Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

My number one wanted feature is NFC figurines of all the playable characters. Not only would official figurines be tubular as fuck, but they could store your customizations for easy transfers when you go to a friend's house or a tournament, etc.

I dunno how that would work since he's technically Level-5's property (as far as I know), but I would love to see Layton in Smash!

Yeah, he appears exclusively on Nintendo handhelds so I imagine Nintendo would have a bit more le-way if they enquired about smash.

There is a Micheal Jackson joke in there somewhere.

It's hard not to trip over a Michael Jackson joke and fall in a pile of Michael Jackson jokes.

All of the character profiles on both the US & JP Smash sites have been shuffled around leaving a space roughly the size of a Newcomer profile in the bottom right corner.

Maybe we're getting another newcomer reveal soon??? :D

You are right but don't play with my heart like that

The character profiles are arranged according to your browser's window size.

If Brawl's cast is untouched, for the most part, I'm excited that Ike, my second main, will still be in the game :D
Of course I'm hoping they add a rep from Awakening.

I would be surprised if they haven't added a rep from Awakening.

-Latest game in the franchise
-FE:A is the best selling FE title in Japan if not the 2nd. Sold pretty well in the west too
-There's apparently a FE:A stage in the 3DS version

I hope that the Wii U version won't have all of their stages based on console titles. It would be disappointing not being able to play Kid Icarus Uprising or Pokemon Black/White/X/Y stages in HD. That the plus possibility of changing characters like Ice Climbers or Olimar to work on the 3DS are my only concerns with making an accompanying handheld version.

I just read that interview..
So.. Braw'l's full roster is confirmed for now?
I don't know why but reading Ice Climbers and 3DS together put a smile on my face

Figured they probably would be. The only characters I could realistically see getting cut were Snake and Ike, and even then the chances of that happening were slim.

I think Sakurai used the term "more" when describing the split of stages. They wouldn't be exclusively 3DS/Portable and Wii U/ Home console, but rather have biases leaning in those directions. It will probably be most pronounced on franchised with strong representation across both platforms, such as Spirit Tracks in 3DS and Skyward Sword on Wii U, or 3D Land in 3DS and Galaxy stages on Wii U. Franchises with playable characters should get stages across both systems, even if they are primarily/exclusively one platform franchises.

Oh yea. Sorry IntelliHeath, totally forgot to explain to you what MK7 communities are.

It is pretty much a group that people can join and can play with each other without the requirement of being actually on each others friends list. In MK7, it's limited in the sense that there is only one thing you can do in it (example: you can only race or battle in a community, you can't change it or do something else, so you would have to make a separate community for Battle mode and Racing mode). It has a leaderboard that shows the top 4 or 5 in that community.

I hope Smash can implement something like this but far more expanded.

I'd personally like to see Ridley playable as well, and it's not even his overall size that's really the problem. It's his long limbs and tail that would make it difficult. Heavy characters like Bowser, Charizard, DK, and King Dedede have short, stubby legs that allow them to retain their large size without standing too tall. On the other hand, Ridley has both very long legs and very long arms, held together by a very skinny body. The difficulties in making him work well are certainly understandable.

I'm sure this has been said, but I'm really surprised at how awful this looks graphically, considering Melee and Brawl looked so solid for their respective hardware.

I actually thought that while Melee was really good looking when it came out, Brawl was a bit ugly. The art style was inferior and jaggies seemed MUCH more apparent.

SSB4, on the other hand, looks like a work of art in motion. I'll admit that it looks clean but otherwise plain in stills, but that is hardly what matters here.

I think it's more the wingspan/tail. When moving on the ground, he can keep a low profile like he does sometimes in the Prime games, but his wingspan and tail are both pretty freaking intimidating from the standpoint of trying to scale them down to a playable state while making sure the character still feels like Ridley.

Is it? Background looks like an arena with a crowd. I don't remember an arena in Awakening (unless it was a DLC chapter). The structures in the back do look like Fire Emblem though. You're probably right.

His side B, maybe?

His side-B is a grab, though. Unless you are talking about that bounce he does after he slams his opponent into the ground, which could be possible.

It is also possible that they replaced Bowser's n-air with a sexkick, since he's supposedly more agile in this game.

Yeah, that's my best guess. If that's a sexkick, it's a pretty damn awkward-looking one.

I really don't see why people are that big on Ridley getting in....

Why all that effort retooling a character who's already bigger than Samus who herself is one of the tallest characters in the game (Her head nearly touches the bottom of the platforms in Battlefield -_-) when the other hunters are all just sitting there with viable movesets....

Im not buying that too obscure to use idea either.

Fire Emblem
Earthbound
Kid Icarus

All 3 of those series were not exactly household names when they received characters, granted those are entire series vs individual characters in a series but point stands being obscure should not be a reason to not include characters that are much better suited for SSB rather than shoehorning one that clearly isn't and has already been established as a Boss character.

Also Bowser vs Mario is different to this, Mario's height compared to Samus is what allows Bowser to work. Bowser can still be clearly taller than Mario without coming into contact with platforms. Ridley's height is already handicapped by how tall Samus already is in relation to stage platform height. From the looks of it in the trailer that still is the same.

They can always just make Ridley crouch over like how bowser did in past games and keep his wings mostly folded in.

I think Ridley's size problem has less to do with his size and more with his junk.

His wings and tail take up a very large space when properly scaled, if that can be fixed or reduced it should make him relatively viable.

Marth is still the king. Awakening hasn't passed Fire Emblem III in Japan.

They managed with Charizard, right? I can't imagine it being too terribly different.

Yeah, that's what I remember hearing. Just wasn't too sure which game it was lol

When it comes to Fire Emblem it is always safe to bet it all on Marth.

Oh god I want the sword Pokemon as a Pokeball Pokemon pleeeeeeeeeeeease

SAKURAIIIIIIIIII

Officially, Charizard is as tall as an adolescent. Actually, they managed to get Pokemon height right for PT's mons.
