Remembering Ryan Davis, 1979 - 2013

He may have said it slightly insensitively, but he's not wrong, assuming this is the cause of death. Obesity is a huge issue, and if this news causes just one fan to lose weight and lead a healthy lifestyle then his death won't be in vain. It's not like he said he deserved it. Could it have been stated a little more softly? Sure. But he's not wrong.

This isn't the place for this right now.

If there is a collection to some sort of remembrance monument or gesture I'm down.

I'm sure the GB community are on it.

Words cannot describe how much of an affect Ryan has had on my life by just watching him and the giantbomb crew run amok every week.

Looking through his twitter feed is kind of surreal. He had quite a few tweets go out on the 3rd.

I want to respect the family's privacy, but when it's someone so young, it's hard not to ask "What happened?"

Extremely disheartening. Deepest condolences to his Family, wife, friends, and the community he has shaped underneath his wings.

GiantBomb, nay, the gaming community in general will never be the same without him.

There were posts on twitter he made a while back of him in the Hospital, my expectations are that this death, while sudden, may not have entirely been a surprise.

Wow. Shocking news. Condolences to his family and friends.

I feel like I'm about to cry. I never knew him personally but I've listened to him talk almost every week for the last 6 years. He'll be greatly missed.

I can't even believe this, was just listening to him on the Bombcast on my way to work. Great dude that will be sorely missed. Jesus Christ...

RIP

Horrible news, and his enthusiasm for games will be sorely missed. I didn't listen every week, but there were many a road trip filled with him running the bombast that I truly enjoyed.

The site won't be the same without him.

RIP

I'm speechless. And really really sad.

Goddamn. He made me laugh out loud so many times!

My deepest wishes of strength to his colleagues, friends and family.

How did he die?

Its crazy how much of a surprise and how bad this sucks. I have listened to the podcast for over 5 years - never thought much about it and seeing this stuff on my twitter has hit me harder than losing people I knew. Always enjoyed Ryan and its amazing how much of an impact this has had on me this morning. Still don't believe it.

They probably knew right away, but decided to wait to deliver the message once everyone knew and they were ready to go public.

I doubt that. They've all been tweeting normal the past few days. Jeff was posting nonsense 2 hours ago. They wouldn't do that if they knew one of their best friends had passed away

They even did a live stream the day (or day after?) He died

My condolences to his wife, friends and family.

And just after his marriage, how so very tragic.

No one should have to go out like that.

Strength to all those that were close to Ryan.

RIP

This is just surreal. The last thing I remember is seeing the pics from his wedding and the Tested guys talking about it just last week and now this.

Condolences to everyone involved.

Still can't believe it.

I recall seeing wedding pics on twitter, like a couple weeks ago.

It's just tragic.

Wow. Heartbreaking. He's always been great, through Gamespot, "Arrow Pointing Down", and GB. Great on the podcast, streams, and in general. The GB guys are so great and their style draws you in to really feel a personal attachment to them. I'll will certainly miss his voice in gaming.

My deepest sympathies to his new wife, family, friends and the GB crew. To happen so soon after such a happy experience in his life :'(

This is just too creepy. Posted on the day he died:
