Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

No, moron. It's dumb because it'd be easy to include Wonder Red and difficult to include Bayonetta. My post made sense, your attempt to be clever doesn't.

You don't need to call other people a name because you are upset that I'm trying to attempt a failed clever with you.

I'm guessing that English is not your first language, in which case I apologize.

Yeah, you're right that English isn't my first language.

He's deaf.

I really, really hope that they do trophies, maybe even bosses, of franchises not represented in Smash Bros. by characters - especially for third parties.

I want to fight Dracula.

Sonic has to be in this. Specially after the "unprecedented partnership" from Sega and Nintendo this year.

Sonic and Mega Man, that's enough for me regarding 3rd Party characters.

EDIT: And maybe Nintendo can suprise us with Captain Rainbow as the unknown Japanese character... the hell, if they included Wii Fit Trainer already...

My dream roster:
Simon Belmont
Little Mac
Arthur
Mega Man
Pit
Mario
Samus
Link
DK
Fox
Cap Falcon
Kirby
Poke Trainer
Classic Sonic

Black Mage?

Keep it tight and classic. All my boyhood vg fantasies in one place.

I like Bayonetta.

But really, she has no place in Smash. I don't get why some people argue she should be in. She's a third party character who have appeared in 1 game in gaming history, and that game did not appear on a Nintendo platform.

Its sequel, sure, will be exclusive to the WiiU. But really, is that all that it takes now? Simply to have a game on a Nintendo platform, regardless to gaming history or anything, for people to clamor and see hope in a character? She is not in any remote way on the same tier as Mega Man, Sonic or Snake or PacMan or Simon Belmont, or alot of more worthy contenders for third parties slots.

I mean, if you want to delude yourself or get into some senseless hype, sure. But I keep seeing her pop up, and every time I get in this mental monologue. Just wanted to post it once.

And? There's only one Nintendo-exclusive MGS game (and it's a remake too boot), but they still put Snake in Brawl.

What's the idea with people wanting just Wonder Red to be in the game? The whole point of W101 is that they're a giant team, and they really only work as a team..

Are you equating Bayonetta's relevancy and cultural impact in video games to that of Snake's?

I'm just gonna quote myself here :

To be fair, I don't even agree with Snake being there in the first place. But, despite that, I had to recognize that at the very least he was a big gaming cultural icon. I don't see him coming back this time around, though, and I laugh equally at those saying he should come back bringing up MGS 3DS, a poor port of a decade old game. If MGS had more presence on Nintendo since Brawl than that, maybe, but that did not happen. I really don't see him coming back, favor or not.

Bayonetta is nothing. You may have loved her first game. You may hate Metal Gear Solid. It doesn't matter ; in the grand scheme of thing, Bayonetta is just another game in the industry, one that bombed. Barely managed to get a sequel going thanks to Nintendo. She would have died otherwise, just like hundreds of other similar games. She has zero gaming relevancy, zero cultural prestige.

As I said in my first post, I like Bayonetta. If she gets in and I have to eat crow, I won't even be mad. But I really believe people are disillusional in their hopes and logics to make her seem somehow worthy of even being considered for Smash - nevermind the fact that a Sega 3rd Party slot with always, defacto, go to Sonic.

I thought I was dealing with a native speaker, realized I wasn't, and promptly apologized. Are you having trouble reading my last quote there?

No, I'm having trouble seeing how any of that excuses you from snapping at him the way you did. What he said could not conceivably be construed as rude or insulting, and yet shots were fired for no apparent reason. The again, considering all the unwarranted hostility between you and Tathanen a few pages back (which was mainly instigated by you), I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

If that was your point then I think you could have left out most of those quotes. Brevity is the soul of wit.

I have to imagine that's implied. Wonder Red just stands at the forefront of the team.
But it's not an Olimar type situation where it's solely him at the forefront and the other members (ala Pikmin) always follow. Wonder Red is only the leader of the team in a symbolic way, but he's still very much one member of a group of people who can all take turns at the forefront. This is more of a Pokemon Trainer type situation the way I see it, with each member being pretty much equal.

