Remembering Ryan Davis, 1979 - 2013

Oh man, this is terrible. I feel bad for everyone that was close to him. If I feel this terrible, I can only imagine how those who were near him felt. Honestly, words can't express how I'm feeling right now. Terrible, terrible news.

Fuck Ryan Davis....man that used to be funny, now it just makes me sad. I hope his death was painless and he didn't suffer. Condolences to the rest of the Giant Bomb crew.

Just horrible. Tragically just remembered that on the last bombcast he was on he said "on the next bombcast you hear me I'll be a married man" Deepest condolences go out to his family, friends and especially his wife.

Wow, this is just awful. My heart and thoughts go out to his wife, family, friends and the Giantbomb guys.

Such a young age, same age as me.

ugh fucking horrible

his poor wife
(husband? I have no idea - just know he got married very recently)

RIP

I wonder if there was a serious accident on the 3rd on his honeymoon and he wasn't officially deceased until the weekend and the GB crew just found out?

I spent some time with Ryan, and I loved the guy. It's really shocking to hear about this.... I wouldn't even dare to imagine how Anna must be feeling right now...

Beyond tragic, I'm so sorry for everyone affected by this. I am cutting up and disposing of my "Fuck Ryan Davis" shirt as we speak.

Tragic news. I didn't know him personally, but during the E3 Giant Bomb stream Ryan definitely came across as a funny, genuinely cool guy to hang out with. Condolences to friends and family.

What the fuck? What the fucking fuck? May he Rest in Peace. Damn this must be devastating for his family and friends. He just got married, what the hell.

Giant Bomb has suffered a profound loss.

Ryan Davis passed away on July 3rd. He was 34.

Obviously we’re all stunned over here. Ryan was a good friend to all of us. It’s odd to remember that, for someone who could be so acerbic at times, and despite knowing him for almost a decade, I honestly don’t recall ever actually being mad at him. He had an unconventional type of kindness that expressed itself more strongly the longer one knew him, and despite his teasing nature, he always managed to make his close friends feel loved when his attention turned towards you.

Many of you know that Ryan was recently married. In the face of this awfulness, many of us will at least always remember him as we last saw him: outrageously, uproariously happy, looking forward to his next adventure with the biggest grin his face could hold.

The consolation we can feel from that is miniscule compared to the hole that Ryan’s absence will leave in our lives. That’s not a hole that is possible to fill; it’s just something that we’ll just have to get used to walking around with, and that will not happen for a long, long time.
For who can not load GB

What the hell is wrong with you?

He may have said it slightly insensitively, but he's not wrong, assuming this is the cause of death. Obesity is a huge issue, and if this news causes just one fan to lose weight and lead a healthy lifestyle then his death won't be in vain. It's not like he said he deserved it. Could it have been stated a little more softly? Sure. But he's not wrong.

That is absolutely crushing I didn't know the guy personally but I have great affection for the giantbomb cast. My heart goes out to his wife and family. Any word on how?

I can't believe i'm reading this. RIP and heartfelt thoughts towards his family and the rest of the giantbomb crew.

The only person I know who could get me excited hearing that it's Tuesday.

Man the guy just got married I mean WTF?
