I don't think I understand the question. Lego City sold well for when it released, as did Monster Hunter. Those are the only other "big" exclusives. Sonic Racing sold best on Wii U over any other version. I'm not saying the Wii U has a great ecosystem at all. I'm just saying that ZombiU needed to be more than a character-less tech demo.
I actually do find it shocking, esp when according to NPD data, this is one of the biggest 3rd party sellers for Wii U (at least as of a few months back according to Cream or other gaffers with knowledge)

At this point. I feel sorry for Sega and their up and coming exclusive games on WiiU. I hope they can afford it.

Wow, I'm not very fond of the game but that's really fucking harsh. Considering they didn't even try porting the game to get some extra profits, it must've been really, really bad.
Reggie Fils-Aime made a statement in an interview where he said the Wii U was profitable with the sale of one game (assuming they meant NSMBU). I'm assuming that some R&D costs built into making a console like the Wii U spill over into making games like Nintendo Land and NSMBU.

The game was great. Put a sequel out on consoles that people actually own and you might be pleasantly surprised.
I pretty much assumed a while ago the sequels for Zombi U and Lego City would be multiplat.

You're being sarcastic, but it's true. The Last of Us took ZombiU's "enemies can attack you while you're rummaging through your backpack" thing and it doesn't work half as well. It really is a great use of the gamepad.

So, I wonder if they will try to make the money up by porting the game to other consoles with a new name or something.
It could totally work, but since the game is designed around the tension of having to manage two different screens, removing one of them would make it a bit duller.

The game looked gre4at but this isn't really suprising. Their isn't the install base to really make games profitable unless the entire Wii U community buy the game. Even then it might not be profitable.
It's a shame that he isn't interested in making a sequel because if it was on multiple platforms I think it could do really well

Sega was profitable with Sonic Racing I believe. I have no doubt in my mind that Sonic The Lost World will do just fine as will any other Sonic title.
I think it is around 450k Word Wide..

Ugh.. these are one if the reasons why I have a love hate relationship with Ubisoft. One minute, they defend the crap out of a system, the next day, they talk hella crap. Why? Just super why? Seriously.
On the other hand, Nintendo needs to grow up. I'll say this... I'm tired of Nintendo fans always defending Nintendo bad business choices. Sure, they have been the most innovative out the two but innovation is nothing when the output becomes useless. Everyone could go on talking about how everyone copies Nintendo but in some ways, regardless of copying, they always do so well without it.. I'm tired of the Nintendoom articles but come on... this is tiresome to hear the same issues all the time with every Nintendo system.

I just got it last week, it's extremely rough around the edges but the game really nails atmosphere and the sense of dread. You just want to hide in the little room rather than go out for supplies.
Why would they jump ship based on the Wii U? The main games are on the 3DS, which is successful, especially in Japan.
Those Sonic games tend to appeal to the nintendo audience.

Think about it...the Wii U launch is approaching...Nintendo wants exclusive content...but they don't have enough studios.
So what do they do? They approach Ubisoft with the potential of launching a new "Hardcore" IP on the Wii U to satiate gamers.
Nintendo supports the marketing efforts, helps out with distribution, waives all licensing costs and gives Ubisoft a bit of money for development.
In return, ZombiU stays exclusive to the Wii U for X amount of time (perhaps indefinitely).

They should port it to Xbox 360/One and PS3/4 (or either next or current gen). I'd be interested in playing it, even if they have to make a few adjustments, I have no desire for a WiiU.

Most U.S gaming websites/mags wrongly trashed the game, 6/10-ed it. I wouldn't expect it to do well given that stink.

Because it was a multiplatform game. I seriously doubt they would have broke even if it was a WiiU exclusive.
On Metacritic, there are 44 reviews that gave it a score higher than 80. I just picked 5 random ones.
It should be noted that its Metacritic score is 77, which isn't terrible.
So, no, those aren't all the good reviews. It didn't fail because of reviews (although I acknowledge it also had some fairly low reviews, so I doubt they helped).
so I guess the situation hasn't improved much if at all from those online numbers we got from first few months. Several hundreds and alike...
Nintendo shouldn't be sitting on WiiU for long. Try with a new hardware in two years or something, seems clear this one isn't going to be revived, they can't put out an entire year worth of software by themselves without any 3rd party support.

Yeah ZombiU is the first game that ever doesn't pause while you do things in game. It's almost as if there's a demon inside ZombiU that takes your soul.
What a completely pointless comparison. ZombiU was a good effort by Ubisoft, a new IP launching with a new platform. It didn't sell because the WiiU isn't selling.
Considering what someone else posted in this thread earlier, this seems to be a gross exaggeration.

Bought it with my Wii U, the game sold something like 500k, I wouldn't think that was "not even close" to being profitable. The development must have been a mess since this is not even close to being a triple A title.

Past that, its rushed development time probably prevented the game from featuring stuff like developed characters, cinematics, etc. It is a lean game designed to work around its limitations, such as using PA systems to communicate with unseen "preppers". But not the kind of thing to make hoards of people rush out to buy it and an entire system just for it.
Online play on Wii U can be comparable to PS360. Black Ops II is fully featured and does not suffer anything. Right now, Wii U is closer to PS3 with its lack of universal cross-game voice chat, though it is more expandable in terms of OS than PS3, so that may be addressed.
The bigger problem with Wii U and online may be a chicken-and-egg scenario. Nintendo doesn't have an online ecosystem by PS3 and 360 standards, and kickstarting one from scratch is difficult.

I was talking solely in regards to the Wii U version. I don't remember actual sale numbers but they were happy with it's performance. Sonic generally tends to do well on Nintendo consoles so I don't think they have much to worry about.