As an action game, Bayonetta has been said to be one of the best if not the best action game of this generation. You say she is nothing but you even stated that Nintendo was the one who brought her back from the grave. So Nintendo, for whatever reason, seen some type of opportunity by doing so, giving her worth. There have been many games that would have suffered the same fate as Bayonetta if they weren't given a chance. Just look F-Zero, Star Fox, etc,: series that would love some attention from Nintendo. And logic and worth is all based on Sakurai's thoughts and wishes and he has time and time again surprised us so anything can happen. I've thrown logic, for the most part, out of the window with this guy. I think Sonic will probably be back but I would love to see Bayo in Smash even if her chances are really slim.

If Bayonetta doesn't make it into this game, I'll never be able to play it without regretting the missed opportunity.

There are hundreds of potential "missed opportunities" from the massive pool of video game characters. I don't see why there's so much yearning for Bayonetta to show up in a game that celebrates Nintendo's video game legacy.

She had no history with Nintendo. She hardly has any history of her own. Totally irrelevant to what Smash is trying to accomplish.

If she gets in, I'll accept it. I like the character, but I just don't think she belongs in Smash.

Can you name another Nintendo published game that caused so much jealous rage and lust among the other tribes?

Rayman Legends!

nintendo published, nevermind.

Bayonetta's inclusion would be very beneficial to Nintendo. It would give the character the type of exposure she needs for her game to sell. If the game sells well, exclusively on a single Nintendo platform, then that tells third party publishers that non-Nintendo franchises and Mature rated games can sell on the Wii U... in turn getting Nintendo more third party support. It's not necessarily what's best for Smash, but it would be very good for Nintendo.

I think that tells 3rd parties that they need smash bros to do well.

They wouldn't know that it was helped by Smash though. And they wouldn't care either.

I think Bayonetta gets this type of reaction from people because she's a very polarizing character without a long history. i can't think of another 3rd party character in her position right now.

She has more of a history than W101 lol, including a cameo. And I totally agree with the missed opportunities but Sakurai has stated more than once, iirc, that there is a smaller pool of characters than we think. So it could mean anything. I tell you this guy just thinks differently. lol

And I get what you're saying about what Smash is trying to accomplish, but it still all depends on Sakurai and what he feels is best and what opportunity arises.

Can you name another Nintendo published game that caused so much jealous rage and lust among the other tribes?

So the bitterness of the rival fans is what's going to convince Sakurai to add a totally irrelevant character? Huh.

And Bayonetta is the character who embodies M rated games? Her inclusion is going to bring about a golden era where third party publishers start making games on the WiiU? Lets not go that far, the business world doesn't work like that.

Yknow, I'm thinking that Sakurai/Namco are using the technical disparities between the two versions as a way to balance some characters.

For example, Olimar is a very, very powerful character and would probably be brought into line if he had 3 Pikmin max, as an example.

Strongly disagree, unless you're thinking the same about Snake. Snake had nothing to do in Smash. Maybe in Melee, because TTS and the GBColor games was closer, but in Brawl? Why was he here? To celebrate Kojima's traditionnal "I want to make a different game for Nintendo's system", followed by nothing concrete? At least if Bayonetta is here it will remember everyone how a game will have never been released if it wasn't for PG/Nintendo work.

Snake isn't an outlier. He has a legacy, and is a significant contributor to the history of gaming (like Mega Man). Not to mention Kojima practically begged for Snake to get in. Their close friendship (Sakurai and Kojima's) allowed this to happen.

I highly doubt Kamiya, who tells "idiot" fans to "fuck off" about Smash, went and asked for her to be put in.

Way to twist my words pal ;)

I exaggerated your words. Bayonetta doesn't have that level of significance.

Listen guys, I'm not afraid of being wrong. Heck, if she gets in, I'll embrace it.

What got me to go on a bit of a rant was people (a person) acting like she was a necessity for Smash to be great or something. Smash is going to be one solid game, with or without Bayonetta. No missed opportunities there.
