So I just went to pick up my €29,98 Skyrim Collector's Edition.

The size of this thing!

Dutch and BelgiumGAF: both the 360 and PS3 versions are still up on the GameMania website, so you might still be able to get one (if you have room for it, that is.)

It might take a while though: I had ordered mine 2 weeks ago.

Edit: links for 360 / PS3

OMG OMG - although Skyrim on PS3 sucks ass, I would really love to get that artbook and the dragon would be a nice bonus.

shipping was?

I just picked it up at the store. I don't think they ship internationally.
Yeah, I had planned of picking up the Legendary edition for PC anyway and play that instead. But this CE was too good an offer.

Well that sucks big massive donkey dick.

*goes looking for cheap flights*

Anyone selling club nintendo codes for the so many games promotion? I needed two (Any except fire emblem or DKcountry).

I'll PayPal €5 each for them.

(hope this post doesn't break thread rules)

Your sister could send one to me too?

I just looked up weight - it's 5kg. Incredible. Postnl.nl doesn't even list prices for international packages >2kg. It says "rates available on request"

It's probably not going to be worth it.
I looked up the Belgian shipping rates ("Tarieven" tab) for packages of up to 5kg. (and for this package it will likely be in the next category 5-30kg)

Up to 5kg
To neighbouring countries: 16,20 euros
To the rest of the EU: 32,40 euros
To rest of Europe and Meditteranean: 32,40 euros
To the rest of the world: 64,80 euros.

5-30kg
neighbours: 16,20
rest of EU: 48,60
rest of Europe: 64,80
rest of world: 129,60

Dutch postal services should be notably cheaper though, but still...

You can buy the artbook off eBay starting from $20.

Nice one, will grab rayman and Pikmin from there - cheers! How are they for delivery? I've tried both codes and neither seem to add a discount unfortunately.. the base pre order prices are pretty good though!

Do they ship international or UK only? (Germany)

Do they ship international or UK only? (Germany)

They ship internationally (they are based in Hong Kong actually), I think shipping is always free. They even have a German storefront, btw. But the prices are not the same. Sometimes the German shop has the better offer, sometimes it's the other way round.

It seems the codes only work for existing customers. When I just tried the code, it asked me to login. Didn't want to ruin the codes for me yet :P I'm still thinking about getting Resident Evil 6. Maybe I should preorder Rayman Legends. Not sure what to do.

They ship from Hong Kong. Which means it will take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

I think they ship everywhere. At least they definitely ship to whole Europe, not just UK.

Ah, I see. Do they ship it well before launch usually?

A while ago I ordered the three Ace Attorney games that were on sale on Play-Asia.
I bought 3 games for 38 Euro's and I picked the cheapest shipping method (shipping to the Netherlands). However, the postman came at the door today and I had to pay an additional 21.19 Euro's customs duty :( Is this normal? I had no idea, I thought these costs were included in the shipping method but apparently not i guess?

It is normal. Every order over 22 euros makes you liable for import duties. Those will be like 10 euros or so, but then the postal services charge you 10 euros extra to bring it (from customs) to your door. Which is basically ransom money, because they never inform you that your package was held up at customs.

Apparently you can ask Play-Asia to mark your order down (sub-22 euros) though, to avoid this from happening. It's what I'll do with my next order, because I've been through a similar ordeal, only my order was only 24 euros. :-)

Thanks for the explanation Foobarry81! I should have know :P Anyway I am still happy and I will enjoy my games anyway :D

Also what you can do group the games into sub-22 Euro groups. I know at least a few years ago it did not seem to cost any more for shipping when compared having them all in one package (well these days it is different as you would lose the free shipping but customs is terrible in the UK*).

Marking down items can cause problems for loss recovery (if it gets damage in transit you can only claim the declared value :/).

*-on top of the 20% tax there is £8 handling fee from Royal Mail. They have a monopoly on this (outside of other couriers with similar fees) unless someone has found a way to contact HMRC and fill in the rumoured customs paperwork that the £8 post office handling fee covers.

Man, some sites have weird delivery options. WOWHD is shipping to every freaking country, except Romania. I am so sick of this, many online shops ship to our neighbours, even to non EU members like Serbia, but not to us. Now I have to wait for another good Rayman Wii U deal, hopefully from game oder 365games :(

I've just collected a Vita game from the Post Office (UK) that I bought on eBay from the US, with £11.02 to pay.

£8 Royal Mail handling fees, £3.02 VAT.

The value declared on the outside by the eBay seller worked out at £15.40. 40p over the allowed limit of £15.00.

oof, bad luck. i once bought something from a guy in the US on eBay, paid £13 something.
on the customs form he put what he thought it was worth, which put it over the limit so i had to pay an extra £12. i was not happy.

Customs duty is fair enough, but I hate those handling fees. Most of the games I buy from japan get hit by them.

What's odd is that I've had maybe four games from Japan arrive in the past month, all marked at a higher price but with nothing to pay. Is it just luck if you don't get hit?

That handling fee is a killer.

I got hit pretty hard a few years ago for a big Threadless order and avoided them for some time after it but I noticed recently they offered a "pre-pay duty" option so used them again. Super-fast and you're only paying VAT on top of it, I wish that was more widespread in online shopping as to be honest I'd rather pay a small fee I knew about and speed the process up than potentially get hit for a bigger one that wipes out the saving I was making.

The only time I've got hit by customs duty was when I thought it was *obvious* Guitar Hero would never come out over here so I went to the effort to import it.

Ooops. That one stung.

That said, I think I did some good work as an ambassador for the series over here at the time as a result :-)

Amazon do that too. I ordered a Kindle from Amazon US for my brother (back when you couldn't order one from Euro Amazons) and the import duty was included.

Hm, those codes don't seem to work for me. It says "promotional code applied to cart", but the prices stay the same.

Right. I just tried. It seems they really do not work on preorders, although the mail stated "15% off everything" :(

EDIT: Hmmm really strange. It says "applied", but even when I put Resident Evil 6 in the basket it still doesn't work.
EDIT2: It seems it handles Resident Evil 6 and Pikmin 3 and so on as "already discounted items". Because the codes work on other preorders.

Having ordered numerous items of various values from Asia and the US (delivered to the UK) I've only been charged twice. Once was for a pocket watch from the US and the other for the JP release of Demon's Souls, so I would definitely go along with the "random" element.

It is very random, yeah. Though, the bigger it is the more likely it'll get hit since they assume size = value.

I believe it also depends on where the package is coming from. A, package from China for example is more likely to be investigated than a Canadian package, I think.
