like uninstalling it and dwonloading all this shit again. Goddamn. If I download the GOG version will it update automatically?

I have a save of a third playthough right before
fighting Letho and choosing Roche or Iorveth.
Can I use that save with this mod? I assume I can considering previous answers but you never know.

Damn, the CDPR servers are getting Sasha Grey'd right now. I guess I'll wait a few hours more. Or are four playthroughs too much?

I seem to be getting the same problem, I have activated the mod and everything but I cant move and block at the same time, but something has changed as right now for some reason instead of parrying Geralt casts the selected sign on E instead of parrying.

Edit: Nope, parry doesnt work at all now, what I thought was parrying in the tutorial turns out to be have been a Aard sign being casted and the game accepted that as a parry.

Edit2: Okay so the parry is automatic now, forgot about that being mentioned in the changelog, however the riposte still remains a mystery.

I'm wondering if CDProjekt RED have any intention to add STEAM Workshop support. It would be so much easier to find and install MODs....

Can anybody send their UserContent.ini file from the Witcher 2 folder in Documents? I'm talking to those who have the mod working.

This guy most be playing on easy mode where damage is next to nil. I saw dude get hit in the back several times and take next to no damage, whereas half of my life would be missing after 1 backstab.

Can't remember, but, yeah, I've probably recorded gameplay at Normal, for exposing purpose.

BTW that was pretty much my style, the first time I finished the game, at Hard.

The second one was with Enhanced Edition, and I had to go mostly with magic, due the disgusting flavor of the 2.0 swordplay.

But I know very well that parry that actually doesn't parry, combos that stupidly stuck on the same foe, more than half of collisions disabled and sudden deaths without 'alarms' have alot of fans, especially among Quen & roll bitches not so familiar with action games.

can't understand how install it properly. I ran the installer, it installed it in my default directory but I can't choose the mod because it's just not there. WTF.

Strange, I didn't think it worked at first either but when I click "Mods" in the launcher, I see this

What version do you have? Steam, retail or GOG?

Love me some Windows 3.1 interface.

I love max responsiveness in my interface so I turned off all the shiny shit :P

Nothing pisses me off more than a laggy computer

GOG version and I can't see this!

Stupid question but have you downloaded the redkit and everything to make your version moddable? Patched to the newest version and everything? Cos it should work if you have done these things

Something's borked on your end.

Edit: Some people said the mod wasn't being installed on the game's folder, maybe that's what happened?

hm, and where does it go? Can I move files from there? It's installed in My Documents directory.

yes, it's installed.

I tried this a bit yesterday and I'll be honest: at first impression I'm not particularly in love with this mod.
The new Quen and the new automated block in particular are not my cup of tea.

You gotta take your UserContent.ini file in the Documents/Witcher 2/Config and do this.

It doesn't work properly because you have Polish cases in your Windows username or somewhere.

I did this and files didn't appear in mod launcher. Do they work by default now?

Should do. Easiest way to know if it's working is to hold down block with geralt now. He won't block with the sword anymore

So, is this good to have and compatible with Steam?

I am still in Flotsam, I could start over with a new game. Changes look promising.

It's better overall I think especially for the skill trees and the EXP you get. It is compatible with steam, I used it without issue

If you don't mind starting over then I would because your Geralt might be better balanced overall for it. Though I don't know if the skill tree stuff is affected much in the prologue

You gain a few levels in the prologue, which would go to waste when converting from the vanilla game to the mod since the training tree is Free in the mod. So definitely worth restarting.

So, just download the mod and I guess there are instructions on how to install it?
