Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

I like the idea of alternate costumes as the other Pikmin games characters. (don't forget the kacho and Louie from Pikmin 2!).
Further than that, purple/albino pikmins alternating with rock/flying pikmins is cool (I don't think flying pikmins will get a special ability).

Just changing colors is boring but as a 4 players games, you need 4 costumes for each characters at least... I like the Wario ones and Shadow Link for example.

Anyway, it's great, and great visual improvement. I think like the Skyward Sword stage, they just pastes the Pikmin 3 assets. Would like to see more of this Pikmin stage next week!

I like how the Pikmin no longer look like they took no effort at all.

I feel the character models were taken straight out of Pikmin 3 as well as the stage, seems they've been doing that with alot of the assets for this game, probably to save time. So far most of what we've seen looks like assets taken straight from their respective games.

As much as people would like alternate costumes for Olimar that comprise of the Pikmin 3 cast, it simply isn't feasible due to how those characters have different body structures. Alternate costumes cannot change the hitboxes/hurtboxes of the default character.

I guess Alph is possible, but the other two are simply too different to be alternate costumes. Maybe as alternate colors...?

The 3DS can't even handle pictures of Olimar.

Holy shit, has to be Ridley.

While I love brawl, I have to agree.

I wish they would have went nintendo land with some of the lighting though, there is hope, maybe there are levels with lighting ike that.

I digged Brawl's style. But it's hard to not swoon at the saturation, and the way it is highlighting the characters primary colors while complimenting the more subtle details of the characters. I also love the more cartoony look and feel, with a slight hint of the photorealism from Brawl (just look at Olimar's stage). Simply put, it feels like the best of Melee and Brawl's style together, but better.

Me three, really impressed with the overall artstyle. But I know what you mean with the lighting. Still beats the other games though!

Yeah, hopefully this game is like that in more ways than just art style.

You know, we keep saying this, but how would he work? His attacks are too big :P

Besides, most of the variety comes from the other heroes. I can see a Final Smash easily, but I can't see anything else.

Make them the next Pokémon Trainer.

Every new Smash needs a character that breaks the mold and boundaries, they'd be perfect!

I like that.

Yeah, they look so pretty.

The Pikmin stage looks so good. It makes me really excited for the inevitable Galaxy stage.

That stage look good so far but i'm curious what layout look like.

I wish the official site looked more exciting, it looks so bland.

Well, I like it.

This raises the question. When is Game & Wario's release date?

It's out for awhile.

I think we can expect new reveals around release dates of Ninty games (and perhaps Sonic Lost World), Wonderful 101 come onnnn.

Don't, Just Don't.

Seriously though this Pikmin 3 stage might become one of my all time favorites simply for how beautiful it looks.

Yeah, but I hope that it wouldn't be similar to the stage in Brawl.

Now question is does this news deserve a new thread?

It already got it's own thread.

I guess we might start finding out who's out by virtue of their games releasing without Smash joining in on the marketing effort.

Or not.

Am I the only one totally let-down by the lack of 3DS shots? We haven't seen Wii Fit Trainer, Olimar or AC Villager at all.

It sure does feel like an after-thought if i'm honest, even though the 3DS development started first it feels as though as if it's been pushed away just to showcase the Wii U version.

I'd totally appreciate some more attention to the 3DS one.

i'm surprised they're giving out 3DS screenshots at all. you'd think they'd want the high-quality screens going around the internet.

Well, there is article somewhere that mentioned that both version might not release at same time, so we already speculating that we are getting Wii U first. For two reasons, they want to boost Wii U sales and they need more time to convert models from Wii U to 3DS. Also they might need to tweaks some characters' movesets to make sure that they work on 3DS, namely multi-characters such as Ice Climbers.

3DS development started first? I don't remembe rreading abot that. Either way, some of Sakurai's comments make it seem like the 3DS version might end up delayed, and he has also mentioned technical problems implementing some characters there. I wouldn't be surprised if it's behind in development, and that's why we haven't seen shots showcasing things beyond the content in the initial reveal.
