Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Just now tried to buy Resistance on the cheap at GameStop because I wanted to try it out. I left my state ID at home because I always travel on public transit and not driving. They wouldn't sell it to me :( ugh, they said if I look under 40 they have to ask.

Some baby back bullshit right here.

maybe they did me a favor, lol

It won't be pretty if the 64GB card turns out to be $200. But if it's $100 it'll be an instabuy for me. (That's still 2x the price of a 64GB microSD though.)

I don't have a Vita yet, waiting on a good deal. Do they use their own special card? Sounds like it by this thread.. I was hoping you could just be cheapass 3rd party cards on Amazon.

Ever since the ps4 remote play stuff I've been thinking more and more about getting a Vita. There's already a few games I'm interested in, but mainly I want to be able to stream ps4 games locally to play when my wife has the TV.

It's not exactly expensive now, but is there a chance at a price cut in the nearish future? Oh lol I just looked it p on kijiji (basically Craigslist) and some kid wants to trade his in for a "decent" laptop. Good luck. :p

Yeah. And since they're roughly microSD sized, a third party adapter is impossible.

Yes. But it isn't worth waiting for, the price drop would be the basic model down to $200 and bundles with games have been that low, that Lego one. If you want it cheap, keep an eye on Cowboom or buy a lot on ebay.
Something to note: Colors. If you're tired of bog-standard black, the gorgeous white Vita was available in the US from an Assassin's Creed bundle, and available second hand. You can also import a red/blue Japanese unit from Japan for something like $200 converted plus shipping.

No price cut yet but there should be one this year. Though you don't have to wait, as it often goes on sale for $199.

check craigslist...daily

I did it for like half a year

I totally lucked out getting one. got it NIB for about 50 bucks. Also got a free coffee as we met in a starbucks

And now that you know it wasn’t hype,

Er-E3 was dismal. Indies aren't impressive (okay, okay, nerds: Hotline Miami is probably one of the better indie titles I've played and I'm enjoying it, compared to 99% of the indies I've tried which are pretty trash).

I'll believe the AAA announcements when I see them. And frankly, after his hyping about it and leading us to believe it was going to happen at E3, excuse me for being cynical about Gamescomm. I expect Sony to jump across this and just focus on the PS4 there with the global launch.

Is there a place that takes all of the events from 999 and lays it out in preperation for Zero Escape:VLR? I keep wanting to play the game, but I really don't feel like having to play 999 first. It feels like getting all the way to the true ending is going to be really repetitive because it doesn't have the features put into VLR that make it less of a slog.

I need that 64 GB.

Hopefully there's a massive repricing on memory cards.

8 GB/$20, 16 GB/$40. 32 GB/$60, 64 GB/$80 or something please Sony.

Ugh, they're going to charge like $120 aren't they?

I guess they know that they need to drop the price on the Vita and that includes the mandatory memory cards. Many people complain about the cards rather than the device itself.
Hopefully they will try to push Vita at Gamescom with a pricedrop and some announcements.

The 4gb is being phased out this year and a 64gb is being introduced. Not exactly sure of the timetable.
That's great to hear. I regret getting my 32gb early rather than waiting now, but ah well, I can always grab a 64gb down the line.

I really hope so, introducing a bigger memory card and scrapping the smallest model along with a pricedrop on them would help a bit.
But yeah, I'm not too confident it'll happen either.
Only saw that news today :(
What a shame, I was really looking forward to it. This is one of the reasons I want that account jumping method back on Vita, I'd like the ability to play games I wont be getting in my region on my main account.

I chalk this as something that Sony just won't do, to the point where I think people expecting them to price the new 64 GB card with "reasonable price" as a laughable concept.

A laughable concept that I am not happy at all laughing at, actually :\

After seeing last years black friday sale I refuse to buy a Vita for $250. loll I guess I'm going to be waiting until next black friday unless Amazon does an insane new or used deal. I'm stuck in Ohio atm so craigslist is dead.

Basically. I hold out no hope that they'll actually price them like I suggested, but I sure would like them to.

This is another freebie on Japanese PS+.
At first I confused it for Sudoku and had no idea how to play.

If anybody else is interested, you have to place beads on any side (4) of a block, as many as the number of the block. If it's a 2 block, you have to place beads on two of its sides.

The other rules are that you can't have two beads in the same row. Beads also turn any row they're in fully green (blocked by blocks), and every space on the board needs to be green, so you need to mix-and-match combinations until every numbered square has that many beads on its sides, every space is green, and no two beads are in the same row. Kind of fun!

Nice to know. I can't wait for it. Thanks for the info!

Yayy, it sucks for me cause I still have one but it means that games now have a 8GB minimum instead of a of 4GB one so bigger games with less compression and sacrifice can be made! Hey maybe that's a secret Gamescon announcement, X-X2 is now on one cart for Vita.

Maybe all those 200$ jokes for 64GB will come true now! Thanks for always giving us a feed Mortimer!

I am thinking this as well. Surprising no one else has commented on this. If the phasing out of the 4GB card also means games can be a max of 8GB now, then that is the biggest news. I always believed 4GB is just too low for some Vita games to really take advantage of what the system has to offer.

I would assume they would slot each card down a notch in price but I don't know that for sure.

I'm sure you're right, but that really isn't good enough if they want to help sell Vitas/memory cards.

People complain about card prices just as much as they complain about the price of the unit itself, if not more.

If they released a 128, I'd pay extortion rates for it.
But 64? All my content still won't fit.

No incentive for me to move from a 32gb card at this point.

Crap. I just realized that a 64GB card won't be enough to hold all my games. Right now my 32GB card is already full and the PS Vita folder in my PC (backups of games not on the card) is 53.7 GB. And that's not counting stuff on my download list that I haven't downloaded yet.

I'm sticking with my 16 GB even with a price cut. Honestly, I think it's good to cycle what games I have downloaded on my Vita. When FFX and X-2 hit, I'll just delete something.

this is what i'm doing now, and despite being out of room all the time, i might just cycle games still.

I have a 32GB, and I need to fill some space, anyone selling a digital code for LBP or Rayman Origins? If so PM me. If not, umm don't pm
