Are you equating Bayonetta's relevancy and cultural impact in video games to that of Snake's?
I'm just gonna quote myself here :
To be fair, I don't even agree with Snake being there in the first place. But, despite that, I had to recognize that at the very least he was a big gaming cultural icon. I don't see him coming back this time around, though, and I laugh equally at those saying he should come back bringing up MGS 3DS, a poor port of a decade old game. If MGS had more presence on Nintendo since Brawl than that, maybe, but that did not happen. I really don't see him coming back, favor or not.
Bayonetta is nothing. You may have loved her first game. You may hate Metal Gear Solid. It doesn't matter ; in the grand scheme of thing, Bayonetta is just another game in the industry, one that bombed. Barely managed to get a sequel going thanks to Nintendo. She would have died otherwise, just like hundreds of other similar games. She has zero gaming relevancy, zero cultural prestige.
As I said in my first post, I like Bayonetta. If she gets in and I have to eat crow, I won't even be mad. But I really believe people are disillusional in their hopes and logics to make her seem somehow worthy of even being considered for Smash - nevermind the fact that a Sega 3rd Party slot with always, defacto, go to Sonic.
