Remembering Ryan Davis, 1979 - 2013

Oh my god, no.

I will watch Babysitting Mama video in his honour. It's one of those videos that makes me laugh every goddamn time.

Rest in Peace, Ryan. ):

See people, this is why you should exercise. Americas huge fucking problem. I'm not saying obesity caused this but damn. He was such an awesome guy. RIP.
And I see anti-fat GAF hasn't failed to appear. Save this bullshit for another time, please?

I can't even comprehend this right now.

Oh my God. I'm seriously completely shocked. My thoughts and condolences go out to his friends and family. Rest in Peace, Ryan, I thought you were great.

What a terrible loss. I can't even... I'm... shit.

I'm still kind of in shock. I thought the mass 1UP firings in 2009 would be the most shocking gaming news to me, but the death of a person I've listened to for years is infinitely worse than that.

R.I.P, Ryan.

I've watched Ryan ever since he was on Gamespot. Well, he was one of the reasons I watched the Gamespot video reviews. He was awesome on the podcast and seemed like a really awesome guy. This is terrible news.

I literally have no words that can express how sad i am....he was a great man and i know how much ill miss him and i never knew him in real life. My thoughts are with his friends and family, especially his wife who just married him last weekend.

This is just too creepy. Posted on the day he died:

Oh man.

I was watching I Love Mondays last week and it was so weird not to have Ryan there. He is such a character, feels strange to say I will genuinely miss a man I have never met but there you go.

RIP Ryan.

What was he talking about there?

Just started listening to their podcasts and even in that little bit of time the guy seemed really nice and cool. This depresses me. Feel terrible for his wife as well.

Very sad, he really was one of the best and most entertaining video game journalists (not to many people qualify as that anymore) I've ever read or watched.

Wow.................... RIP :(

I was literally on the website watching an old quick look from last year with him in it while I ate lunch when my friend IM'd me a link to the news. Creepy coincidence.

This is an awful, tragic loss. I listen to the Bombcast on a regular basis because of the wonderful personalities involved and Ryan Davis was a huge part of what gives the show, and the entire Giant Bomb website, such charm and energy. While I'll continue to enjoy the good work of the Giant Bomb crew I know it won't be the same without Ryan around. My sincere condolences to his friends, his family, and everyone at Giant Bomb.

I just started listening to the Giant Bombcast last week (loved it so much that I made it through several past episodes), and I could tell right away that he was an awesome guy.

Absolutely tragic news.

Despite not knowing him outside of the work he did on Giant Bomb/Gamespot, I still feel like I've lost a friend today.

This speaks volumes of his impact on gaming and the community around it. He will be missed and, hopefully, celebrated for his work in the space.

Yep, same here.

No no no no no... I'm gutted. Been a fan of Ryan since his Gamespot days. One of the most consistently likable personalities in the business. I can't believe it. RIP.

This is just horrible news, my day is just ruined. RIP Mr. Davis, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family/friends and his wife.

I hate to ponder the reason for his passing, but I do question it as on July 2nd I saw this posted on his twitter and quickly deleted.

Woah. Lortab addictions are fucked up and can lead to death.

Holy shit, the guy just got married, this is just awful. I can't believe it. Deepest condolences to his family and friends.

If there is a collection to some sort of remembrance monument or gesture I'm down.

I'm sure the GB community are on it.

sign me in

gaming is an important part of my life

and Ryan Davis work in the Giantbomb site (podcasts, QLs, etc) was tremendous in builiding that ecosystem for me

Very, very sad. How did he die, anyone know? Man that's just too young of an age to pass away at.

:(((((((((((((((

I seriously can't believe this. He just got married. I can only imagine what his wife is going through right now. My thoughts go out to his family and the Giantbomb crew.

Holy shit. Terrible news... thoughts and prayers go out to the GB crew, his family and friends.

I'm legit sad here ... :(.

RIP.

Oh man, fuck.

Too tragic for words. RIP, and deepest, deepest condolences to his colleagues, friends, family and particularly his wife.

Oh god, this isn't right. :(

In the eight years I've been following Gamespot and then Giant Bomb, Ryan Davis became a constant element of my life. Every Tuesday, I'd hear Ryan Davis talk. Every day he'd say something dumb on Twitter. Having all that end so suddenly and so horribly feels like something has just been ripped out of my life.

If he could make such an impact on a total stranger, I cannot imagine how the people close to him must feel.

Every week is going to be a little bit sadder for me now.
