Fighting Games Weekly | June 24-30 | Twitch, pay your paaAAAaartners for god's sake!

Yeah on UltraChen it seems like they were looking at that. FunkyP is the 3rd stream it seems, not iPW, which is weird because the CEO Gaming website only lists CEO Gaming, iPW and Capcom Fighters. Will edit OP now.

EDIT: or not?

On the ceo site it says

Full Pool Listing, Schedule and More LIVE Wednesday June 26th at 11 pm EST Here!

so I'll just wait for that to be sure

Good thing no one takes this part of the ToS seriously

No one cares about old ass games for this rule duh

Guys, I have a confession to make. At the end of the midnight premiere at my theater for Man of Steel, I yelled "Yo when's Mahvel" expecting to get heckled.

surprisingly someone yelled back "it's on after AE"

champ is pretty much saying the same thing jaxel said about big TO's making good money.

Are people still whining about this? Why do TOs have the obligation to not make money from the tourneys they spend so much time and effort on? Why are they slaves with the obligation to sacrifice themselves for the players?

Champ just wishes they were all as good to the community as John Nelson was

champ wasn't whining about them making money and even said he wants them to make money but he was calling b.s on some saying they were making less than minimum wage.

"The Teleport Punch (Down + Back + 3) on block is now -8 and slightly pushes back farther." This is for the METER BURN version only.
So, going from ~ +9 to -8?
Boy, that's one hell of a change...

I really don't like NRS DLC and patching philosophy. Sure it works for mobas, but mobas are not fighting games, they don't require you to know frame datas and spend hours in the lab trying to find/master your options against a given character...

Don't worry, NRS players don't do any of that

Actually both Blizzard and Valve make pretty minor adjustments on every patch and usually wait months to fix something even if the community is unanimously calling for nerfs, just to confirm that there are no in-game solutions. Blizzard only makes bonkers changes in betas. I hear about how Riot consistently releases overpowered heroes so people will be encouraged to buy them, but I don't know how much truth there is to that since I don't follow it.

It's gonna be shitty if the crowd is sparse for Friday Evo finals. Maybe one of the unintended consequences of not having all finals on Sunday.

This almost seems bound to happen since there's no Marvel all day. Does a crowd normally turn out for TTT, MK, and P4A? I haven't seen any stream numbers for these games.

Dunno why that's so hard to believe. If you only count the tournament weekend itself toward their hours -- and don't count the recuperation of personal expenses and such -- then maybe they break minimum wage. But there's got to be hundreds of hours that go into planning and executing a major ... easily.

Yeah, but making minimum wage isn't the same as only barely making a profit at an event or coming out with a small profit. Because while they may only make minimum wage after calculating time spent working on it, coming out with say 7k into the black, as an example, is still quite a bit.

Moreover, most folks don't mind TOs making a profit. I think, aside from arguing for that fact, people want to be properly compensated for the work they do, assuming they aren't doing it for free.

Are you willing to live a life earning 7K a year?

What does that even have to do with anything? Even if you're making a profit on an event, you should be properly paying out the folks you said you would then whatever is left is yours. That's the biggest reason people raise a stink.

Who's not getting paid what they're promised?

I remember Champ being very vocal about the venue fee a while back, for majors anyways. Instead of paying $40-50, he said that it should be around $20 instead. That way it doesn't scare away potential new players who wants to get into the games but don't want to pay so much knowing they'll just get bodied. Going by John's numbers and math, making a reasonable profit from such a low venue fee sounds incredibly hard unless you're getting 1000+ in attendance which neither NCR or ECT probably get all that close to.

I just got my first smartphone (Droid DNA) - are there any good FGC apps I should think about getting?
Now to figure out how to get apps...

Kinda late on this one, but grab Pulse news. It's a general news app which you can connect to most websites on. On mine I have IPW, Eventhubs and SRK. Pretty useful imo
