Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Wow, I must say I'm really surprised by this Cytus Lambda game. Great production values and works really well. I can actually see myself just grabbing this (full game with 70+ songs plus free future DLC for $11.99) instead of spending $50 on DJ Max.

Technika Tune is more expensive, but it's the better purchase. Compared to Cytus there's more features, deeper gameplay, and much higher production values.

Though I guess Cytus isn't bad for the price; I just found it really lacking in most areas coming off of DJMAX.

Well my Vita is now pretty much my most played console these past few weeks.

Jak Trilogy
Epic Mickey 2
Lego Chima
Hotline Miami
Soul Sacrifice

Hardly touched my PS3 except to play some Dark Souls here and there. Just wish more people would start digging the Vita too....

So interview with roll7 should be up tomorrow afternoon. I'll be interview Muteki Corporation about Dragon Fantasy Book II next. Does anybody have any questions for them?

I have played Rayman Origins on PC. But i have to say it is also a lot of fun on Vita for sure. That Oled screen is pretty amazing. Also love the apps.

No system sellers, all ports, no retail games because we all know games are announced immediately when they are greenlit by publishers and there has never been extremely negative, overblown backlash by showing a game too early with unfinished code and obviously when unfinished code is shown it is representative of where development is in that exact moment in time and not months back because that build is the most stable.

I really want to buy some old games and/or rebuy some games I got digitally. Still waiting on good prices for:

- Ridge Racer
- Dungeon Hunter
- Tekken x SF
- COD
- Lego games
- Reality Fighters

Would like to get physical: GR, Unit 13, NGS, W2048, D3, MGSC, LBPV, VT4. I started all digital but as soon as my MC filled up and I'm being flooded with indie stuff I'm moving towards retail for big games.

Is Tekken x SF worth buying on Vita? I have it on Steam but I don't like fighters on PC really.

I can support this logic. How big is the install? Only downside is there's no trophy support for PSM games.

And not a single platinum!

Bwahaha.

i really hope i'm wrong, but the screen shots just give me the impression I won't play for more than 15 minutes
Isn't it mostly a text based story thing with some puzzles? I added it to my account, but won't bother to ever download it, probably.

games that are story driven often make me cringe.

Story can be a good thing for me... but I like games where I don't get bored from reading walls and walls of text. I think I would get bored of VLR reaaaaalllly quick.

I hate how in Hotline Miami there's no quick replay option. I have to quit to the main menu, then continue and select my level. Yeah, I can skip the intro bit, but I'd love to just have it let me quickplay some levels. :\

yea, then when you beat the level, you have to watch the intro to the next. could be better

Just got a Vita!!!

Downloading a bunch of PS+ goodies

Any suggestions on what else I should get?

Persona 4 Golden, Uncharted, make sure you play Gravity Rush. Murmasa just came out so that is worth a shot and Soul Sacrifice is wicked cool and there is a community on GAF that plays it. Oh and if you even remotely like Disgaea then nab Disgaea 3 for the Vita it is wicked awesome.

I'm playing it just for the story since so many people here have been praising it. The puzzles in the demo seemed like a chore. Probably going to wait for the iOS version of 999 to be released before jumping in though...

hot shots golf, virtua tennis 4, sonic racing, guacamelee, new little kings story, VLR:Zeros Escape, sly 4, ....the list really goes on...

oh! congrats and welcome - would love to hear your impressions once youve had some time with it.

Also already got a 32GB card. Now just updated Firmware and downloading Uncharted.

Was the Assassin's Creed Game any good?

Depends on who you ask.
There's a bunch of glitchiness.
There are some technical problems (mostly performance).
Some of the touch screen/camera integration is bullshit.
But it really delivers that AC experience I expect.... it's worth the $14 I paid for digital on sale a few weeks ago, I think.

Are you US region... that will help us decide what games to recommend, since you already have PS+.

Was these posted before?

Oh man, I need to Tearaway n mah veins yesterday. And Killzone.

Got Muramasa today from GS so I suppose that will have to do.

About to go enjoy Hotline in my bed.
Another reason why the Vita version is superior.

Slightly off topic, but has there been any real life footage of Nvidia Shield and latency?

CAN'T WAIT.

Looks like shit, ugly texels wireframe meshes everywhere look like vectrex brb selling my vita.

I like toto but I wish toto could look beyond the wide strokes of things. :(

I said many times it's my most hyped/most anticipated game on Vita.

and while graphically it look ugly but the gameplay videos look fun as hell.

999 disappointed me because I was expecting something a lot better than it ended up being.

Its puzzles were generally less contrived than the worst of the genre (thankfully), but many were still shockingly linear and devolved into pixel hunts. On repeat playthroughs, there are times where you still need to go through a bunch of unskippable crap, like being unable to input a code you'd already know until you did exactly what the game wanted all over again. The "pivotal" decisions that set you on different story paths are also pretty arbitrary (making it impossible to predict the route you'll be going beforehand), and they ultimately don't matter since you'll be choosing each one eventually anyway. The writing also caught me off guard--lots of circuitous blathering and dry narration. For a game that relies so much on its text, 999's shockingly average in this department, as well. And the plot...well, if you think too hard about every little detail, some stuff falls apart, but the story is the game's best asset so no real complaints there.

I heard VLR fixed some of these things, but it's hard to get objective opinions since many of these games' most vocal fans tend to overlook everything beyond plot. Some stuff in 999 just came off really unpolished, something startling for a game with near-unanimous praise and a developer that I thought had a lot of previous experience with VNs. The puzzle-free iOS version of 999 makes a lot of sense to me since the original is by and large a VN with very little meaningful player input.

Hmm that sounds pretty cool.
Besides being a nifty port with some free DLC, SFxT also has some other stuff that works well on the platform. Messing around with character palettes and gem setups can help kill time, and four-player scramble matches scratch the same itch SFA3 Max's Dramatic/Reverse Dramatic battles did for me on PSP.

I want to not hate it, but that garbage section is infuriating. Get there without loss of life then they're all gone in an instant.

You're not the first person I read complaining about that but it seemed easy to me. Just stay in the middle of the garbage?
