STEAM Announcements/Updates 2013 - Summer sale start date? No one knows, don't ask

Edit: What is an issue number and why does Get Games hate my money

Issue numbers are used for certain debit cards ie Switch and Solo cards in Europe. If your card doesn't have one just leave it blank.

Get Games does have a weird merchant system. I've been sent Steam codes before for a purchase that did not complete but were unable to be redeemed due to the transaction failing. I emailed their support and apparently that was the way they handled out of stock keys. Hope it's changed now but they used to be a funny old bunch.

I'm glad, even if obs doesn't get a single penny new vegas just can't be played enough

and yeah getgamesgo has rejected my money in the past, it took me a couple tries but it finally worked
I think I remember a gaf post with a ton of the best NV mods listed somewhere I have to find it now

Gave up and decided to use my other card, then I saw an email from my bank telling me it was declined because they thought the charges were fraudulent. I think the same thing happened with GMG at first.

I've heard Get Games and Gamersgate have funky ways of handling keys. Thankfully, these were instant

Is there any promotion going on for GMG? Thinking of picking up 2K13 since it's on sale at a decent price

Edit: Nevermind, found it. GMG20-6WUSQ-LBC4U for the lazy.

Saints Row the Third made that job easy for me

Brilliant, stealing that one.

Ugh, I get "Sorry, we have been unable to authorise your payment on this occasion." when I try to order dishonered and Falout NV :'(
Why don't they want my money?

Get Loaded Bethesda is now live

Pick two games for €12 or $15, all Steam redeemable
  • Dishonored
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion GOTY Deluxe
  • Doom 3 BFG
  • Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Pack
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY
  • Fallout 3: GOTY
  • Hunted: The Demons Forge
  • Brink
  • RAGE

Oh, new design. Somewhat cleaner. But the mobile GAF kinda broken
Gamersgate had the better deal.

I kinda wanna buy Oblivion and New Vegas for PC, should I do this or wait for the Steam Sale and hope they end up cheaper?

Might grab Dishonored and Fallout 3 GOTY. Want to give the PC version of Dishonored a go and I've got a Fallout itch I've needed to scratch for a while.

I picked up Oblivion: GOTY Deluxe for £4.99 a few years back and that's usually as low as it goes. New Vegas was cheaper when it was individually sold but the Ultimate Edition has gone down to £7.49 before.

I'd love for a Dishonored 'Complete Edition' TBH.

Or a very reasonable discount on Knife of Dunwall. Bought the Trails dlc but haven't really looked at it tbh.

I'll wait for the summer sale, then. My wallet is not ready.

Out of twenty-four games on my wishlist, twenty-two of them are under $10.

My wallet does not fear the summer sale.

But yeah, I do hope they do another achievement meta-game, but I'm feeling this year it'll revolve around cards somehow.

Out of about sixty games on my wishlist, I only want like eight. My wallet does not fear the summer sale either.

I always stuff my wishlist with stuff I wouldn't dream of buying just in case Valve bring back a competition to win the top 10 from your list. That and I hope some day Anno 1404 comes back on to Steam (well if Ubi ever fix the bloody thing).

I beat Tomb Raider this morning. dumb game in general but nice to look at. The bow was pretty fun to use too.

I'd say spend no more than 10 dollars on it during the summer sale.

Checkpointing in Mafia II kinda sucks. Nothing like suddenly getting kamikaze'd by the AI and having to do a whole shooting sequence over and over.

Can I post something in an official Steam community hub without having random people send me friend requests? Rargh.

What is that all about?

I only bother topping up my wishlist when Valve hosts a "Win your wishlist" competition. If memory serves, though, there hasn't been one since the Winter Sale of 2011, where the grand prize was every game on Steam.

Winning that would be a curse for you, you'd have no more challenge.

I'm also hoping for the sale specific achievements. I'm a not an achievement whore but it does get me to play some of the titles that I've purchased on the cheap that haven't been touched

Well, I just cleared out most of my wishlist and it's now limited to stuff I actually want and is ordered, an improvement I feel :P.

1st time steam user here and I don't to start a new thread, I've trying my best to avoid dd except gog. Succumbed the other day and ordered walking dead through gf sale.

I have 2 question,

My current region is UK and if I take my laptop whenever I travel, would my games locked out?

Is there anything I should be careful about offline mode?

or any tips are much appreciated

thanks!

Pretty sure you shouldn't have to worry about either.

First question: No, you'll have no problems playing your games.

Second question: The only tip for offline mode is to make sure you shut down Steam manually. I'm not sure if this is still a problem, but many people found that letting Windows shut down the process during normal shut-down actually messed with the files that were responsible for allowing you to start in offline.
