Getting better at fighting games just means you need to play people more and have something click.I wish I had the drive to get better in fighting games. I half ass everything I do in games, and in life, and just accept my average ass gameplay.
Come on BB come out already. Maybe I should mess around with GG this weekend.

Epic theory fighter discussion going on FGTV about the psychology of up backing in Marvel.
God damm FGTV for making me sleep late all week.
I find myself guilty of this, to a certain extent.I wish I had the drive to get better in fighting games. I half ass everything I do in games, and in life, and just accept my average ass gameplay.
Anyways, are you guys going to import BBCP?
As a european there's no real sense for me to wait, but the thought of getting once again stuck in a sea of zero-bar matches is a bit disheartening...
Still needs to hit the early twenties in character numbers before more minions see the light.SkullGirls is a better marvel game than marvel
Because it has some of GG's feel to the gameplay
Non-Capcom games need a slow burn of hype at the very least. It is a good thing that the characters are spread out. It keeps the online scene at some minimum level of activity to boot.True and I'm fine with that for marvel, though these days I always feel like I'm getting on the verge of being sick of watching it (not even 5% done with playing it, on the other hand.) Then something hype happens and I'm right back in there.
It'll be cool if SG gets a competitive revival. Too bad they can't just churn out 4 characters quickly and release them all at once. I think more characters would give it a good shot in the arm.
No one is gonna care about macros in AE next gen when SFV is out.Skullgirls won't die- the PC port will make sure of that. AE wil live as well if the PC port gets the update, and GFWL isn't shut down.
Got a feeling PC is going to end up important for fighters next-gen, provided there's a way to keep macros out (not really a problem for SG though due to how it's designed- AE has a huge problem)
I call it the Tekken effect. Fanboys love to talk up how deep and intricate their games are despite how offputting it sounds to everyone else. It has torpedoed many a fighter's chances at obtaining a larger audience.GG is an amazing game because it's super easy to get into at low levels, it's fast as fuck, has awesome music, and the game just gets deeper and deeper the more you play it.
Anyone that says GG is harder to get into than BB is most likely a stupid fanboy. It's seriously one of the strongest things about the game is how easy it is to pick up and play if you have any sense of fighting game basics. Fuck I would say P4A is harder to get into than GG
I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.It is.
Don't listen to hype unless it is coming from pragmatic gaffers.I swear people said the same thing about P4A before release and that was like the worst $40 I ever spent on video games.
The friends I played with bitched up a storm if I mistakenly used an assist in Mahvel. God, I hated playing that way for the longest. Online was a Godsend compared to that nonsense.Yeah, I'm really liking the look of BBCP. Time to pick Valkenhayn up again, maybe this time people won't be mad at me for doing so!
My scene is the embodiment of capcom's rabid fanbase. Seriously, they use "too 3d" and "too 2d" in a serious tone and don't like to have fun. Use Dan? You're barred from any local for a month.
This is kind of why I'm clinging onto a game's online community; it's better than being here.
The thing I like about Skullgirls GGPO is how you don't have to worry about constant connection problems. I've heard many horror stories of folks trying to connect in VSav lobbies and not getting anything. A million things can go wrong on the PC program. SG and the other console GGPO games hardly give me those problems. My roommate was getting constant BBCSEX online matches today on his PS3, so that game seems to have some (online) life in it.
The best online experience with a fighter I ever had was 3S on GGPO on PC. If the connection was good I could play the ~real game~ and not some half-assed version of it where a bunch of strats that should work don't and a bunch of things that shouldn't work do.
Skullgirls on 360 came close. Hopefully Yatagarasu reaches that level of playability if it reaches its goal.
I love how they just don't sleep. I just woke up at 4AM for no reason (maybe it's the grout sealer fumes in my apt) and figured I may as well make some coffee and watch FGTV. haha
Last year's pre evo FGTV stream was freaking addicting too. They had Yipes, MarlinPie, Dieminion,Zak Bennet and hella japanese marvel players with Kazunoko.
Wow no wonder it takes a long time to sync up but considering we're 5000km apart it's a miracle we can play solid BB matches.
OK! Got the 12th of July off at work, 100% hyped and free to watch EVO all weekend long
I have a grad school exam on Saturday morningOK! Got the 12th of July off at work, 100% hyped and free to watch EVO all weekend long
I have a grad school exam on Saturday morning
Will be studying all Friday too so it means I won't be able to watch much then either.![]()

Yep, I just turned it on. Champ just lost a set to Xian and now he's talking about how he's survived on just energy drinks instead of food or sleep for the last few days.
Took the 15th off, because from here it starts at something like 6pm and ends at ~6am. Or even 7 or 8 when they start getting late for the finals.OK! Got the 12th of July off at work, 100% hyped and free to watch EVO all weekend long
RIP FilipinoChamp.Yep, I just turned it on. Champ just lost a set to Xian and now he's talking about how he's survived on just energy drinks instead of food or sleep for the last few days.
I'm glad more and more fighting games are getting a PC release. Makes it easier to ditch the current consoles for next gen. Hopefully MK does well for an Injustice PC release. Hopefully the rumoured KoF XIII gets released.
Just need Tekken, VF, DOA and Arcs games to follow suit.
RIP FilipinoChamp.
But seriously, I would die if I did that. Go to bed, Champ.
Talking about EVO, do we have any info about the panels? I believe Capcom will announce something about SFIV on their panel, last years were on Friday afternoon right?
I do remember staying up until 5 am and sleeping in until 3 pm playing Counterstrike back in my college days but I just can't imagine doing that anymore. I do way worse wIthout good sleep than I used to.
You get used to it. I've been running on about 5 hours sleep or less a day for about a 16 years or so now, with only occasional days of 8 hours or greater.
Wow, Champ is still up at 9 am and playing some stupid point Phoenix team against Xian.
Forget ditching current gen for next gen, if one good 3D fighter (Tekken, VF, SC, heck maybe even DOA) released their next new release on the PC I'd probably hold off on next gen until it's budget priced years from now. Chances are higher than ever that this might happen as well, PS4 and XBOne and closer than ever to PCs architecturally, so ports will be easier than ever.
The end of this gen is just making my salty towards consoles in general. PC releases are playable on future hardware (unlimited BC basically), they support the most flexible input options (so no arcade stick lockouts like XBOne and PS4) and without having to pay for online play you'll still be able to play multiplayer games years from now without having to rely on company X having the servers up still.
I don't get used to sleep deprivation, and it gets worse as I get older.

I don't feel a difference with the altitude, really. All of our bath products were about to explode from the change in pressure, though.I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.
That altitude sickness getting to you?

Our ages are the same, but we don't have the same body. I remember when I quit caffeine for a year thinking I would eventually start feeling more alert without it. That never happened.
