Don't be certain. I expect them to push Pokemon heavy as always and although the game will sell amazingly without this XL it'll help. They released the Pikachu XL and the ACNL XL too.

The only major concern if any is if we'll get both since how will the games be packed with them? And how limited will it be?

I think, from what I infer from the source in the OP, that both X and Y will be preinstalled on the blue XL. It's the only option that makes sense if they aren't putting out separate X and Y XLs. It will probably have the same availability as other limited XLs, maybe more given how much it would probably sell.

The gold will be super limited in Japan if it's Pokemon Center exclusive. But the Pikachu XL was Pokemon Center exclusive too and that got a wide release in EU and NA... so who knows how much if that comes over or not.

Watch them charge £30 more because both X and Y are built in? Its the DK64 forced expansion pak all over again (NOE only released it with).

I think I would actually find a way to pay the insane price it would take to get some one to get me one of the gold ones, but oh yeah Nintendo region locks the hell out of their systems.
It really is amazing though.

But the shells are not region locked (IGN have an article where they made a white American 3DS XL). It is still a bit too much effort and you'll lose the warranty though and if you ever send it into Nintendo you'll get a generic colour back (so swap the case back).

All X & Y games around the world will have all languages on them in order to play it

No sign of a release of these 3DS LLs outside of Japan. We'll likely see soon if they are to be, though
