Remembering Ryan Davis, 1979 - 2013

I want to thank Ryan for everything he's helped to give the gaming space and helping me get through my shitty times and things in my life by making me smile letting me know it's Tuesday. You gained much love and made me laugh for days quoting waka flaka, and during last Jeff's mixlr stream you answered a few of my questions and responses.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I hope your smiling in the clouds at all the love your getting today. I hope the GB crew are doing alright especially Jeff. You guys seem like the best of friends and a blow like this along with Jeff's personal stuff with his dad and what not makes me want to give that dude a hug.

Literally dropped my phone when I opened the link from Jeff's twitter and saw "Ryan Davis 1979-2013". This is just too much to comprehend.

I love you too Ryan!

All death is bad and sad, but this one is somehow worse, he just got married as everyone knows, i remember listening to him plan for his weeding, i remember him talking about future consoles and just..his future, as if it was given and now its all over. The entire weeding that his personal friends attended just days/weeks before died...i would not know how to deal with that if i was them... this great day solely dedicated to Ryan and his future wife, and now its..over.

Its like the best day to the worst day in such a short span, its almost not real

Its too cruel

How did the "Fuck Ryan Davis" t-shirts come about?

I don't remember the exact podcast or the exact context, but they got off-topic about China not caring about ripping things off, so Ryan started exclaiming "China Don't Care!" When their annual Big Live Live show came around shortly thereafter, he created a limited edition "China Don't Care" t-shirt to sell. Jeff thought it would be funny to include a "Fuck Ryan Davis" shirt in response.

Excuse me, but I don't appreciate these false accusations against my character and behavior. I'm not acting "better" than anyone because I admittedly didn't know the guy. I explicitly stated that it's a real, sad tragedy for many people who knew him or were close to him.

Again, I know full-well this thread isn't the place for arguments, but I feel I need to defend myself when people are unfairly attacking and mischaracterizing me.

Review your posts again. I'm done talking with you about it.

I just realized that when I was watching the Super Luigi U Quicklook this weekend that Ryan had already passed on. God this sucks so much.

Wow... when I saw the thread title I thought I somehow misread it or that it was some kind of joke.

I can't believe it and how it's affecting me considering I don't even know him just from listening to him on the podcast, so awful. My condolences to those who knew him and his family, his widowed wife... :(

Rest in Peace.

Ryan will always be remember by me as the "Kick 'em in the dick" guy.

It's never good news to hear of someone dying, but a newly married man in his mid 30's? That's beyond fuck'd, way too young. My deepest condolences to his friends and family. His disappearance will be sorely felt by many.

Thoughts and prayers to the Giantbomb crew and to all of Ryan's family and friends. Even though I never met him, I feel like I know him.

I wouldn't blame them if they canceled. I would like a podcast that remembers Ryan tho. Not sure if they can do it.

They should honestly just take the week off from the podcast/video content. I can't imagine listening to them in their current state of mind.

Fucking awful news for everyone to find out. As tragic as this whole affair is, I feel like we can all take a little bit of solace in knowing that he passed away during the happiest time of his life and with potentially no suffering. News bummed me out enough to want to pour my first ever cognac out to the guy. Rest in peace Ryan.

Deepest condolences to everyone who knew him dearly.

This is surreal, I've never met the guy but have been listening to the Bombcast for years and am crushed by this. RIP Ryan, you will be missed

I've never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, or communicating with him directly at all, but Ryan Davis is a dude that made my life a little better...

Thanks for entertaining me, man. Laughed my ass off listening to you and your buddies shoot the bull about videogames and whatever else you had going on at the time. I will sure as hell miss hearing your voice on the Bombcasts.

My favorite peeps are the ones who are very passionate about what they do. Ryan Davis was one of the best.

Tip o' the hat...thank you kindly, good sir.

If they don't do a podcast tomorrow (which is totally understandable) will it be the first bombcast they've ever missed?

I think it will be.

Was thinking about this 30 seconds ago. I think they've mentioned in more than once about never missing a TUUUUEESday.

Fuck, just the word Tuesday, will never be the same.
