Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

People who legitimately think ROB has any chance of being cut are hilarious. The guy is extremely iconic and a very important piece of gaming history, plus he represents his own franchise and has a unique moveset. The Ice Climbers are more likely to be cut than ROB.

People who think Lucas has a chance of being nixed are almost as funny, but in those cases I'll just assume they haven't played Mother 3.

Did you notice that Bowser isn't actually a part of CGI, so I assumed that they held back the full trailer of the battle where Little Mac were supposed to be the one that punched Mario into the corner.

I thought them just showing Bowser is odd all around. Why show a second Mario rep instead of, say, Chrom or Ness/Lucas or even a Mario rep that's branched off into it's own series like Yoshi or Wario? And then there's Wii Fit Trainer's reveal like directly after the Nintendo Direct. Why wouldn't they include her into the original trailer instead of making 2 separate trailers?

Which begs the question: If Little Mac was going to be shown, why wasn't he?

I didn't know what I was looking at either. I thought it was art of Masked Marth unmasked.

Same here :l

And ROB is a great unique character but he's one of the weird characters that you either love or hate to play as. He's too clunky, imo. I think he could still be in BUT if he's not, the WiiU can play Wii games so the ROB lovers can go play Brawl. hehehe

I forget to mention this long time ago, but I remembered it just now.

Wooow, that is a good catch. Maybe they decided to save Lil Mac for a later date. Those bastards.

It's so strange to me that they are using the City Folk world as a basis for the Animal Crossing representation in this instead of New Leaf. Very odd considering that New Leaf is insanely popular and the most current version of the series.

I still think the Balloon Fighter hat shown on the Animal Crossing Villager is actually an item, as opposed to being one of his moves.

Console games for the console version. Even the Villagers look is based off of the City Folk/Lets Go to the City cover.

I also think so. It would be nice to have a variety of game-inspired power ups like that. It has always been an half fulfilled idea, for example with the screw attack being an item, but I think it's better for this powers to be sticked to the player that pick them up.

This thing has great potential. I predict at least the Tanooki Leaf to be in the game, giving you racoon tail.

It's totally a Punch Out!! ring. If Little Mac isn't in the game (he is) at least we will get a PO!! stage with some sweet music.

I don't know. Makes too much sense for it to be his save move to me.

Why would anyone want to cut R.O.B.? He is so fun to meteor smash! Snake will be getting a rightful axe to the head, so R.O.B. can stay as my new main punching bag, he has earned it.

Nope. I think that, plus the Wrestling Glove is intended to be a replacement for certain NES characters :)

While that could be true, it's also quite possible it's a new item, being shown off... and I say that primarily due to the fact that there isn't anything in Animal Crossing it links to...

It could link to the balloons that come and go randomly with presents. Balloon Fight was also an NES title you could get in the GameCube version.

It's always been like that in Smash - they use the previous version rather than the current one unless it's been really old.

blows chunks

at least a couple of franchises have actually had multiple iterations between now and brawl so we'll at least see some representation if they're coming out

They said Wii U will have stages based on home consoles games and 3DS will have stages based on handheld consoles games.

I was just going for what they've been using anyway. Like how you don't have Galaxy in Brawl.

But they updated Samus to Other M...?

That's what I mean.

Surprised that they didn't use Prime Samus design for Brawl though.

Melee had up to date versions for its relese due to the short release circle. But, Brawl, and now likely this game seem to have design documents done right in the beginning, in spite of the long development time. That means that games releasing around the middle of Smash bros' development end up lacking representation.

I don't think they're specifically going for "skipping" old games, it's just that they aren't trying to be up to date after the development starts. New Leaf wasn't out at the time, so they didn't use it as a basis for the Villager due to not having the full game to test animations and various elements.

i thought it was King Dee Dee Dees boxing ring from kirby. it has to be
Sakurai wouldnt give away a character like that.

Dedede's ring has a picture of him plasted in the center and the crowd is usually made up of Kirby enemies.

This one's pulled straight from the Mr. Sandman fight in Punch-Out!! Wii.

You silly, you. Don't play silliness on me. You know it doesn't look anything like the Dedede ring, you silly Billy Bob Thornton! It's just so silly.

If it is the Punch-Out stage you better get a instant KO if you manage to connect a hit during the one frame a camera flash goes off. ;)
