You guys seen Xian's AE tier list on Eventhubs?

Is it allowed in tournaments to map button combinations to a single button on either pad or stick? I'd always assumed that it wasn't.

The option to map focus attack to anything you wan't would be something I'm cool with.

Sorry, re-read what I typed to you. I wasn't attacking what you said.

I'd really just like them to let us map what we choose. Feels....out of date....that we can't.

Ono, if you read this, I'll buy 5 copies if you fix it.
I know he won't and I'll still be stuck :(

Yes, it is. I actually screwed up once when fighting Yipes in a 3vs3 AE tourney and mapped two buttons to medium kick and none to roundhouse because I was focused on getting the 3x buttons mapped.

You can. I don't think anybody gets upset about it especially in AE.

I think back in the days in MvC2 when Fanatiq was allowed to do it he had to lose 1 assist call.

he said "i gotta get ready for EVO" at the last NLBC as well.

It's not a surprise, not sure why they're keeping it secret.

I think it's more about EVO keeping it quiet. There was no final trailer at CEO, no news on how many streams and who are the streamers

Yeah, I'm agreeing. Focus attack for the two middle buttons has always been awkward for me when I transitioned from pad to stick

You're only going to succeed if you give up pad entirely, no matter how badly you start losing. "I could win this if I was on pad" is the thought that ruins you.

That said, as long as you aren't contorting your thumb to hit three face buttons at once independently of each other, then your thumb might not be in serious danger. If you've been experiencing actual indications of harm, though, then yes, stop immediately.

yeah, if I play enough Marvel (and this only happens with marvel because of all the inputs going on, I guess), I'll wake up with a clicking thumb the next day :(

I think I clench while I play and no matter how hard I've tried, I can't stop.

wait...people are assigning focus attacks to something else?

i just press the 2 middle buttons cause i heard somewhere you werent allowed to map multiple buttons to one key...

MK9 just got released today on PC. Then, Skullgirls and KOFXIII are soon to follow. AE2012 and SFxT will be on sale next week. Kiss your consoles goodbye, kids. :D

Now if they chased this with an Injustice port before Mortal Kombat 10 comes out in a couple years, that'd be great!

Hah.

No offense intended, but the demographic of fighting game players doesn't generally trend towards PC use.

Not yet, good sir. But even fighting game developers are starting to see the light of the Best Platform around. eSports already know what's up, and even our top players like AGE Chirs G have stated that the PS3 (which so happens to be a current console) is bad for the most popular game around: Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
I'm just in it for the mods :P

BTW, you going to EVO this year, Biz?

GAF has already started the transition

Don't get me wrong, PC uber alles! I'd prefer that the PC takes over as the primary gaming platform. It's just that from what I've seen and the locals I've hosted, the average income is a lot lower than I'd expect to be able to support PC gaming.

That being said, I saw Kadey running some SF on PC and got the urge to re-install Super SF on PC and join in (couldn't find my USB cable to do it for my controller, alas), I just don't see it becoming the primary vehicle to play the games.

Naw, not going to EVO this year. Work has been killer. Maybe next year. Last year was fun.

PC games don't typically support controller hotplugging.

Do it arcade cab style: just plug in two stock sticks with sanwa parts or something and leave them on for the rest of the session. Kids are too spoiled these days, I tell ya. "I WANT MAH STICK WITH THE PRETTY LEDS AND MY WAIFU AS AN ARTWORK". Fuck that, back in my day, you won local SF2 tourneys with broken ass sticks and sticky as hell buttons. /flex #swag

It'll be a while (if ever) until consoles change as the main choice for TOs and that's fine. I'm just a bit happy that fighting games are making a splash on PC nowadays. :P

Got some of that playing Divekick at CEO. The 2P Kick button on the arcade cab was sticky. Made me sad.

Those buttons did take a little more force than I expected to trigger.

I wonder if I played (bodied) you at Divekick. I was frequenting that cabinet all throughout CEO. ;)

Xian to Moonz after getting opened up by a slow walk into an instant overhead with Nova:

"Come on man that's the SF tech, slow walk up... this is Mahvel play fast!"

Xian got hit by jamming bomb the first time last night. It was funny because he looked at his stick immediately as he couldn't block or wavedash correctly and had a really confused look on him.

I love this pre-EVO hype, everybody starts to forget about dramas and just talk about games, about who are the favorites and shit, fun times
