3DS Streetpass Experiences

LatinoGAF sounds awesome. LOL.

and it's actually a really good idea, in my city we have some sort of comic convention twice a year, but it has become shittier and shittier with each year. I got a nice quantity of tags there, but it's still too random, and maybe I'm getting older, but I don't find the conventions really apealing anymore. Right now it's 80% Naruto merchandise, 10% memes craps, and 10% of whatever it's popular at the moment.

I have the same problem. I guess I'm just too old for this shit.

On the other hand, I think I'll just get my 3DS and camp outside of one of these anime conventions the next time. Because fuck paying for Street Passing. If only I had a car that I could park in front of the place and just chill for a bit.. :D

Also, I've found a group that did monthly meetups for 3DS Street Passing using http://www.meetup.com/Nintendo3DS/ - Maybe you'll find some too.

I live in a small university town about 4-5 hours away from NYC, and here in town I have streetpassed three or four times. Whenever I go to the city I make it a point to hit up the Nintendo World store, and between that and just random walking around I have about 50 people in my plaza.

Oh so the new update brought with it 20 new achievements..... yay!

:(

There are some cool changes though, you can receive multiple fantastic ratings from the same mii/3DS now for one.

I've had 9 passes in the last week (not including the special Nintendo miis).

Post-e3 hype or the Animal Crossing effect?

I live in southern Ontario and currently have 142 tags.

I get a bunch at the university campus and the mall but have gotten them on random bus rides and even in my apartment. I've definitely noticed a pick up in the number too since the beginning of this year so I recommend to keep your 3DS with you! Wherever you buy video games from is usually a sure bet to get a few

and 99 new hats...GOTTA CATCH THEM ALL!

According to HuntTheMusic on the last page, you won't earn hats for playing the new minigames. Instead, you have to buy them with tickets you earn from playing the games. Also, the store rotates their selection every day. It shouldn't be too hard to collect everything if they only rotate in items you haven't already purchased, I'd imagine.

Milestones get you Plaza Tickets and these can be spent in the Exchange Shop for special items for your Mii. Heres the kicker though the shop only has five items at a time and changes daily! I have five plaza tickets so far from spending a few play coins on each game recruting some past Miis.

So everyone is saying that the new puzzle pieces are Xenoblade, Skyward Sword, NSMBU and something called "heriones".

I got neither of them and got Animal Crossing: New Leaf instead...

I love AC but my heart was really racing for that Xenoblade piece. Damn it! :(

Just an update guys Streetpass Mansion is a lot more indepth than I first thought you have a storage box, weapon upgrades, a system where by you feed weapons to other ones to upgrade them. The weapons are cosmetically different on your Mii and increase in strength and have different abilities. There must also be some kind of shop somewhere on each floor of the mansion because I am picking up Gems which act as some kind of currency.

You can also gift old weapons to streetpass Miis but I have no idea what that does yet. On the downside I was enjoying it so much I dumped 30 play coins into it today aswell as my three streetpass Miis that I met. Addictive is not the word.

Re the new hats thing. I got a new hat for purchasing each game but haven't unlocked any 'in game' yet they all have to be redeemed via the plaza tickets so far. I think you get a plaza ticket for each accomplishment and each game has 22.

Also my plaza shop hasn't changed since yesterday as I expected it to. Wondering if I need to buy a hat before a replacement hits the shop.

The Animal Crossing puzzle came out a month or two ago. Was this the first time you connected your 3DS to the Internet? Have you done the system update that was pushed out this week?

It's quite an intensive process going to the plaza now that there are 6 Streetpass games (as well as all the full games with Streetpass function).

That's been a nibbling concern for me. Find Mii I/II/Secret Quest is all played out, so it's just puzzle pieces, right now. Add in more games, and they really need to increase the size of the queue. Going someplace where it's actually likely to get hits? You'd never leave the plaza, as you'd get more hits by the time you've played all four games with your StreetPass people. Guess these four games will have an end, too, so as you finish them off, you can stop going to them, I suppose.

I never got Anomua during E3 and I haven't gotten Tanabe today.

Also, I hate you @NintenoAmerica. Seriously. I got over a hundred StreetPasses yesterday in two hours and today I expect that to double if not triple. And what can I do with these StreetPasses? Oh yeah, it's only pumping my numbers up because you haven't had the decency to push out the Mii Plaza update to us and take my $15.

Be glad. I bought these games and went to a 3DS meet-up with 30 people. I spent almost 1 hour and a half to clear them all from all games.
They need to update the 10 streetpass hit limit.

I guess it would be wise to just buy one, maybe two games to not be overwhelmed by the amount of stuff to do with your streetpasses,

But you miss out on that buy three get one free deal.

Still best to focus on one at a time though. At least then you will not run the risk of running out of games for the foreseeable future.

I was hoping they would do that in this last update. Bummer... :(

In conferences and places with loads of 3DS's having to check it and clear the queue every minute is less than ideal.

So I take it that the new games are a bit more time intensive?

That will certainly make major events and conventions somewhat interesting.

Well at first it's mostly because of tutorials and cutscenes for Squad and Garden. the other two are a bit lighter in that aspect. That said it varies.
Mansion with 10 people will take a bit of time, for example.
All considered they're not that long in "normal" occasions. The real time problem lies in the fact that there are now 6 games to purge. Of course you can choose to focus on less than that and skip some, though.

Quick question, can you use the same group of StreetPasses for every game?

I'm guessing yes, and yeah, that would be something of a time sink.

But I'm 100% done with all versions of Find Mii already, so that's one less to worry about.

They probably did.

When a new puzzle piece is sent out, you don't automatically get one of the new puzzles. You get a random piece from any one puzzle you haven't started (which obviously includes the new ones).

It honestly doesn't take too long to go through the set of games once you're past the tutorials.

If you're only pulling-in one or two passes a day, progress is pretty slow. If you make any at all.

The Gardening one takes the longest for me. Mendel keeps telling me new features of the game every day, whereas the others are play-and-done. Find Mii also runs faster since the update, for those who prefer to press down the right-shoulder button to speed it up.

Garden is simultaneously the most-complicated and least-involved game.

A lot of text but not much to do.

dunno man, after three days and 35 passes the game really grew on me (punpunpun).

it really opens up later when you (slight spoilers):

-get specific orders for flowers
-can pimp your garden
-start crossing different flowers to get now ones
-buying super awesome pots for the flowers
-buy a whole new garden (eeeexpensive!)
-buy/sell seeds. sell flowers

and so on. really was disappointed at the start but I think GREZZO really did really something here. I mean... I enjoy digital planting. something worked here.

I never used the streetpass feature before (not a fan of leaving my consoles in sleep mode, I either have it on or off), then I went to a Zelda concert. Now I have over 100 people in my plaza and unlocked some cool stuff, If I had checked the gates more to keep clearing people out I would have had more street passes. It's pretty fun to just see all these people line up at my gate and what games they play and their Miis.

Well that sounds promising.

So far I have just been doing whatever the dude has instructed.

StreetPass Squad is great, as someone that grew up with Nemesis/Salamander/R-Type its delightful to see someone hasn't forgotten.

just sucks that you can use a squad for one round.
but when you think about it... everything else would break the game.
also it looks like high replay value.

People who have game-specific streetpass stuff set-up but not Mii plaza activated are monsters.

Streak of consecutive days snapped.

I've had this happen but always assumed that maybe their queue was just filled up for the Plaza? I think you're right, though... I'm sure there are a decent amount of people who have never even opened the app.
