I think it's automatically applied to the credit on your account. When I went to the 'Make a Payment' page my outstanding balance was only £35. Also I'm 27 have zero credit history and they wouldn't accept me lol. I had to use my Mum's details, with her permission of course.

I ordered it, says total £40.95, guessing because of the games I ordered. Balance is £40.95 on the website.

Not going to complain about them giving me a credit account, lets me get something on the credit history :p

WTF's this Very thing. Has it done a credit check on me? I just wanted to get to the basket. It said I was successful and it's giving me £1000 to spend.

Fuck this.

I went back and went to the pay by debit card instead screen. Even though I never signed anything, would the check alone have hurt my credit score? I think I have decent credit usually, but don't want to damage it at all.

Apologies should have mentioned that in my post. It's basically an online catalogue, so it sets up a credit account by default. You only get the £30 discount if you sign up to their credit account. Of course afterwards you don't have to use it again and I think they have a 30 day cancellation policy.

Dat 3DS XL discount... dammit. No. Just no. I don't have the money now, I'm going on vacation in a week. Fuck. This is so tempting. There will be some awesome deals in the fall, right? right? Sure it will... *goes away...*

Yeah, they make it hard to realise what you're doing.

A soft credit check shouldn't harm my score anyway...

EDIT Holy crap, I double-posted again. I'm really sorry guys. I'm going to cool it with the replies. Just really invested in my search right now and not paying attention!

Which discount?

It's not the fire emblem one is it?

I want an XL discount!

Considering I've never had a 3DS, and am undecided between 3DS and 3DS XL, and that I can get a black 3DS for £99 new on game right now... should I pull the trigger?

IMO no. 3DS XL is much better, and there will be a good deal on it again soon. £120 new or £140 with a free game recently is worth it

I didn't want to wait around for them to refund so I used their credit thing and paid it back right away. Nice to get a discounted preorder on Beyond and Mario & Luigi Dream Team but I won't be using them again. My sister has a credit account for all sorts of gift stuff and gets stupidly high interest charged. I guess it is doing a quick credit check as everyone's getting different amounts to spend. I have no idea what my credit score is but it gave me £3000.

Huh. I was a bit worried about my Mario and Luigi order being with Flubit, but it was already sent...guess I was lucky with this one.

So just to clarify you can instantly pay off the credit and that's it and done for £43.95?

If so I'm gonna get Dream Team, Luigi and DK!

Not really a deal, but Amazon have Dark Souls: Design Works up for preorder at £29.99. Release date is somewhere in November, I think. Waterstones have it for the same price.

It's cheaper at The Book Depository though: 29,49 euros.

Foyles and bookstore.co.uk have it for around £23, but probably no free delivery outside UK.

Anyone know places where it's even cheaper?

This is currently what I'm waiting on, keep checking the thread every day for this reason for the past few days!

But yours is in Japanese? :)

Of course :p

But it's primarily an art book. There is an interview part though (12 pages or so). Still I think a translation of that interview is available on the net.

EDIT: just checked. I paid around 19-20EUR + postage. Yeah, that has to be right. I definitely didn't pay custom fees. And SAL shipping is not that expensive from where I bought it from.

Is there an actual rule against double posting? I don't think anyone's going to ban you as long as you aren't spamming the thread with pagefuls of posts?

So I guess 30 euros at The Book Depository including (free) shipping is also a good deal for the translated version...

Anyone know the best price on FFX/X-2 HD pre-order (UK)?

After the limited edition news today, need to put my order down.

Put it down at ShopTo for now; under £33.

Binary Domain - £5.99 at zavvi. Might be an old game but it's a good one.

If PC download is your thing then it is available with four other games for just a few pennies more:

No but we are 'encouraged' to edit our existing post rather than post again.

It's a bit more expensive, but yeah not that bad. Although my last (and only) book depository order wasn't really flawless.

And I'm not sure, but I thought book depository would ship from outside EU?!?! Would have to check how long that order took back then, but I think I recall that it wasn't fast at all. I thought they ship some of the orders from Switzerland and are using some of the worst postal delivery services out there (at least for my country). Anyway, if that's the case, 30EUR price may get more expensive because of custom fees.

What site did you use, jimi_dini? Just for future reference :)

From their site:

The Book Depository said:
Currently, The Book Depository is able to ship over nine million unique titles, within 48 hours, from our fulfilment centre in Gloucester, United Kingdom.

Hmm, strange. I thought I read that they shipped some from Switzerland (in a forum). Maybe they changed it back. My order was around 1 year ago or so.

http://honto.jp/ (no www) formerly bk1.jp
Site is Japanese though :p Prices are for Japan, which means the prices we pay are a bit lower. And you also get bonus points, that will save a few bucks on followup orders (you have to select to use them though, default is not using those points). And sometimes they even give out a few hundred bonus points for free.

Looks fantastic and VERY tempting, but the 'This list is subject to change without notice.' is a bit worrying.
Yeah that list looks dodgy as hell, I mean, Barbie: Jet, Set & Style is top of the list.
I'd expect a massive culling of games on that list before the game comes out, and considering you pay the full price then send your games to get the money off you could end up out of pocket if they remove the games you were going to send off.

I'd feel a lot safer if I could lock in what games I would be trading in beforehand.

I guess it's something to check back on in September. I'm still delighted with my already paid for £30 + 500 clubcard points pre-order.

I can't imagine the list won't change, but that's going to be pretty bad PR for GameStop.
