Remembering Ryan Davis, 1979 - 2013

I definitely think putting him in Saints Row IV would be a fitting tribute to a great guy.

RIP Ryan, my thoughts to his family and the entire GB crew :(

i saw the memorial thread before i saw this one.

i was like wait what? memorial? why? then i went back and i saw this thread :(

My childhood has just died a little bit today from knowing that amazing energy and passion in gaming will now have more empty space and I will always be forever thankful for being introduced to such an amazing guy that I have never met but has inspired me to do so much more when I first got introduced to him and his friends in the game spot days when I was just a mere young teenager. Ryan Davis, you beautiful and kind caring man... I will miss you :(

Yeah, I'm kinda shocked they're there too. Gosh, it must be so sad over there. :(

My best friend (Who I also worked with) died a few years ago in a motorcycle accident. I found out the morning I was away on holiday. It made for a weird experience being away from it all.

Being at work afterwards was cathartic in a way. You're surrounded with the people who knew in in the place you did your thing. You have chats about them, remembrances. It helps you work through it in away.

Years later, the grief doesn't really go away. It does stick with you, but so does their memory. Remembrance does turn from bitter at the loss to bittersweet. The good of such a wonderful person they were seeps through & thats what matters when you remember.

Thank you.

Always so sad to hear of someone's such untimely passing. It's a small measure of comfort that he was fondly regarded by so many.

I may join you. Got these feels but the dude was just gamer famous, not famous-famous, so I'll throw a couple whiskeys down in his honor. The guys I know who listen to the Bombcast don't live near me these days.

I think it's harder because he was "internet famous". You got to know and like him because he put his actual self out there, not some manufactured facade. That's more than you can say for about a lot of "real" famous people.

I'll definitely open a beer in his honor right after I finish up my workout.

Man..........I'm a bit upset about this....May you rest in peace Ryan.

Fuck this...

I honestly thought this would be some parody video when I clicked on this thread. I am so shocked I cannot believe this news...

RIP Ryan Davis. You will be sorely missed.

Stunned and numb. Very sad for all who actually new him personally, especially his wife.

If someone could do a ribbon for my avi too, I would wear it proudly.

I'm so use to hearing his voice on the podcast and the other live shows and now it won't ever be the same.

RIP Ryan Davis

I wonder if they couldn't clip off Ryan saying "Hey everybody, it's Tuuuuuuesday" and use that to open each podcast going forward. Another podcast I listen to, the ESPN college football podcast, did something similar when Beano Cook died - they now have a little clip of him saying "Well, we fooled them again!" (one of his catchphrases) close each podcast, and it is a nice way to keep remembering him.

Aw, Jesus. I hope he's in a better place at least. My condolences to the family.

Can anyone add the ribbon to my avatar please? Thank you.

I'm not a Giant Bomb fan so I didn't know Ryan very well but I caught some of their E3 coverage this year and I remember thinking how funny and entertaining he was. Sad to hear of his passing.

Terrible news, I can't believe this is real.

RIP dude, Giant Bomb won't be the same without you. My thoughts go out to his wife, friends, and family.

audibly gasped when i loaded up gaf

rip and best wishes to the rest of the gb guys and his wife. must be hell for them now.

Very sad indeed, I have listened to giantbomb since arrow pointing down and at gamespot before that.

I will miss Ryan.

I hate to put out any credentials that I have in the medical field as I will just called a liar since this is the internet but suffice to say I have been in school for many years and I take care of critically ill people daily and I answer to nobody.

While a heart attack is possible, it is HIGHLY unlikely. Remember he said he had CPAP on one of his podcasts (recently)? Obstructive sleep apnea is no joke.

I'm making a long drive this week, and I kept remembering "Ryan will be back on the Bombcast this week!"

I couldn't fucking wait to listen to it on my drive. Giant Bomb won't ever be the same.
